Freshly made, served hot and delicious flavors of Oaxaca. Made with care and time. The young lady that welcomed us was very knowledgeable with the menu. She recommend the dishes we had and true to her word absolutely delicious. Nice and clean with plenty of seating inside. Nice decore with depicting Yosemite iconic sights and Mexican art. Thank you to the chefs and staff. If you please visit and leave us your review.

    Michelada with Pacifica beer. Yum!

Traveling for work I walked over from my hotel for a michelada. In reading the yelp page. I didn't see beer mentioned but when I drove by I seen the beer banners hanging out front. Quiet restaurant with polite staff. I ordered some guacamole since I skipped lunch. I'll come back next time for dinner.

We were driving from Yosemite to home and decided to stop for dinner. There was adequate parking, place was almost full when we walked in. They have an extensive menu. We had a bit of wait for our food but definitely worth it! Flavor was on-point. Ingredients not skimped on. Everything tasted authentic and just reminds me of a really good taco truck that you happen to just pass by, you end up eating there and it just becomes your new favorite stop whenever you're in the area. Worth the stop for sure! Still thinking about those quesa birria tacos!

    Nice inside!

Let's start with the friendly folks who work here... always friendly, helpful and fast! Interior is not whole in the wall as there are nice booths and tables available and large enough for a large group or family whilst visiting near by Bass Lake or Yosemite! their menu is Taqueria style... Including breakfast! Everything here I have tried is Rico/delicious. From the pintos to the refried frijoles... Great stuff! Parking, close to all the local hotels in Oakhurst Definitely a great stop when in the area, and you can skip chipotle :-) If you are in the mood for an actual full-service restaurant, don't miss Casa Velasco Mexican Restaurant in the Pines area of Bass Lake.

Nice staff and love the salsa bar. Good food, and nice amounts for each meal. They were out of chicken the night we ordered, but other than that everything was great!

I wasn't thrilled with the food quality at Los Dos Carnales. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the place seemed clean and well-run. However the food itself just didn't quite do it for me. We got a few tacos and a super burrito to split. The tacos were okay: the pastor was the best one, but the chicken taco had a strange tomato sauce that didn't quite work. The super burrito was also disappointing, with somewhat bland carnitas, and onions that just didn't quite taste right. Based on our experience I'm not sure I can recommend it.

Hole in the wall Hole in the wall. Fast service. Delicious food. Highly recommended the el pastor and cabeza tacos...super juicy. The free salsa bar hits. Watch out for the pickled onion tho, that stuff is deadly spicy. Chips come out hot and pair nicely with their fresh guac. Prices are super reasonable, this spot is def a gem

We just got back from a long day of exploring the park and were famished. Our air bnb host recommended Los 2 Carnales so we thought we'd give it a try. There was a menu board and we ordered at the register. So far so good. Our food, a chili relleno plate and an enchilada plate, were delivered in about 5 minutes - enough time to fill our drinks and to visit the salsa bar. My chili relleno was extremely, no, beyond extremely, disappointing. The pepper wasn't seeded and every bite left me with a mouthful of seeds. I tried my best to eat it but after less than a handful of bites, I just couldn't take the seeds anymore. My husband ordered the enchilada plate with a variety of fillings - steak, al pastor, chicken and cheese. His enchiladas came with a "salad" - a pile of chopped lettuce and tomatoes heaped on top of the enchiladas. He ate some of it but had to dig through it to get to the enchiladas. The enchiladas themselves were fine. Both dinners came with refried beans (looked and tasted like they just came from a can) and flavorless rice. Neither of us ate more than a couple of bites of each. We also ordered a side of guac. While the flavor was ok, it was runny. I originally gave Los 2 Carnales three stars but after rereading this review, I think 2 stars is more than generous. Will I go back? Absolutely not. Should you? It's up to you but I don't recommend it.

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

We decided to try Oakhurst Grill because it was one of the only places still open when we rolled into town. (Places close early here) Service- 2.5/5: Both times I've been here the waitresses have been polite and somewhat attentive. We were seated within 20 mins but had another 15min wait to actually place our order. It seemed like it took awhile to just get started with drinks. They do a high volume here with a large staff so the service is likely inconsistent. Food quality: 3/5 My burger was actually very good, with 1/2lb of quality beef. I would get it again. I've had the chicken Alfredo which was ok, but nothing extraordinary. Steak tips for an appetizer were ok and the crab cakes were flavorful. My vegan friend had the Al Fresco (Tomato, artichoke heart, Mediterranean olive blend, garlic, onion, spinach and mushrooms, balsamic vinegar, served over penne pasta with a side of ciabatta bread.) He barely touched it because it just didn't taste good. Everyone at the table tried it and agreed we wouldn't recommend it. The cheesecake "bites" for dessert is more like a slice of previously frozen cheesecake cut into 2 pieces, with a drizzle of syrup on top. Atmosphere- 4/5: The interior is dated but had a rustic vibe that fits the environment. The outdoor seating has a nice view but the exterior is rather narrow for the size of the tables. Value- 3/5: Pricing is higher but what I would expect near a national park. The potions were generous. Overall- 3/5: I would eat here again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to. It is more geared toward tourists.

While walking in, I thought to myself "it's gorgeous, why didn't we stay here again?" and then remembered because all of their low ratings as a hotel are due to poor service. The receptionist at the entrance is very bleh (didn't even greet us, she just looked at us so we said hello first ). We sat down and ordered. We were the only customers. The girl who took our order was nice enough but lacked professionalism. She just seemed out of it. She didn't write down our order, but a few minutes later came back saying "wait what did you for your entree again?". I'm glad she double checked, but for the price of the food and aesthetic of the restaurant, I expected better service. I ordered the wagyu burger but wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked - I assume they only cook it well-done because that's how it came. It didn't have the juicy buttery flavor of Wagyu, or really any flavor at all. The bread was good. The fries are phenomenal and I liked that more than my burger Carrots & whipped ricotta was good but not great - very flat flavor profile of ricotta, honey, and carrots. I think this dish could've been better with some acidity like a bit of lemon on the side. The chicken pesto penne pasta was good, but still flat. It would be better with cherry tomatoes or something to give it depth. The pasta was cooked perfectly Despite the chicken being absolutely tiny (approx 4"), it was juicy. Wish there was more of it I didn't care for the butternut squash soup but my husband liked it. It had good flavor but was very thin. Overall the place is pretty, but I wouldn't return as the food was very forgettable. It's a shame that the best thing was the side of fries. I'm giving a 4 due to the food tasting clean/quality.

That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!
