Service at tables is sub par, slow and not managed well. Not one visit. Multiple visits. We've been there more than a dozen times. It's such a unique place that I want to succeed desperately. Sometimes it is full and super busy but overtime. Some of these issues will catch up with them. It's a management issue. Food is consistent, tasty pub food at a relatively good price point. The challenge is food getting to the table in reasonable timeframes, hot and on time (apps not arriving at the same time as main course). There is an issue with the clarity of the service model. This past Sunday evening is a great example. Not busy. Server more focused on closing at 5:45pm than our table. Didn't see for long periods. We were at a table next to the bar and I saw our beers and wine.l sit there. I ended up getting them myself. One of our three appetizers came out ahead of time the other two arrived with dinner and they were warm at best. When dinner did arrive, the onion rings were cold. There seemed to be a manager, more concerned about busing our table and less about our status. In a past visit, a manager acknowledged the challenges we had and offered a gift certificate. I said it wasn't necessary. I just want to provide the feedback because I love the venue, the beer and the pub food. What is necessary is how fundamentally look at how they serve their customers consistently.

First of all TSB is small, and the parking is a little tough. I managed to grab an open parking spot right in front and then got one of the three seats at the bar area. It looked like there was seating upstairs which is good because there wasn't much downstairs. Coosane NEIPA was a very tasty IPA. Wulver's Moon Scottish wee heavy wasn't bad but not my favorite Scotch ale. Although this is one of my favorite styles overall. Thelonius Funk hoppy black saison definitely had a hop flavor to it but it was pretty light. Mad Eye Raven rye oatmeal stout on nitro is one I had to try as I'm partial to beers on nitro. I liked this one. I only got a hint of the rye and I'm not sure I would have picked it out if I weren't clued in. Still, I enjoyed it as the rye was just kind of a bonus for me. I wasn't there long but the brewer was hanging out chatting with a couple of customers which is always cool. The whole place had a very friendly vibe and I would have stayed longer if I didn't have to be up before the crack of dawn tomorrow. There's a lovely bridge overlooking the golf course, a gazebo with tables, tables in the sun, tables in the shade, Adirondack chairs facing a pond, even a rooftop deck. So many outdoor options! Of course there are also a bunch of nooks for indoor seating as well as long wooden tables with benches. The pizza looked and smelled freaking phenomenal. I wanted one with vodka sauce but I'll have to wait to try it when my husband goes with me. They have a draft beer bar and a cocktail/mocktail bar in different areas. A few tiny bathrooms throughout and a shop with lots of golf gear and other merch. I ended up making an online order when I realized they make their own spirits and other fun canned cocktail type drinks. OMG they even have regular seltzer water in cans with flavors like cotton candy!! When you pickup an order, you park in a designated spot, checkin online and tell them which spot you're in. I'm glad TreeHouse allows outside food because that worked out perfectly. What prompted me to write this review, though, was the cleanliness of the Tewksbury location. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. I'll agree with other reviewers that the place is full of unsupervised kids. The result is that there were large smears all over the windows in at least two locations - noticeable enough that I was surprised they didnt catch the attention of the staff and hadn't been cleaned as they happened. The bigger issue was the restrooms. The two bathrooms off the main beer hall have a very strong urine odor, the kind that suggests they haven't been thoroughly cleaned or sanitized in quite some time. It was so unpleasant that I opened each door, turned around, and decided to find another restroom upstairs instead. Unfortunately, that wasn't much better. The upstairs restroom door was difficult to lock and wouldn't stay latched, which made for a pretty awkward experience. TreeHouse has built an incredible reputation for its beer, and we've enjoyed every location we've visited (some are definitely better than others). A brewery that attracts this many visitors should be paying closer attention to the cleanliness and maintenance of its public spaces. And yes, the mini sign in the lobby that suggests that kids need to stay with their parents is worthless. Please parents, remember this is NOT a pizza place that serves beer. It's a beer hall with a pizza oven.

My small order had 8 pieces with a very thin coating of Buffalo-ish sauce-- not as spicy or as vinegary, but reasonably piquant and tangy. So a mixed bag of flavor and texture, but overall, good. -- True West Burger: Sort of a thick burger, sort of a brioche bun (closer to a better, fresher McDonald's), with vegetation significant part of it. The service was meh, mostly focused on selling more, vs. doing the basics like clearing away used dishes. Too many rookies, not well trained. Beer selection has fallen off as well; I really miss Colonial Gold. Too many IPA's. Turnover with the brewmasters? Mixed drinks are small and expensive. Ambiance is fine, can get loud. My family held a surprise birthday party for me 20 months ago, and everyone loved the buffet entrees, etc. The standards have slipped a lot since then. And I have witnessed this decline on several prior visits since. When I asked my crew about the night, they all agreed that Tavern in the Square (Littleton) was much better for comparable entrees and service. In Acton, Rapscallion is a much better choice for a brewpub for food, beer, and service. We are dropping this venue from our monthly meeting restaurant rotation. Too bad.

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, a coffee shop tucked in the back, a private event room, and even a rock-climbing gym connected to the building, which makes for a pretty unique setup. The brioche bun was perfect, the flavor combo was genius to be honest. He even came back around to check in on me and how it was. (Give this man a raise lol). He took a moment to express gratitude and speak of his investment in the place and making it grow. Did I hear batting cages are coming next door?? I'm sorry I didn't get some pictures, I honestly forgot in the midst of the hospitality. 5/5 experience, would come back for sure!
