My non-desi sister in law went to this shop to get 2 Indian outfits tailored for her engagement and wedding. From the moment she walked into the shop, the shop owner was incredibly rude and purposely charged over $100 more than she has charged my desi friends for the exact same tailoring job. When we got the final product, the clothes were not tailored to fit at all -- everything was incredibly loose! And the most infuriating part was one of the blouses were completely messed up!! Do not go to this shop. There are so many better options in New Hyde Park or Jackson Heights. When I was visiting Long Island for the weekend, I was window shopping in Hicksville on a Saturday night and happened upon Nazzakat. Sonam and Ricky, the owners, are so great. The store has such a wide variety and selection -- I spent many hours there over the weekend and feel as if I barely scratched the surface. After pulling out a few outfits for me to try (all of which were lovely), Sonam was so patient and helpful as I tried each one on, providing her honest opinion. I really appreciated how straightforward and friendly she was. I ended up falling in love with two outfits, even though I had originally only wanted one. There were other outfits that I wanted too, but I knew I had to limit myself. I had some time limits and she was so helpful in making sure the outfits got their alterations in time for me. I was buying a salwar kameez as a gift and the owner knew that I was since we actively spoke about it. She pressured me into buying a suit that had no dupatta. She purposely did not tell me about the no return and no exchange policy. Obviously, if I am buying a gift you'd surely tell me that I need to be sure because there is no return or exchanges. But she saw a young girl who she can scam in the holy month of Ramadan. I came back less than 24 hours later to ask for a refund because my mother did not like it. I was not aware of the policy so I even was okay with an exchange. She admitted she never told me about the no return policy but said I should have checked the receipt. She gave me the receipt AFTER i paid, and why would the information not be verbalized. She scammed me in Ramadan. She will reap what she sows. It is not the money, but the principle of being dishonest in this time and given her condition. Beware and never shop here. Also she doesn't wear a mask for some reason but lists covid as a reason for not taking back the unopened dress. Nice. Definitely racist too since I am Bengali and she is Pakistani. I will never shop here again and hope the reader does not either. read more

Where do I start with this place? I went to Nazzakat after frustrating experiences with a few places that don't understand the concept of customer service. When I came to Nazzakat both Ricky and Sonam were very friendly, helpful and above all patient with my needs as a very nervous bride to be. The store has a huge collection of beautiful designs; and the owners are very helpful with suggestions and flexible in making changes to make your dream come true. Moreover, they were very respectful of my budget and helped me figure out a bridal outfit that was within it, instead of pushing for more. I was so impressed by their customer service and how they went the extra mile to make sure I have my dream dress, I kept coming back to get my groom's outfit , my friends' saris and I am looking forward to going back for all my indian outfit needs in the future. Sonam (the owner) is an ABSOLUTE pleasure to work with and has a special knack for keeping her customers at ease. We all come in different sizes and shapes and all of Nazzakat's clothing is fully customizable. From the color, to the fabric used all the way down to the type of thread work! Sonam will never allow a customer to purchase an item unless it flatters them in every aspect and takes her time outfitting each and every single customer. Lastly, most clothing store owners move on to the next once a sale is made. This is certainly not the case with Sonam! Once a purchase is made, customers are offered to return on the day of their event, so that Sonam can help with dressing her client! From tying sarees to draping duputtas in a multitude of traditional and modern styles, this wonder woman does it all! I had an Indian wedding to attend and this was the 4th place I came to find a saree. I can't remember her name but she was quiet helpful and had a nice selection. My only issue is that you really have to negotiate at any of these stores on the prices. The lady sewed my saree pleats for me to make it easier to get ready the day of the ceremony which was pretty awesome. Make sure they take your correct measurements bc she had to adjust my blouse when I went to pick it up, and she did it on the spot. I'd recommend this place. read more

I had a vision of my bridal lengha and I also had a budget...Sonam was more than accomodating and instead of trying to convince me to raise my budget, she showed me what she could do to lessen the cost of her lenghas in order to get me what i needed. I have to admit I am kind of late posting this review. But, better late than never. I have been coming to Nazzakat for years now. I prefer this boutique over the rest simply for the fact they have great selection and their ability to customize is amazing. The owner Sonam is great to work with, she has great eye for detail and is extraordinary every step of the way. I got all of my wedding outfits custom made here and all 12 of my bridesmaid outfits as well (Wedding May 2014). I trusted Sonam with all of them.  She walked me through every step of the way, even when I had jitters she calmed me and kept me on track. Till this day I go to her for all my indian wear needs. I am currently 8 and half months pregnant and needed an outfit for my Baby Shower. I had an idea in my mind and few pictures from Pinterest. Sonam made it happen in a matter of a week. I cant say enough on how dependable this place is. I have been to other boutiques and their false promises, crazy prices and failure to deliver on time disappointed me every time. I had been looking for an outfit for a few parties coming up for the next few months. I went to the store and picked out two outfits, both of which needed to be altered. Nazzakat altered my outfits free of charge even though they sent it to a tailor twice to add sleeves with lining and adjust the fitting of my arms after the sleeves were added. Sonam, the owner, helped me with all of my fittings and was very sweet and helpful. Everyone at the store has been helpful and takes time to make it a one on one experience. I went to this store to shop for clothing for an Indian wedding. As this is the first Indian wedding I've ever attended, I was clueless! The staff here is tremendously helpful! They helped me try on many outfits before I settled on a beautiful Sari. Because I don't know how to wrap a Sari, they pinned and sewed it in all the right places and tailored it to fit me perfectly! They also helped me pick out accessories. Super helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend this store! read more
