BLUF: this visit had the usual mix of relatively standard food with substandard service I've been to this restaurant a number of times and this time the food was pretty much the same as every other. Relatively standard Mexican food not great not bad. I always get the chicken wings as my entree there and I will say that they were very well cooked and were nice good size pieces of chicken. If you get them ask for extra sauce because there really is almost no sauce on them when you finally get them. We also got a fajita salad and a chicken and steak fajita plate. Again, nothing you can't get in the vast majority of Mexican restaurants but not bad either. We did order queso which all of us very much enjoyed So this would be a three-star review if not for the service. We had about the biggest seller puts on the planet as our server. From a moment we saw her it pretty much seemed like she couldn't wait to get us to leave. It started out with us asking a question about a couple of the drinks on the menu and her not knowing anything about them at all. Having been a server once I could see how this would happen but the appropriate response to say let me find out for you not to just say I don't know and walk away. I've also never been some place where instead of giving each person water at the table she stood at one end handed the glasses to the people one end and said pass them down. Pretty constantly kept coming by and asking if we were done eating when we clearly weren't. Then when picking up plates stood at the end of the table again and asked everyone to pass their plates to her. We ordered off the lunch menu at 12pm and yet the server decided we lowered ordering off the dinner menu... despite that we were physically pointing at the lunch menu when ordering. When the food arrived, it was all wrong and lukewarm to boot. We asked the server about tge error and she implied we should eat what we had been given, even though it had nothing to do with what we actually ordered. We asked that telly bring us the items we ordered from the lunch menu, and when those lukewarm items arrived, they were still not the right items. Who doesn't like a great taco and margaritas on taco Tuesday? We stopped at Casa Tequila Bar & Grill in Lorton Virginia while running errands. We have had a VERY hard time finding a tacos that are cooked well and are flavorful so we did not know what to expect. We were greeted by a friendly host who sat us quickly. The wait staff were all friendly and worked as a team to get the food out to the customer. Inside was a lot bigger than we thought it would be. We loved the all of the seating options they had. The food was delicious! We ordered street steak tacos, the guacamole and chips, the small flight of frozen margaritas, and a classic margarita. The tacos were garnished with cilantro and onions. They were seasoned and cooked like I am use to being from California. My only feedback is that the street tacos should be served with lime and radishes. When you decide to do a flight of margaritas, you have a choice of on the rocks or frozen. You also can choose up to four flavors. We chose sour apple, peach, mango, and raspberry frozen margaritas. They were so good. I especially enjoyed the peach and mango ones. The classic margaritas was okay. Nothing special. Overall we enjoyed everything. I have been wanting to try this place since I moved here. It's a nice size restaurant with a good atmosphere. It's a good place to come and unwind and relax and test the various margherita they make there. The food was on point. The chicken wings held uo to the traditional bar test and hit the spot. The pork belly tacos were cooked well, I would prefer a little more sauce on them and in a flour tortilla. The service was great, and a guy named Oscar made the drinks and delivered our food. This restaurant has a good amount of space and is located in a good area. The quality and taste of food is not good though. If you compare other Mexican restaurants in the area such as Guapos or El Paso, Casa Tequila's food is very bland and lacks flavor. On top of that they provide a small portion of salsa and charge you every time you request for another cup of salsa. I've never seen this before. Casa Tequila Bar & Grill is a very good Mexican restaurant reflecting the owners' Central American roots. Their Lorton location is located in Lorton Station Town Center with easy access to the restaurant with parking on the street and parking lot. The layout of the restaurant is unique as it curves around the front of the building. The bar is in the front with 2-person high tops along the window that overlooks their outside seating. The inside seating is not overly big and is behind the bar. It's a bit odd, but it works, especially if you're in the bar area. The food is very good. I had their Molcajete Tequila for 2 people. Portion size was ample for 2 people; one person could eat the whole thing with a large appetite and came hungry. It comes with two plates of rice and beans with the single large entree bowl. The chicken and steak texture was ok, and the shrimp was very good. The hot pepper, onion and spices were spot on. I added their house hot sauce to give it more kick. I took left overs with me since it was running late. Customer service was excellent for a local non-high end restaurant. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The staff reviewed the menu with me and answered my questions. Chips, salsa and water were served quickly and the waitress was quick to restock whatever was low. Food was served within a reasonable amount of time, and all of it was very warm to hot. Casa Tequila Bar & Grill is a strong recommend. This has to be my favorite restaurant in Lorton. It's definitely a hidden gem, that's been tucked away in a nice little shopping center. The service is always spectacular! During my visit back in July, our waiter brought out dessert and lit a candle to celebrate my brother's birthday (very sweet gesture). Most recently, I ordered a meal for my boyfriend and I to-go and the lady on the phone was very kind and respectful. My carryout meal consisted of steak burritos (which were very filling), Lomo (it was so juicy and filling, the meal beat me and my stuffed tummy) and two margaritas on the rocks. I used to frequent this place a lot. Oscar the bartender is like night and day. Some days I come in he's in a good mood, other days you would think he lost his best friend. Oscar told me well if you order something else you're still paying for this, I said I'm not paying for a drink I'm not drinking and it tastes like straight water. I ordered a tequila well drink and noticed he didn't even fill up the jigger making it a full shot, but a guy next to me drinking casamigos HE FREE POURED EACH DRINK and I saw him make 3, literally the casamigos bottle silver is practically empty, think I'm lying manager who sees this why don't you go look... I won't be returning here because I don't like his shitty attitude every other day, unless you look like money or Latina he thinks very low of you and I don't appreciate it. Honestly there are better places that give better service, this just happen to be near my sons daycare. A tip for the Latinos, it's 2025 Spanish is OUR second language. I came with a group of six people to visit Casa Tequila Bar & Grill and they seated us promptly and the service was fairly good. Nicely decorated restaurant and great looking bar. I thought the food was just ok and I could not taste any tequila in the margarita. I am a little biased in that I am from Southern California and the average Mexican restaurants typically have excellent food and this tasted more like canned salsa and spices. The grilled pineapple they serve it in seemed old and it was floppy. The burrito salad is small and sad. The nachos arrived on broken taco shells. Maybe it said that in the description and I missed it. The middle part where the refried beans are was soggy from the start. Sadly we couldn't give them a chance to correct anything since the service was non existent. No one refilled drinks and no one came to check on the food. We were done by the time they came by. We asked for the check and they stopped to clear the table first, then went to get the check. Hopefully it was just an off night but definitely not something we'd chance again. I'm glad we checked this place out! It's literally 5 minutes from our house and we pass it all the time. We enjoyed the 5.99 margaritas and the complimentary chips & salsa. The chips were crisp & warm- yay! I ordered steak fajitas. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't arrive sizzling- kind of a staple with fajitas, so that's strange. But they were tasty enough. Maybe not as much crisp on the onions & peppers as expected, but had some flavor. My husband ordered a crispy pork dish (which I sampled) and it was exceptional. Just stopped in Casa Tequila for a quick lunch. Service was exceptional. We had a couple of lime margs, skirt steak fajita express (the steak was very tender) and the burrito (we asked for a substitution to seasoned ground beef). Will say the portions were a bit on the smaller side, but it was lunch so that made sense. The prices are reasonable but for the portion size, maybe a little high. $50 lunch (including 20% tip). Food came out super fast and was sizzling hot. The reason it's not 5 stars is because of the burrito - which was good, but just OK and we could barely taste the tequila in our marg. This is our fave spot. It is within walking distance of our house and we go there anytime we are feeling like a margarita or don't want to cook that night. Chicken reeked like it died in 2004 and was frozen since. It oozed yellow liquid, when pressed with a fork. It stank rancid. Was it road-kill? Cheese and lettuce/onion were limp and wilted! Found out, it was just the front bar area that was empty. There was a crowd instead in the back where the tables were. Was told by the server who was the host and the cook that something I wanted on the menu that was only served on weekdays could be made for me on a Sunday.
