I Graduated from NC nails and esthetics back in January (2026)! My experience there was awesome the teachers are super sweet and will show you anything you have questions on. It wasn't as expensive as I was thinking it would be, I was full time so it was a little cheaper too! It's awesome being a student here because esthetic students can ask you to model for them and you basically can get free services done for having them practice on you. I made life long friendships here, I'm actually working in a salon right now with two of them :) thank you for guiding me in this new journey! My daughter recently completed her esthetics training at NC Nails Esthetics Academy, and we are both incredibly grateful for the experience she had there. The instructors are knowledgeable, kind, and truly supportive. They genuinely care about their students and help them build confidence along the way. The hands-on training is excellent--students have real opportunities to practice and develop skills that truly prepare them for the workforce. I recently visited this nail academy after calling ahead around 3:30 and specifically being advised to come in at 4:30 PM for a $40 French tip set. I arrived as instructed and in the end, the service ended up feeling rushed because the school closes at 6 PM, which I had no idea because I was told was time to come. Because of the time, the work was being rushed toward the end and I even had two different people working on my hands to try to finish before closing. I completely understand that this is a training environment and that students are learning, so I was patient during the process, which took about an hour and an half. The student working on my nails was kind and trying her best, and an instructor, Kim, also worked on one of my hands at one point. My concern came at the end when I noticed that the French tips on one hand were noticeably different from the other (thicker on some nails and thinner on others). I politely explained that I liked the nails overall but asked if the design could be corrected so both hands matched. Because they were closing at 6pm sharply the instructor said she could not stay to correct my concern. The student working on my nails tried her best to offer. Because I understood they were closing, I told them don't worry about it and perhaps we could negotiate on the price because I did not feel comfortable paying full service on a rushed job who could not fix my concern. A small concern that appeared to be something that could have been fixed fairly quickly. Instead of offering to correct the design, the instructor, whose name was Kim, told me that I "knew what I signed up for" and insisted I still pay the full $40. A option of paying 35 and being banned was also given. When I asked about having the nails removed, I was told a soak-off would cost extra and nail clippers were brought out to cut them off. During this disagreement, another student who was not the one doing my nails involved herself and accused me of arriving 20 minutes late to my appointment, which was not true. I arrived based on the time I was given when I called earlier that day. I understand this is a learning environment and did not expect perfection. However, I do believe customers should still be treated respectfully when they express a concern. A simple correction or conversation could have resolved the situation easily, but instead the situation escalated unnecessarily and police were eventually called over a small price disagreement. My issue was not with the student who worked on my nails, but with how management handled the situation. Horrible customer service! And in the end, I payed what I was supposed to pay anyways (30$) read more

Amazing school. Will teach what you need as well as what you want. Instructors were personable and professional. Graduated 9/2021 and started working the same week with a salon found through their resources and still work there today. Took both exams within a week of graduating and had my license by 10/2021. I went to this school to get my nail tech license. I looked at all the schools in the area and ultimately decided on this one because this school focused solely on nails, rather than on cosmetology with nails as an afterthought. The instructors are knowledgeable, kind, and will push you to do your best. They are up to date on the latest trends and techniques in the nail business, and set you up for success in the industry. I was able to pass the board exams on the first try AND they gave me the tools I needed to secure a job upon graduation. I went full time and was able to finish in under 2 months. If you are looking to get licensed to do nails, I cannot recommend NC Nail Academy enough! read more
