This guy packs your shipment and then contracts someone else to deliver it. That's fine until something goes wrong. His contractor did not call the recipient, my daughter, and left a 300 lbs package in the carport of the neighbor. When I called Alan Moore of Navis he seemed genuinely concerned. Alan said they would not go back and move the package. He called his contractor. They told him they would go back and take the package away and then call my daughter to schedule delivery. What? He then began to lecture me, quite rudely, about my contract being curbside delivery. I didn't expect them to break down the package and carry it inside, but to leave it in a carport and not contact the recipient is just bulls..t. All I requested Navis and Alan Moore to do was go and move the pallet out of the neighbors carport. Apparently that caused great consternation for Alan and his contracted shipper. A company is only as good as it's ability to correct their errors. This guy does not have the ability to fix his screw up. read more

I reached out to Navis pack and ship online. I filled out the online quote request form that required that I submit a fair amount of info. I received the following reply. "Is the item packaged already? Are you shipping to Berlin, Germany? Would you declare a value for insurance?" That was it. No "thank you for inquiring... or please call or ANY other than what you see above. Right to the point. I replied saying that I was attempting to obtain a quote to ship a Porsche Carrera hard top for a convertible to Great Plains. I hired Navis to move an $8000 machine for me. I sent them pictures of the items. The machine had a white computer clearly marked with the lot # of the machine. When it arrived, they had sent a black computer, clearly it wasn't the computer needed to run the machine. I tried emailing Alan Moore and he was condescending and he kept blaming everyone but himself. First it was the auction co's fault, then it was my fault, then it was back to the auction co's fault. Bottom line- I hired them to be my agent for an $8000 machine. He didn't even have the presence of mind to be able to tell a white computer from a black one. I have been shipping with Alan at Navis for years. He ships ALL my expensive items: Chandeliers, Antiques, Glass Vases, Lamps (with expensive stone, glass or crystal), Brass Tables, Pedestals, Collector Items and more. I consider myself a VERY good packer when it comes to shipping, but certain things you MUST leave to a professional. Alan gets me quotes fairly quickly and answers any questions of concerns I might have honestly and with KNOWLEDGE. Alan has been packing and shipping a long time. I have learned my lesson having FedEx and UPS pack items I have won at out-of-state auctions. Have had statues, lamps and precious stones arrive broken by the big chain corporation employees not having the experience to pack these types of items. If you ever filed a claim on damaged shipments and not felt the need to drop F-Bombs repeatedly then you A) Make the shipping company A LOT of money and get paid out quickly or B) You already use Navis. I have recommended Navis to many clients who still continue to use them - sometimes better having no middleman in shipping and having clients ask "why does it cost so much to ship?" Worth paying the extra money (sometimes even the same cost or not much more then shipping it out yourself) to get things done correctly and not have to worry if your packing is sufficient - can't emphasize enough YOU CANT GO CHEAP ON ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT BROKEN!!!
