Everywhere I could find had super mixed reviews, but I landed on NAU Round Rock because every single review of Dr Mistry I read was incredible, and at the end of the day I don't care much about anything except the actual doctor doing the cutting. Dr Lucas Jacomides had performed a Cystoscopy. The whole time, he talked to the nurse about the ball game he went to previously. He also had cancelled my Friday appt that was upcoming and I found out why while he was doing my procedure. He told the nurse he was going to another ball game the Friday he cancelled on me. The nurse never turned on the TV that was supposed to show me what the doctor was doing, so while he was doing it, I didn't see anything. Just wanted to share that I had a terrible experience. Patients come here to get medical advice and procedures done, not to listen to the doctor's personal lives. I would not recommend anyone to go see him. read more

Terrible. Made to feel very unimportant as a patient with potential prostate cancer issue. First appt. was 45 minutes late. Second appt. sat in waiting room for an hour (morning apt.) and no one ever called me back. Many other patients came in and got right in. If doctor was "busy" with other patients, he either overbooks or I'm least important as both appts were almost an hour behind and the one time I actually got to see doc appt. was less than 15 minutes. After waiting an hour for the second appt. with no explanation from staff, went to front desk and was told running behind (again!) and no apology, no care. Told them I had to leave for another appt. and response was okay. Basically, we have too many patients and you are not important. Then the lab work done at the initial appt. was corrupted and received bill. All of this makes me feel very unimportant with a possible prostate cancer diagnosis. Very uncaring and unprofessional clinic. Primary doctor sent me to another urologist which I am receiving excellent care and staff actually treat me like they care and not just a cattle call and leave me hanging like Sandeep Mistry at NAU. read more

Visit with Sandeep Mistry was very unproductive and he did not help me at all with my issue. He tortured me with his unwillingness to help, much less acknowledge the issue I can in to address. He did not bother to look at lab work documentation I brought to the appointment. Instead, he continuously deflected my questions by telling me more about an anti-estrogen medication I was prescribed. I'm trying a different doctor, Lucas Jacomides, at this clinic to see if he is more helpful. read more

I had my first appointment at this office a month ago and they scheduled me a follow up appointment for last Friday. On Thursday I received a message from them that I needed to come in prior to the appointment for labs, I thought that we were going to be reviewing the labs from the first appointment and did not know that I needed new labs. Not long after I got the message they called to reschedule for today at a later time, I told the man that called me that I had to go to work after that and would not have a lot of time but he assured me that wouldn't be a problem. I showed up to the appointment a half hour early and told the receptionist that I came in early to do the labs and she said she'd get me right in. 15 minutes later another gentleman came in and said the same thing I did about coming in early for labs and they got him in in a few minutes. I went back up to the receptionist and she said she was still working on getting me in. I waited another 5 minutes and then went up and asked to reschedule because I needed to go to work and they hadn't even done the labs. The receptionist said the next appointment was 7 weeks away. I asked to speak with the office manager and the receptionist said that the office manager was not in and gave me the manager's card. One of the other office workers chimed in and told me that I was supposed to have come in and gotten the labs a week before the appointment and this was my fault, I was only told about the labs on Thursday!!! I accepted the appointment card and left. When I got out to the car I dialed the manager's number thinking I'd leave her a message. It took a little while for someone to answer and I asked to speak with the manager, she asked me to wait while she tried to connect me. It rings for a bit before the woman comes back and says she wasn't able to reach her, so I asked if she was there and the woman said she was. The receptionist lied to my face. I asked if I could leave a voicemail and the woman said she didn't have any, what business doesn't have voicemail? Overall a very unpleasant experience and I don't know if I feel comfortable going back there. read more

The staff are as rude as can be and you will never be able to speak to anyone at any of the actual clinics. They say you need to only use the online way to contact the office because the offsite answering service is the worst and rudest people they could find it seems. You will wait several months and I mean like 3-4 to be seen and on top of that when you are stuggling to pay your bills and your health insurance laps they will not be understanding at all. The phone service people almost never answer and when they do they are completely useless. I would highly recommend going to a practice where they actually care about you. read more

I have been working for NAU for a little over a year now. I am truly blessed to have this job! The management is truly compassionate, always there when you need them, they really care about their patients and their employees. They make you feel like family! They are great at mentoring and making sure our staff has the knowledge and tools to take care of our patients. The providers really do go above and beyond to make sure our patients are well taken care of. I have been treated by the staff at North Austin Urology and I can't speak highly enough of the experience I've had thus far. Dr. Mistry is very attentive and Dustin does a great job with the hormone therapy appointments. These people are BUSY!!! I know sometimes it can be difficult to secure an appointment but I strongly believe that they are slammed like this because they're good. Very few people with a positive experience will take the time to post an honest review...whereas if a person waits for 5 minutes longer than expected, they're all over social media trashing it out. Beware! My stint with this group was short, but painful. I won't name the Dr I saw, because she is probably the one at least fault here. I made an appointment here to get treated for low T. I was told that I would need 2 low morning readings before insurance would look at paying for the medication. My blood was drawn at the first appointment and the would do the second draw at my next appointment like 2 days later. It was the same day or the next I got a call from them asking if I'd like to do a sleep study, of which I agreed. It was a take home monitor which they would set up for my next visit. Got to the second visit fir a blood draw and the sleep study thing and they didn't have a clue that I was there for the second blood draw. After asking, they were like, oh yeah. My next appointment was set up to show me how to give myself the testosterone shots and return the study equipment. After being given the shot instruction, they said they hadn't heard back about whether my insurance Co would pay firbthe meds or not, so I could either wait a week or so or I could pay $65 for the pharmacy that they use in San Antonio to get me the meds the next day. Two or three days later, I still didn't have the meds so I called the NAU office and they told me to call the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy and they told me the reason fir the delay was that NAU sent them the wrong info, so I call NAU back and the daid they sent the right info and that it wasn't their fault. It was 10 days or so before I got the meds so I called NAU to ask fir my $65 back since it didn't expedite my treatment and of course they said call the pharmacy and the pharmacy again said call NAU. Needless to say I didn't get my refund. I wa supposed to go to a follow up appointment in 4 weeks, but 2 weeks before that 4vweek follow up, they called me and said they needed to change my appointment because my Dr had bronchitis. I said, we're still 2 weeks out from that appointment and they said yes but she's sick. Next available appointment was about 90 days out, so I said, I'm not going to get a follow up until then and they said correct. Now 6 weeks later or so, I was getting bills from the lab for $550 ea for the 2 blood draws because they dont take my insurance. Those draws were done right in their office. I should have been informed that their lab didn't take my insurance, so I could have chosen to go somewhere else. If all that wasn't enough, I had decided that I was done with them so I called to cancel that follow up appointment and when the girl asked me if I'd like to reschedule and I said no, it didn't even phase her. I then asked to talk to the office manager and she asked why and when I told her she said they weren't in at the moment and that she would write down my complaints and give the to the manager and if they saw fit, they would call me. Well, it's been over 2 weeks since that call and I haven't heard anything, so that pretty much tells you how they feel.about their patients. They couldnt pay me now to go here. Out of everything that has ever happened to me in my life, walking through the doors here was the worst. I was lied to about how serious my issue was in order to force me into an unnecessary procedure that had destroyed my life. I was not informed of the risks and alternatives to this procedure as required by law and AMA guidelines. When asked why I was not informed, I was told by Lucas Jacomides, "You don't tell people getting in a car they may be involved in a car wreck." He abandoned my case without warning, knowing I had severe mental problems with what he had done to me. Dr. Mistry took over the case and told me he didn't know why I was not informed of the risks and refused to find out why. My medical records have been altered so many times to cover up Jacomides actions they are next to worthless. My advice would be to go anywhere but here. Dr Stacy Ong is great! We are coming because of her and her skills. I would definitely recommend her! However one of their physical therapists is not punctual at all. Checked in on time, was finally seen by her 45 min later. ....I did not hear any apology from front desk lady, even I came up to ask how longer to wait. If I could give less than one star I would. I spoke with a Silvia in their call center a few weeks ago, who at first, seemed like she was willing to help expedite my medication issues. I was truly disappointed when I asked to be connected to her and she answered the phone with "how can I help you?!" In such a rude, mean demeanor. It did not stop there. The employee then left me on speaker phone, which I imagine was by mistake. I heard her and another woman laughing at my file as they read it aloud. Then, once she realized what she had done she yelled a swear word and hung up on me! All in all, I felt like she was annoyed and I felt immediately like a burden calling back about the prescriptions that I pay for out of pocket, that are very costly. It blows my mind that they would allow someone to speak to a client in that manner. since I'm battling stage 1 testicular cancer. Overall the doctors care, their staff members do not however. I would not recommend this Urology clinic to anybody in the Austin area. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache. I called and cancelled all of my upcoming appointments and am happily seeking treatment elsewhere. I recommend you do the same. read more

Went to this place with open arms for a vasectomy, as my wife has been nagging me about it for the past 4 years. Firstly, the people who answer the phones give off such bad energy and unprofessional-ism. I'm not sure how to explain it, I just did not feel comfortable talking to anyone about my after care issues because of the way they sound over the phone (aggravated and annoyed that I'm calling for medical help/advice) Vasectomy was a bit painful but the recovery was not however. I also find it very very disturbing that the office manager would go on their google page to promote this place like it' s a 5 star when is surely is not. There must be some type of conflict of interest here. After I'm out of aftercare treatment, I will not be returning. This place is a nightmare. While Dr. Mistry seems professional and has a good demeanor, the way this office runs is the worst I've experienced in my life at any doctor's office. The staff is well-meaning and nice, but that's where it ends. No one seems to know what is going on and they rely on the patient for a great deal of background knowledge. You have to know what questions to ask so you don't wind up wasting a great deal of time. Policies and procedures seem to change based on the person you're talking to and no one ever takes the time to explain everything that is actually required when there's a multi-step process. New things you need to do and the steps required seem to change constantly. The net effect is that something that should take about 2 weeks can drag out beyond 6 months. It's no doubt that Dr. Mistry has an awesome reputation due to his knowledge and level of patient care. But scaling the business has left some serious flaws that leave the non-surgical folks frustrated and distraught. read more

Although I received a thorough exam by Dr. Ong and I have no complaints about the staff, I do not recommend this place to anyone on a budget. First of all, I was referred to another specialist who is associated with this business for a problem I do not have. Secondly, my 20% co-pay for a single office visit was so high I could not squeeze it into my budget, but I was making regular payments. It took me 3 months, but they sent me to collections! I got an auto response from "mistry" that my message was received. I did not hear back so I called 4 days later and asked to make a new patient appt with Dr Chris Yang. I was forwarded to an extension which eventually went to voicemail. I left a message stating that I was worried about my lab results and I'd like to set up an appointment if possible. It's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't received a response. If they're not taking new patients, I would like to have been told that over the phone or email. I was five weeks into a nasty prostrate infection and on my third antibiotic when my primary care physician decided to refer me to a urologist. It took more than a week to get an appointment and when I showed up I was felling ill, I was grumpy, I ... was not in a good mood to say the least. Somehow, I messed up the instructions on how to find the urologists office and wound up at the wrong one. I've never done that before. Of course, the office had no record of my appointment and we eventually figured out that I was in the wrong office. By the time we got that sorted out I had just a few minutes to get to the right office. I was literally sick, I nearly threw up. I had been sick for weeks and I was facing missing the appointment, paying a fee for having missed the appointment, and having to wait another week to see a urologist. Nope, not at Dr. Mistry's office. They called the other doctor and cleared up any problems I might have had with them. They contacted my primary care doctor and got the referral changed. I was in an examining room talking to Dr. Misty just a little later than my scheduled appointment at the other office. Dr. Mistry made time for this sick, confused, and rather upset man who wandered into his office by accident. Everyone should be as lucky as I was to get to the wrong place at the right time. Dr Mistry examined me, wrote me a prescription for a cheap generic antibiotic that worked and referred me to physical therapy. Physical therapy for a prostate infection? Yep, the infection had inflamed the pelvic muscle and I was in constant pain from that. He sent me to a wonderful physical therapy office, Hands On Physical Therapy. It turns out he examined their facility, checked there qualifications, and interviewed their staff before he started sending patients to them. When discussing my condition with him I have noticed that he listens. He actually lets you tell the whole story. He picks up on what you said and what you didn't say. He asks follow up questions that have lead me to related information that I had not realized was important or that I had not realized could be a symptom. I've several times had training on how to listen to customers. I think I am fairly good at it. Dr. Mistry could teach seminars on the subject. After I was over the infection the follow up exam identified another longer term health problem and we are now treating that. He isn't the kind of guy who just patches you up and sends you on your way. He is the kind of guy who wants to know why you got sick in the first place and wants to fix that problem too. Dr. Sandeep Mistry is a native Texan from Sugar Land. He embodies the Texan values of politeness, respect, honesty, and directness that I have come to value so much since moving to Texas in 1991. I originally wrote that review in 2010 I have continued seeing Dr. Mistry since then and also Leanora Brown. This has been the most difficult clinic to communicate with I have ever associated myself with. Follow up with a patient is nearly non existent. They say they will call back, but they have proven they do not. by the time I got off HOLD for the 3rd time in 15 mins., I was so frustrated and thinking of just cancelling a procedure of what they say is a necessary procedure. If it is so necessary and important for my health, they do not make you feel like you matter much at all. Furthermore if a staff member calls to say they are calling you a prescription and you need to start it the next day and you go to pick it up and it is not there makes you wonder how communication in this place really is. now it is awaiting approval and should be ready tomorrow but I am suppose to start the antibiotic tonight. Wonderful is the best way to describe the entire staff at North Austin Urology. Dr. Mistry personifies TEXAS caring, he listens to every word you say before he tries to come up with a diagnosis or treatment plan. He actually care and will take your call should you need to talk to him. I have been going going to him for a while but, he even put his cell phone number on his card when I started going there. I never needed it he was willing to take it in case I did have a problem. Lenora Brown is absolutely wonderful and makes sure your treatment is working and is absolutely wonderful too. Dr. Angela Treadway is worth her weight in gold. When Dr. Mistry suggested I see her for Physical Therapy, I wasn't sure what to expect but trusting him I thought I would see if it might help me with some issues I was having. I am so glad that I followed his advice. Dr. Treadway has made all the difference in th world. She explains everything so you know what to expect and why. She made so much difference by teaching me how my body works and how to train it to work better than I ever knew it could. The Physical Therapy has worked wonders for me. If Dr. Mistry suggest you do it then do it. I am telling you that you'll be amazed at what Dr. Treadway can do to help you train your body to do. It Is close to a miracle. Awful experience !!! Had kidney stones it was determined too large to pass on their own had surgery which did nothing. I was in terrible pain (post surgery)passing the large stone that was supposed to be broken up. I paid over $1000 out of pocket even though I have insurance. I received another bill for $150 I called and they said Oh!! you don't have to pay that in fact we need to refund you $$ because your insurance paid for alot of it. This sounds very shady to me collecting money that is going to be paid by insurance. They are just making sure they get paid. Do yourself a favor find another Urologist. What a scam!! read more

Hubby just had vasectomy 10-5-18. It went perfect actually. The staff was great, especially Victor. And Also Dr Mistry, professional and nice. He made my husband's experience great. I think it lasted maybe 20 mins if that. They gave him a conscience IV sedation which kicked in fast and helped a ton with his anxiety. It's been over 48hr and he's had no swelling, no infection and he just showered. It was sore when the meds wore off but tolerable. He took his antibiotics they sent us home with. It's been tender but that's it. We are impressed. We definitely recommend this office and especially this doctor to anyone. Also we were cash pay and it included so much. I can't even say anything bad, it was all above expectations. read more

I been a patient at NAU Urology Specialists for several years. Initially I would see Dr Mistry, MD, then it was primarily Lenora Brown CNS and only occasionally Dr Mistry, MD. In the last two years I have not seen Dr Mistry, MD at all, I am always examined by Lenora Brown, CNS. I feel Lenora Brown is competent and she usually conducts a flow check and bladder sonogram during my office visit. However, my last two appointments have been phone interviews to review my blood work and approve refills. No more in-office diagnostics. Although I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Mistry or Lenora Brown, I feel like much of the patient care has been degraded as I get further removed from the doctor. read more

I had chronic kidney stones and infections for years and finally was referred to Dr Mistry for answers. I had one appointment where I met him and he ordered a CT scan and x-ray at ARA and said we would talk surgery when I returned from that. I came back immediately and we scheduled to have a procedure done on my left kidney to remove the stones and to place a stent in. Friday, March 6th I went in at 5:30am to have it done and by 12:30pm I was in the emergency room because the stent had COME OUT! And, rather than Dr Mistry coming to meet me at the ER or even checking on me at all, I was admitted and checked on by other doctors not familiar with my case. It is March 10th and I am still in the hospital. Dr Mistry still is a no show. read more

This office has lack of time management. When you give someone an appointment time, they are to be seen at that time. I arrived with my husband who was given an appointment time of 3:00. We sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes BEFORE a NURSE came and got us! So, at this point it was now 3:34 Unacceptable!!!! Folks have jobs that they leave to attend such appointments. They might also have another appointment unto which they scheduled around the current appointment. Now, I turn they will be late for the said next appointment!!!!! read more
