I was recommended and referred to Dr. Jeffrey Ahn through my father after I told him about my sinus issues (for my whole life I could only breath from one nostril or not at all, constantly getting sinusitis every other week + I was on steroids for 1.5 years to reduce my nasal polyps - to no avail). My father, who had similar issues to me and had undergone 3 nasal surgeries with 3 different ENT's (prior to finding Dr. Ahn), told me that Dr. Ahn was the only doctor who was able to fix his problem once and for all, completely. My dad also told me to include his review: "Dr. Jeffrey Ahn is incredibly smart and has the strongest and highest (/higher than) mastery level understanding of otolaryngology. He is extremely well educated, and it shows in the quality of his care. HE CHANGED MY LIFE." My dad always talks about how Dr. Ahn changed his life (and mine too) - and he really did in such a dramatic way. My dad doesn't have sleep apnea or sinus issues anymore (since his surgery with Dr. Ahn 3 years ago), and subsequently that has made him much more awake, alert, and active during the day. Since his surgery, he has taken up running (he has never run before) and has a much better quality of life than he did before. That should all be accredited to Dr. Ahn. That being said, when I returned to New York, Dr. Ahn was the first person I went to go and see. From my full experience, I truly and strongly believe he is the best ENT in America (probably in the world). Like my dad, he has changed my life DRAMATICALLY. He has a great comprehension of sinus issues and will go into depth in analysing ALL the factors that contribute to your problem. For that reason, he TESTS FOR A LOT AND TRUST ME ITS F--KING WORTH IT. The whole process really really REALLY made me gain so much respect for him as a doctor, because he doesn't give a diagnosis without the evidence being there. He does not simply rely on his own skills (though I know he is definitely smart enough to be able to), and he will ask for the appropriate tests to confirm and get more information on your problem and understand how to get rid of it for the LONG TERM. Any diagnosis he makes will be very well informed, well researched, and concluded based on thorough test results that he will ask you for (I am sure it varies based on person/problem). Dr. Jeffrey Ahn is an expert and understands that everyone's case is different and requires customization as such (whether for immunotherapy or surgery). He will go through your test results with you line by line, explaining what everything is/means and answer any questions you may have. And, once he has confirmed ALL issues, he will provide a valid and thorough diagnosis of what was causing your problem (and why) and tell you what steps need to be taken to remedy the problem. He is the best doctor truly. Also, if what I wrote in the aforementioned paragraphs did not convince you then please judge him based on the staff he employs (his team). He has the best staff and nurses on planet Earth as part of his team - they are all so kind and HELPFUL. They go above and beyond and will even work with your insurance if necessary, so you don't go through too much of a headache. It is clear that he only employs smart and capable people who make every step of the process better for the patient. Seeing the girls who work at his Manhattan office is something I look forward to every Wednesday and I always leave with a smile on my face. They are honestly super great at their jobs and so efficient all around. Also, Gloria (the nurse who helped me pre- and post- operation in New Jersey) was so wonderful and informative. She explained the full procedure, answered all my questions, gave great advice on post-op care, made sure I was comfortable the whole time, and held my hand + made me laugh/distracted me when I was getting anaesthesia (I was super anxious about it). She also called me the day after my procedure and the following day as well, to check up on my progress/see how I was feeling and to make sure I was doing okay. Gloria, if you're reading this - I didn't get a chance to say this but thank you so much for everything you did for me. I felt very cared for and it made my recovery experience much better. Lastly, Chad, the anaesthesiologist who put me to sleep pre-surgery was phenomenal. I was so anxious about the needle and he so calm and reassuring. He took all my stress and anxiety away - I didn't feel a thing and I went under in the most stress-free environment. She refused to insert an ear tube, after many requests from me, and despite my history of needing them, and a few months later my eardrum spontaneously burst from congestion from a cold. When I discussed my frustration at not being heard by her, she was dismissive, defensive, and took no accountability. I finally had enough and left her practice. Since then, another ear doctor sent me for a cat scan which revealed a large growth in my ear canal (cholesteatoma) that had been eating away at my ear bones for 20 years. It required immediate surgery as it was 1/2 millimeter away from my brain. BEWARE of Dr. Keenan. I'm so grateful I found a new care team that saved my life. If I could give zero stars I would.

Also, Dr. Jones is a great ENT and definitely knows what she is doing so this has nothing to do with her ability to provide excellent hands on care! BUT... My almost 2.5 year old daughter had tubes placed in her ears a little over a year ago. The procedure went incredibly smoothly and Dr. Jones had her in and out of the surgery center within an hour... zero complaints there! And the tubes did wonders for my daughter in terms of hearing and speech! However, the aftercare (especially recently) has been HORRENDOUS! My daughter saw Dr. Jones in May this year so almost a year after her tubes were inserted. Dr. Jones told us that the tubes were on their way out and that we should stop using the prescribed ear drops if she were to get an ear infection as they would no longer work. Fast forward to this past week. My daughter was diagnosed by her pediatrician with a double ear infection. We can see one tube hanging out of her ear. This ear had orange and green liquid coming out of it and the other had blood. The pediatrician prescribed her an oral antibiotic as the drops would no longer work according to Dr. Jones. I sent Dr. Jones a message on the portal on Wednesday to make sure this was the appropriate course of action. I didn't hear anything on Thursday, so I called the office and they said they would push it through again. By Friday afternoon, I still didn't hear anything. I called the office two more times. Finally, late Friday afternoon, her "assistant" who definitely couldn't have worked at the office for more than a day called. She got my daughter mixed up with a different patient. Called her a boy, said when we "return from vacation"... we were not on vacation. She told us to stop the oral medicine (which was inaccurate). I told her to get her facts straight and call me back. She called back and relayed inaccurate information. Finally she said Dr. Jones is going to do a telehealth appointment with you on Friday at 4. It's 4pm and there is no link. My husband and I called the office 4 more times each and finally Dr. Jones called me at 5pm via FaceTime.... This was over 48 hours after I sent the message on the portal. That is incredibly unacceptable especially when dealing with a 2.5 year old! Dr. Jones told us to come in on Monday so that she can check her ears. WELL.... I get a check in alert for her appointment tomorrow and it says that it's a TELEHEALTH appointment not an office visit!! Meanwhile Dr . Jones told me on FaceTime that she needs to see my daughter's ears in person. It's the weekend and impossible to get in touch with anyone to confirm the in office visit. We now live in NJ so it will take us at least an hour to get to the city. It's truly remarkable how incompetent an office within a world renowned hospital system can be!! Another comment.... I had some ear wax that needed to be removed. Dr. Jones told me to make an appointment with her which I did, and she successfully removed everything within 5-10 minutes. I eventually got a bill for $700+ (I also have great insurance). I called the hospital billing department, and they told me they would set up a payment plan for me (!!!). Finally I got in touch with the office billing department (which wasn't even an option but I basically cried to someone at the front desk) and the biller got my bill down to about $100. It's all just such a SCAM!! There are a number of amazing ENTs in NYC. Trust me, seeing Dr. Jones is not worth the frustration, stress and agony!

He ended up giving me a referral to an allergist who agreed with everything Dr Patel did and with these additional skin tests I might be able to figure out my allergy issues now. Thanks again to this staff for being patient with me during the crazy times of COVID and having a very clean and sanitized office. Even the little step of having a jar for clean pens and used pens was the extra little step that made me realize this office understands me ;)
