Since moving to Charlotte, it's been very hard to find a nail spa that can actually provide the service I'm used to. I'm very particular about shaping and the smoothness of my nail sets & I make sure to emphasize this with every nail tech. Nancy Nails seems to be the only shop in Charlotte who can give me what I need. 1st visit: I was very skeptical but figured I would give them a try. I had a gentleman who sits in the 2nd row from the front. He did a decent enough job for me to not have to ask for them to be redone. 2nd visit: I specifically asked for the gentleman who sits in the row right before the last against the wall. It had been suggested that he was the best nail tech in the shop. I showed him a picture of the shape I wanted & emphasized on needing the edges sharp not round. No other shop in Charlotte has been able to provide this to me nor do their pictures show their capabilities to do so. I ended up getting a soft white acrylic powder that is pure beauty & my nails are the exact shape I asked for. My only downside was the cost -- I don't mind paying for quality work but I paid $20 more than I did for any other shop I've been to that provided the same work. Granted I'm no longer in TX but whew ! Will I be back? I'm sure but it shouldn't be just one person in a nail shop who can do perfect nails. read more

(I tried to leave 0 Stars) My gel manicure chipped after 6 days and the manager told me she couldn't rectify the situation because "they don't make the nail polish, they just put it on." Obviously the staff's skills are not up to par if the polish you put on did not last me a week. She went on to blame my natural oils to be the reason my nails chipped, however, my nails have never had this experience while I attended school in Durham and got my nails done in Durham. They did not show any care for retaining their customers as well! I have visited Nancy for over 3 years and the people I have recently seen since moving back to Charlotte are not the people who used to work here regularly. So this is my 2nd time coming to Nancy, first time coming alone. I'm a male and I like to keep my personal hygiene up along with my appearance. I came on Thursday( 11/30) to get a simple manicure, by Sunday morning (12/04) my nails had started to lift and and come undone. I came in today(12/5) just to get the polish off and get them repainted, not a full mani. The guy told me that he wasn't going to do it and it's coming up because I peel it. That doesn't make sense, 1) I shouldn't be able to peel gel polish if I just had them done less than 5days ago, 2) why would I peel my money off my fingers, and 3) just fix the error that your establishment made. Not to mention, she nicked my skin on 3 of my nails. I'm big on customer service, but I'm also big on producing quality work, but both was bad. He just slapped polish on my hand and they all have the ridges in them, bumps in the polish, etc etc. I will not be back nor would I recommend them to anyone. Today is 1/22/2022 and i just left Nancy's . I'm so disappointed and quit frankly disgusted. I went in for a simple manicure and the women who did my nails had I'm not sure how to even describe but in her thumbs on both hands under her nails she had what looks like crusted up red blooody clusters . And cuts all up her hands I'm not one to judge but i politely asked her to put gloves on which she should have had in initially honestly I'm not one to judge but nobody should be coming to work like that i paid for manicure and left but honestly i wanted to quit the session the whole way through . It was honestly really dead in there . Last time i came was about 5 months ago for a pedicure which seemed to be fine rushed and they could've . I don't even know why i tried to give them a third chance. They're not sanitary at all . read more

Let me start off by saying i don't know anything about the services here at all aside from the one i received. I live in the steele creek area so it was a little bit of a hike for me to get here. I was told it was a girl here by the name of Jenny that does extension lashes for only $75. As i walked in it was super crowded i proceeded to say im here for an appointment with Nancy and everyone looked like she is off today,im like how could that be when i spoke to her on the phone i have an appointment and all then i finally figured out well duh her name is Jenny , i couldn't figure out for the life of me where did i get this Nancy name from , well duh again, the name of the salon is Nancy nail spa, the guy who appeared to be the owner when i mentioned oh never mind her name is Jenny he made a joke and said hey we don't all look alike, my bad i stated as everyone in the shop laughed.Long story short i will definitely make that hike back to let jenny do my lashes i enjoyed her conversation, she definitely did a great job on my lashes her fill ins are only $40, generally these type of lashes run you minimum $125 with $60 fill ins. It's going on 2 and a half weeks now and my lashes are still fabulous. I took a picture of them today so you can see how they look going on almost my third week. How do I manage to get the exact same thing done once a month and the price change? A simple full set and pedi cost me $60...then $80...and finally $100. Check your receipts! I caught the man who did my nail adding a tip to the final cost on his pay screen that I obviously wasn't supposed to see. Gratuity should be just that...OPTIONAL. My receipt didn't show it though.. just $100 even. What taxes were taken out? Will be contacting the BBB for sure. read more

I will no longer be patriotizing here for pedicures. They don't massage your feet or ankles any longer. Just clip and paint toe nails and a 2 minute scrub to remove dead skin for $50. Totally unacceptable! One star is too much because they don't even deserve that. read more

The other workers do my nails occasionally and they do good work as well, but I prefer Nancy. She shaped my nails according to the size of my fingers. I didn't say anything at the time as I didn't know the entire story but before I left I heard it from Nancy herself out loud . I loved this salon! & Swore by them @ one point. Until one weekend Nancy went out of town. She left some younger guys there who I'd never seen before. & I told him how I wanted my nails done & shaped. Very nicely, & he told me he couldn't do what I was asking him. & said to me if I didn't like it, I could leave! The lady next to me getting her nails done looked at him & me in shock. So i grabbed my things & ran across the street to LN Nail. I hadn't been back to Nancy's except two times for my brows only. I love how the mom does my eyebrows. I am NOT a fan of this establishment. I came here today to celebrate a friends bday on the recommendation of a friend that frequents there quite often. We walked in and they seemed to know her well. She told them 3 manis and pedis. 1. While I was getting my pedicure the young lady spilled the nail solution all over my jeans and stained them. 2. She rushed my entire experience. I decided to do a gel manicure on my nails. What aWASTE of money. She didn't even put a base coat on my nails, nor did she wait for the light to go off before she asked me if I was done.. Smh she charged me 52 dollars. That was not a manicure. I didn't get a hand massage, she wouldn't even have clipped my nails if I didn't ask her to, to make sure the length matched my other hand. I was literally done in 5 min. I waited for my friends to finish.. They even had their eyebrows done. They were charged 49 dollars. Eyebrows are 7 dollars, therefore I paid 10 dollars extra and they received not just more services but a better service. The owner came out to talk to me- A she wouldn't even listen to what I had to say. B. for some reason she is under the impression that I only paid 5 dollars extra. C. She tells me my friends have better nail beds that's why they paid less they didn't need their cuticles done. Ummmm I get my nails done every 2 weeks. They were not in need of anything that would justify that high of a price difference . D.She replies-- well ,what you want your 5 dollars back? HORRIBLE customer service. I would never set foot in that place again. My only regret is that I tipped her.. If I knew they were robbing me blind, I wouldn't have. To be honest this place deserved no stars..the only thing that made me feel good was the fact the had a sign on the door that stated "no children unless they're getting service" but they let my kids in anyway! So before service I asked them could they use a new filter and buffer to do service on me. I am a Cosmetology student and I know that cleanliness is a requirement of state board health regulations. Also, I don't feel comfortable with the cross contamination of bacteria. It's not a boujie thing I've been battling a blood disease so recommend this. Anyhow they did obtain a new buffer but wouldn't change out the filler pointing out that a corner of the filler was new. I never got an attitude or acted out besides my kids were there..I simply asked politely and he stated" I'm not going to use a new one on you, you're going to pay $5 for me to use it" I stated that I had experience with infection and I'm in Cosmetology school so could he just use it.. he said " no I'm not not for a $25 service no" mind you they were upset because I opted out of the $45 full set for gel. Then he showed me a whole drawer full and said he had a lot of brand new ones but weren't going to waste them on me. He said go somewhere else and get out. I started gong to Nancy's for my eyebrows...they are THICK...lol. I have NEVER been disappointed! I leave feeling like a ROCK STAR! lol Recently I went to have my nails done-acrylics-they lasted a whopping 4 weeks before i REALLY needed a fill-in. When i went back I got a gel fill-in and that was 2 weeks ago and the left hand is just beginning to show a bit. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
