The main employee said that she couldn't make things go any faster because she's just one person; however, a second employee (possibly a trainee) stood idle behind the counter for more than half the time I was there. I reserved a specific luxury vehicle two months in advance for a business trip with several colleagues. I even called to confirm my reservation a week before my scheduled pickup. Despite that, I received a call from the Budget location at 4:45 p.m. the day before my 8:00 a.m. reservation informing me that they did not have my reserved vehicle available. To make matters worse, they did not have any vehicle available until sometime between 10:00 a.m. and noon, and even that was not guaranteed. I spoke with the branch manager to confirm the situation and asked what could be done to resolve it. I was told there was nothing they could do. His only recommendation was that I drive 45 minutes to the nearest airport and hope they had a vehicle available. When I asked if Budget could coordinate that transfer or otherwise help accommodate the situation, I was told that was not something they do. As a result, I spent the next two hours calling multiple rental car companies trying to find a vehicle for our business trip. Naturally, the only vehicles available were significantly more expensive than my original reservation, but I had no choice but to book one. It has now been almost a week, and I have yet to receive a call or even a sincere apology regarding this experience. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have encountered this type of issue with this Budget location. I stopped using this branch after a similar experience about a year ago but decided to give it another chance. I now regret that decision. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service, accountability, and effort to resolve a problem that was entirely within Budget's control. A reservation should provide customers with confidence that a vehicle will be available as promised, especially when it has been made months in advance and confirmed shortly before pickup. This experience has permanently damaged my trust in this Budget location. I will not use this branch again, and I will be recommending that my colleagues and business associates choose a different rental company for their future travel needs.
