They've got bunches of books from every genre, along with DVDs and games you can checkout as well. The DVDs and games have a limited number you can check out, but you can check out all the books you want! What I'm not a huge fan of is their non fiction section. There's only non-fiction, there's no autobiography, historical categories, they're just all together, which makes it harder to find what you're looking for. Read some books people!

It's rather small, so you could tour the whole facility in about an hour. The facility is across the way from the Pacific Aviation Museum. Your tour starts off in the lobby in where you circle around the large "sphere". Various images are projected on the sphere including the topography of earth versus Mars, the direction of the winds, and what I thought was cool, is they show you real time how many and where all aircrafts are flying. After that the kids are taken into a room with a large floor map and quizzed on world geography. Then we were directed into the "augmented sand box" room. Here the kids got to play in a sand box as the change in topography and elevation were projected on a large screen in front of them. Our last stop was the tsunami information Center where the kids learned about where tsunamis come from and the warning signs. They got to play with a "wave box" and sit in a conference room overlooking the 24 hour tsunami surveillance center. They just opened the facility for people to tour so there isn't too much to see, but the things you do get to learn are interesting. There's a cafeteria to grab a meal or snack. There's also a library and lots of pamphlets on different topics related to weather and all things oceanography related. If you're into things like that, you might want to visit while you're on Ford Island. Speaking of Ford Island, you need military access to get here. I don't know how admission works since we were invited on a field trip sponsored by Geographical information services. I'm sure if you give them a call expressing interest, you can get in.

This is a review of the cafeteria inside the NOAA building at Ford Island…read more If you have base access, the cafeteria inside the NOAA building is a good choice for a work lunch. If you've made it past the military guard at the Ford Island bridge, go to your extreme right at the roundabout. You'll recognize the NOAA building right away. It will be on your right. It's all tall glass windows and steel and pretty unlike the Navy buildings. I know, I know. The Navy has other priorities. It spends its money on the fleet and sailors. Once you get to the NOAA building, you'll find a large open parking lot with ample parking spaces. Parking is free. Inside the building, you need to give the NOAA security guard your ID ( state driver license is ok) and in exchange you'll get a Visitor Badge that you keep until you're done with the visit. My friends and I go there for the cafeteria. It serves hot, freshly prepared daily specials. You can also find soups, sandwiches, muffins, pastries and burgers. There are cold items like fruit cups, juice drinks and yogurt. The salad bar is a great deal. It's not fancy. Ruby Tuesday offers more items at its salad bar, but NOAA is more affordable and not as crowded. What's neat is that the cashier weighs the container your salad is in and doesn't charge you for it or for the dressing if you put it in a separate container. I wish other places did that. If you use a plate for your meal, there's a cool conveyor belt that you can put the plate on and it takes it to the back to be washed. Sort of like a sushi restaurant conveyor belt except it's only for dirty plates. There's plenty of seating with great views of Pearl Harbor. NOAA staff even eat their homemade lunch in the area which is cool. Be sure to get there by 11:20 am at least because you could wait a while for your food unless you go with the salad bar or cold items. At the end, give your Visitor Badge back to the guard to get your ID back.

The school administration keeps parents up to date on security concerns, academic state milestones, misses attendances, I mean everything. You're contacted either phone or email. They also utilize communications with parent using teacher's conferences every couple of months. Every quarter there's an award ceremony and in between, the school holds plays and band concerts for students, parents, and guest. After school hours, there is a boys girls club on campus and a couple of after school athletics clubs. Plenty of parking and overflow parking near Campbell high school for after school activities. Remember heavy traffic flow during morning school drop off with the High school next door. Overall five stars. Teachers want their students to succeed just as much as the parents. Don't forget to thank a school educator, encourage your kids everyday, and drive with aloha. M

Very disappointed! Needed to pick up my refund for my grand daughters Year book because they…read morewouldn't mail it to me now that we live off island. So picked it up finally since I'm back. Went to the bank to cash it since they wrote a check. Couldn't even cash it because they dated the check 6/2021 and on the check it's written VOID AFTER 6 MONTHS. Um hello banks won't cash a check that far back! it's a good thing I'm still here. Anyone picking up your refund check for Year book check the date on your check or you'll be making another trip back there for a cashable check.
