I have used Naturescape for lawn treatments for years with no issues. My complaint is with lawn mowing service I used while on vacation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I gave my trip dates (May 22 to June 7) to the office person in machesney park and asked for one mowing near the mid point of our vacation. Approximately May 29.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I mowed myself on May 20th to make sure it was OK for the another week. I get a bill for mowing on May 23rd!!!!!!! Pretty sure it did'nt need a mowing yet after 3 days (and no where near the middle of our vacation). Then I receive another bill in June for mowing on June 3rd (now it can go 11 days between mowing!!!!!). So much for asking for one mowing. Paid for grub treatment and finally had to do it myself. If I would've waited and utilized their program, my grass would've been 100% dead. i had used Nature Scape for a few years without problem. However, in Spring,2024 they sprayed my shrubs/ground cover and I noticed wilting the next day. I called & they told me to water every day for a couple weeks. This is a lot of property to water, took time and a lot of money. They mentioned they had other customers from the same day with the same complaint. Told me that the application was suppose to be a mist but was applied too heavily. I had thick brown goo on my windows (also ended up in the hosp with breathing problems....do not know if it was related to the amount of chemicals spray). [[HIGHLIGHT]]They sent people out a couple times and told me to continue watering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyway, none of my shrubs bloomed last year and everything sprayed was wilted and stunted. Nothing grew after their application. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then they suggested I wait untill Spring 2025 to see if everything came back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have tremendous damage, many items totally dead, My property is in Lake Forest and has a lot of landscaping so this is a very expensive error. Up until last year (2021) we were mostly satisfied with the service, but 2021 was a bust. They claimed understaffing, etc., but they did not provide anywhere near the same level of service as in the previous years. For this year (2022), we were promised much better treatment, and so we trusted them to do the right thing. That has not happened! The southeast corner of my backyard has more thistles than grass, and we have called numerous times without getting anyone to come out and treat the problem. Their fertilizer and weed applications are on point! Good lawn service because when I said I was still having an issue someone came out! Sure both times it seems like the guy completely rushed the spraying process and may have even skipped a bit of my lawn, but there were still great results! I have used Naturescape for years, no issues until this year. After a treatment in late June/early July I noticed some plants were effected by the treatment. Despite sending me promotional mail on a regular basis, this company is apparently not big on getting back to potential customer inquiries. Please see picture for a screenshot of my e-mail correspondence with them. As of today 11/27/2017, I have yet to receive a response. I understand that this is a busy season but literally all of the other 7 companies I've reached out to (much better rated on Yelp, now that I've looked them all up) have either had someone on-site already or they were completely up-front with me to let me know that their schedules were pretty packed via phone and e-mail. I guess it's too difficult for this company to take 1 minute to respond to a potential client. I hope your luck is better than mine and the rest of the unsatisfied Yelp customers. Naturescape - 11/27/17 - still nothing. Don't hold your breath for great CS from this company! - Tree Services Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

On or about JAN 2022 I signed up with NatureScape Lawn Care (Schaumburg, IL Office) for both lawn fertilizer/weed service AND for the first time "Tree & Shrub Inspection & Foliar Spray". I've used this company for Lawn Care only for around 20 years. The charge for the Shrubbery service was under $100. Earlier in the summer (JUL), I called the Schaumburg office that some shrubs were being attacked by Mites. A Rep came out & at first said it was 'mold'. I then showed him it was tiny white Mites under magnification (and they were moving!). They then came out twice to spray the 3 specific plants which seems to have solved that problem. BUT - then SEP 8, 2022 I was working in the backyard & suddenly saw a REP on the east side of the yard come around & was 'wildly' spraying trees (most are not mine!) and shrubbery foliage (he was wearing a small scarf as his only 'protection') - and the easterly wind was blowing towards me! I immediately backed away and when he saw me he immediately left my property and did NOT spray all the shrubbery on the west side of the property. The following week I noticed some yellowing of my very mature (and expensive) Yew plants on the front right corner of my home along with dropping of leaves on ALL the smaller shrubs along the entire east side of my home. Within 2 weeks the Yew shrubbery was completely killed. However, by early OCT, some new leaf/bud growth returned to the shrubbery on the east side of the house & my Landscaper said they will come back (and they have). The Naturescape Rep who came out in SEP to inspect the Yews immediately blamed it on 'Root Rot' which my extremely experienced landscaper of 20+ years AND another licensed Arborist said was absolutely NOT the cause. The Rep ('Mike') took some PIX and filed a report. He told me the Corporate HQ would contact me soon. Since then, I have seen 2 Reps and an Arborist Naturescape hired - and they refused to pay one cent. When I said I would file Small Claim suit for the $1,800 it has cost me to pull out and replace the Yews - suddenly their Lawyer contacted me. However - they still refuse to pay. This is a truly HORRIBLE company who will never admit they did any damage. To counter would require spending nearly $1,000 to hire an expert arborist and my landscaper - plus court costs etc. I may still file suit - but I am at a disadvantage because I did not realize the need to save the root ball for an independent Arborist to inspect. Whatever you do - don't use Naturescape. (I wish there was a 'nagative' Star Rating! read more

There is no reason this place shouldn't be a five star lawn care service supplier based on their staffing. My recent experience was with a quick one-time mow job and aeration with overseeding. They were prompt on replying to my email generated through Yelp, and even did a very generous price reduction. The problem was after the email for setting up the appointment, they were tough with responses. I even had to "bump" an email. They will get the job done, but they won't tell you when it will be done and the bill they give you may not be the full bill (again, they gave a great price but the bill was lower than what the full job was and then I had to figure out why. It was because their was two bills). read more

Naturescape are not truthful and do not completely finish what they promised. They did not kill all the weeds in my yard. They had someone come out to spray but that didn't work. I complained so that came out 2 more times without charging me. But the weeds where still over the place. They said they couldn't not come out again unless I paid for a another application. The manager said he would send someone out one more time. Guess what they burn up all my grass in front and back of my house. The last young man came out and said it must be from climate change. I look at my neighbors lawns and they look fine. I call 5 time today to reach someone and no one answered the phones. Monday I will try to put a complaint in with their Corp office. I really feel this is hard times for everyone and I have been taken advantage of. Shame on Naturescape. Maybe we should call channel 2 and see what can do, since no one wants to answer their phone. If I could give a zero rating I would. I've been with Nature Scape for about 20 years. Last year and this year was the worse. Last year I paid for over seeding. This year there were spots everywhere on my lawn. When I called about it I was told over seeding isn't supposed to fill in the spots on the lawn. This year there are weeds on my lawn and I paid for the weeding service. When I called the customer service person started to get smart with me. Then she changed her tune and said she'll tell the guy to weed every time he comes. I have huge weeds on my back lawn. The last time the guy came to do a service I watched him. He didn't go to my back yard at all. Next year I won't be paying for any of Nature Scape services! They have lost a loyal customer. read more

We used this company for at least 2 seasons for mosquito/tick/flea control. Primarily for mosquitos. We will not rehire them this year. They are cheap. But we got what we paid with them. The stuff they use doesn't last. Either because it's watered down (their techs spray without waring any protective gear), or because they are not thorough (1 acre takes them not more than 10 min), or because they spray when they shouldn't (major rainfall coming within hours), or the combination of all of the above. Their mosquito application only lasts for 2 weeks at the most. And when you call to request for them to come out and retreat, they are never prompt. Also the stuff should have protected us against fleas, however we ended up with major infestation of them. This is no joke. Mosquitos, fleas, ticks - one can get serious diseases from them. Hired somebody else to treat outdoors and indoors just now. They were spraying outside for almost 1 hour, in full body protective gear. read more

We have used Naturescape for both mowing and snow removal. If I could rate this company a negative zero I would. Last year the mowing was ok, this year its like they have a two year old zig zapping across the lawn, there are so many missed patches and there are places where full 6 inch dandelions are still standing!! They do an incomplete job. Same thing for snow removal, they are supposed to salt when they come out, we'll I am not sure in what u inverse salting means drop two pieces of rock salt, my driveway was literally an entire sheet of ice. When they were plowing the driveway, they took a huge divit out of my lawn and now there is a dead spot where they gouged it with the plow!!!! I am incredibly disappointed DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! They charge $64 to mow 3500 square feet because they miss half of your lawn!!!! read more

I signed up for their lawn service online because their prices were much better than Scotts. I never received an email or phone call confirming my service activation despite the fact they already deducted the $180 service fee from my account. 2 weeks later and still no word from Naturscape. I called to cancel my service and I was told I would receive a check in the mail for the refund. I week later and no check in the mail but Naturscape decided to come out and spray my lawn even though I cancelled the week before. So I call back a 2nd time and the gentleman I speak with says he has no record of me calling and cancelling the service. Abysmal customer service! Wow - wish I would have seen the other review before calling this company. I work in customer service and this has been the worst service experience I've ever encountered! They didn't show up for their appointment TWO times, and when they finally came out - they did a horrible job! Didn't even bag the grass. Office staff was friendly at first, but branch manager was not considerate and was upset by me being frustrated with the experience as a first time customer. Not only was the service poor, but they charged me more than the original quote! We have had this company service our lawn before and had no complaints. Something changed this year when we hired them to service our lawn with the 5 step treatment and for mosquito protection. They never show up as promised. If they come they just do the front of the house, never the back and are gone in less than 10 mins. Our grass is never treated all around. Mosquito treatment is horrible. We never saw any difference after the treatment. When I complained they came back and sprayed again and considered that as a paid treatment that I had prepaid for. Complete Idiots/liars your choice I used this company for 2015 and 2016. I had reservations about using them for 2017. I contacted them in August of 2016 about some persistent weeds. They always had said if you continue to have weeds, we will come back and work on them. Well they didn't come back in August 2016 as per my request. (liars) I contacted them in March about my concerns and they said they would take care of it. (liars again). I contacted them again June 2017 about weeds, no response. I didn't make my second installment for 3 additional applications. Why, they hadn't resolved the issue. They send me a bill in August for $100, $98 for second payment and a $2 finance charge. Mind you, I haven't received my 3rd application, 4th application or 5th application, why, because I cancelled my service. I left a very clear and sarcastic message after that. They sent another bill this week for $23. Why I have no idea, they owe me $20. $40 per application, I received 2 applications and paid $98. But I still owe them $23 some how. If I could rate this company lower than 1 star I would. We have been a customer for several years. Over the last three years, service has declined dramatically. My lawn looks terrible, I have weeds all over the place and they are NOT responsive to my calls for additional service. I finally cancelled them and went with a competitor of theirs. I decided to use Naturescape this year due to a A+ business rating on the Better Business Bureau. My trust in the company was a very poor decision. Throughout the year, I've had brown patches on my lawn and continual weeds. I have grub service included. I was told the grubs are beetles. It couldn't be grubs. When I observed the lawn technician arrive and leave quickly without observing him on my lawn, I called to question the service. I was told it was a quick application and therefore it was very brief. I have a considerable large lawn and have a sprinkler system installed. I questioned the answer. I requested someone come out and look at my lawn to analyze what was going on. I was told someone would come out. They never did. When I called a week and a half later to explain there wasn't an improvement and the weeds have increased, I was told they could apply grub service again at an additional charge. Additionally, it takes time for the weeds to go away. Mind you, the weeds have increased with alleged applications throughout the year. I would sincerely NOT recommend Naturescape. I've had other lawn services throughout the year and my lawn has NEVER looked this horrible before. If I could, I would select 0 stars. read more
