I came here at 7 o'clock. I ordered my food. I didn't get served until five minutes before they closed. I ordered potato tacos, potatoes, and a burrito and a tostada of ceviche. They forgot my side of ceviche and they also forgot my drink and they locked me out of the restaurant. Truthfully, I would rather have sleep for dinner While I waited for one hour and a half I decided let me get drunk to numb the pain. I ordered a Michelada. Our first night in Yosemite and we were all hanging for some Mexican food so we stopped here. Everybody thought it was delicious and outstanding. I just thought it was pretty mediocre. Great option for food around the Yosemite area where restaurants are limited. We stopped by for pickup from Midpines and it was pretty empty. Got 4 chicken tacos that came wrapped in foil on a paper plate. The toppings in the regular chicken tacos included onions, cilantro, red and green salsa. My only request would be to request the salsas on the side as well since the sauces on the tacos dry up. read more

Overall: hefty portions, clean restrooms, great treat after a long hike from Yosemite, nice service I didn't have high hopes for Mexican food in this area, but I was very surprised by this restaurant. The portion sizes are HUGE for the burritos. I had just finished an epic snow trip and our group was tired and hungry. This place perked us right back up. We'll make sure to stop here on our way out from Yosemite. I recommend the burritos! They were really good. I had the huevos rancheros and, while decent, the portion size and the flavor did not match the carne asada and carnitas. It's also cutely decorated, in a kitschy way. We enjoyed their taco banner, Christmas decorations in February, giant tortoise statues for sale. The service was very friendly! Stopped by starving and this was the best decision I made today. I got a sope with carnitas con todo. I am definitely going to make the drive back with the family and try more of the menu. The decor is cute too and they had some ceramic yard decor for sale as well. read more

First time at this restaurant. Guess they have only been open for a year. But definitely one I will be making a special trip to! The food did take a little long, but cause everything is made FRESH. Its all authentic Mexican. I was able to meet the owners. They were very hospitable. I tried 2 different meals here. The enchiladas made authentic mexico style and some tacos doradas de papa. (Potato) Also got an order of fried potatoes with cotija cheese and sour cream drizzled with hot salsa. The quest for the best burrito in Central California continues. Nayo's in Mariposa has the appeal and presence of a typical area taqueria. As usual the response to the question, "what's the best thing you have here?" Is, "Everything". I ordered a barbacoa super burrito. A friend was with me. He is a finicky eater who does not appear to be interested in flavor. That being said, he told me his asada burrito without most of the ingredients was, "good". It was like watching my little brother order a hamburger when we were kids. By the time the order was over, it was a grilled cheese sandwich in a hamburger bun... with ketchup. I digress. I went back to this restaurant the next two days, trying the Barbacoa, carnitas, and pollo super burritos. All were good. None were the best burrito I've ever had, but they did present a three-way tie for "best burrito I've had in Mariposa". Their barbacoa was the best protein I tried. I think I'd like to try that in their quesadilla at some point. I'll go back. If I was driving through both Mariposa and Oakhurst with a burrito in the mix, I'd probably plan on eating at Plazuelas in Oakhurst instead, but I wouldn't be disappointed with either option. read more

This place is located in an small, unassuming strip plaza right at one end of Downtown Mariposa. We were looking for a casual dinner & thought burritos sounded good. The interior is again, casual but pretty spacious and can be used for larger parties by the looks of it. We ordered a steak burrito & a steak quesadilla at the counter. The food was brought to our table. Both were really good & filling. The ingredients were fresh & the meat was flavorful. The burrito was about 10-11 bucks & the quesadilla cost more even though it was literally only cheese & steak; the burrito is definitely the better deal, in my opinion. Stopped there yesterday while on a work trip. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla which tasted very good. However, immediately after finishing my food I began to feel sick. This morning I woke up with horrible food poisoning vomiting and diarrhea. I had to call in out sick and will miss work tomorrow as well. The tortas and burritos are very flavorful and filling. Every time I've been here the customer service has been wonderful too. The people running the place are so friendly and welcoming. My one minor complaint was I wished salsa or sour cream came with the quesadilla. Last time I went there it didn't (then again I got the smaller quesadilla so maybe it doesn't come with the smaller one). Usually I need a sauce for my quesadilla but to each their own. I write this as I stand here waiting. I called in my order at 11:49am based on what the restaurant recommended. They make everything from scratch so it takes longer. Even the guy who came in after me got his food already. It is now 12:55pm and still no food. If you're in any kind of a hurry or hungry, do NOT go here. Update: I received my order at 1:00pm. His explanation was they had to make the fries, pico de gallo, and guacamole fresh. It seems to me any restaurant owner should know to have condiments like that ready at the start of your day. The fries truly are homemade but again, there are ways you can have these prepped before hand so you simply drop them in the fryer. I understand not wanting to have food waste but they would likely be busier if the service times were better. The Asada was minimal on my asada fries, more like ground beef than asada and everything was heavy on the salt. read more

The chicken tasted terrible but I figured it was just poorly seasoned and we were both really hungry. My other friend ordered al pastor tacos which he said tasted like barbecue sauce.
