I had built a very very pricey computer on my own, and I was having problems installing Windows. I came across NCC because I've seen it passing by at Fred Meyer's and I also used Yelp. My frustration of having a very expensive PC came down to bringing it to a computer shop to get it fixed. The price was very reasonable, and the guy there was able to diagnose and fix everything all within a day. He got my computer working perfectly after a couple days of bashing my head into the wall trying to get the Windows OS up and running. Don't expect a big PC supermarket though. These guys are a local PC repair shop and it definitely shows. Their knowledge of their craft definitely helped me and they're worth a shot if you have computer problems. read more

I needed help for my computer. First, I tried to repair it myself, having been good with that back in the "good old days". I quickly saw that I needed to give in to the greater expense. I'm so happy I did. I was afraid that I would be w/o my laptop for a week or so. But, after checking it out and showing me some of the problems, he said that I could have it the next morning. I came back to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised. The cost was very fair and he was great. Two other points . . A) I had a difficult time understanding him for tree reasons. 1) Strong accent. 2) His mask. 3) My old, not-so-good hearing. B) He is the MOST coronavirus conscious person I have ever seen . . by far!!! When I arrived, his door was locked with a note to knock. So, I did and he came to open it and told me to go to the opposite corner since he had a customer at the counter. When I was paying the next day, he even had me pick out a fresh pen from a container. Then, after I'd signed, he motioned for me to return it to another container with "used" pens. Amazingly scrupulous! If everyone would be so conscientious . . . I've driven past these guys countless times over the past 10 years, and never seriously considered them as a repair spot. I don't even know why, either--modest signage? Small space? Who knows? But the Yelp reviews are good and now I can certainly see why. I dropped off my desktop PC here night before last for some virus removal. I picked up a worm somewhere along the way that had been hijacking all my search results and quite a few other screens on my desktop, mostly looking for clicks to who knows what. The problem was, I couldn't find any info on deleting it, because it kept hijacking search results. Then I picked up some other malware that prevented me from even using my task bar or Windows Explorer, and, without other PCs to use to diagnose it, I pretty much gave up on cleaning it up myself. These guys have a standard $89 cleanup service where they rid you of all malware. I hate to pay that much for something I feel like I should always do myself, but I had conceded defeat. I'd actually just switched off my PC to see if I could live off the phone and stop using the PC (and the internet) as such a blatant procrastination tool. This lasted quite a while--I managed to go a year without a home PC. The guy at NCC laughed at me because my copy of Windows was so badly out of date. Thankfully, they just let it sit and download updates in the background after they cleaned it up, so, not only did I get back a spanking clean box, but it was fully up to date as well. The Windows updates actually complicated the process of bringing my speakers back to life, but that's nothing to do with NCC. Best of all, they did all this in well under 24 hours. Fast, solid, and reasonably priced. Happy to know these guys are here. read more

I may be a simpleton when it comes to computers, but every time I have an issue, like today, my problems have always been resolved here. Prices & turnaround seem to be acceptable to good, I figure $100, and a next turnaround seems right. Owner is a straight shooter, gives you a pretty good idea what's going on & turnaround time. I went in and asked for a custom high end computer to use specifically for doing 3D autocad work. I told them that I needed a powerful video card to be able to spin my models in 3D space. So for the price of a high end computer I got a video card so old that it doesn't have an HDMI connection and I have had it in twice for the video card not working at all and to replace the rebuilt motherboard that was in it. Now, one again I am getting not image to my monitor. I would recommend avoiding this place like the plague. read more

A dead easy five stars and a perfect example of why it always pays to at least call a local small business before going to one of the big box computing hellhole retailers, which nowadays all basically seem to utterly suck in nearly every way. We needed thermal paste for a CPU. We called around to all of the usual big box places including the obvious choice a mile or two to the east and nobody had it. Think about this. Places that supposedly "specialize" in computers etc. don't have something as basic, cheap, and common as this. We ended up at NCC by accident later on and guess what? A gigantic quantity in stock that he pulled out for us from behind the counter as soon as we asked if he had any. I was floored, and delighted! If only we had remembered about NCC earlier. Remember this place next time you need something before you waste your time, patience and sanity trying to deal with what has become of computing "retail." I went in there to have my Dell laptop fixed. There was something wrong with the screen which I described to them. The employee proceeded to check out my computer and told me I had a bad hard drive and by fixing it, it would resolve the screen issue. They took longer than they had promised and I had to keep calling to get updates on what was going on. So I picked it up a couple days later and I didn't get the chance to use it. I was busy with work and getting ready for vacation. Nothing seemed amiss when I used it before I left until I tried to check my flight information. Then the screen starts acting weird again. I wasn't able to take it in, but when I finally did they same employee claimed I had never told him about the screen problem. He said that just the hard drive was bad and that the screen problem was not based on the hard drive. Which is not what he told me the first time. He continued to try to rush me into giving him the computer to run diagnostics to which I asked how much it would cost. He refused to give me any sort of estimate for diagnostic testing etc. I decided that I would rather just have my old hard drive and I would take my business elsewhere. My old hard drive is now basically useless. My advice is find somewhere else to get your computer fixed or you will end up just buying another one. read more

I've gone to the gentlemen 3 times already to try to get my Acer all in one desktop fixed. it had hard drive issue the first time, and a mother board issue the second time. Both times he had claimed to have fixed the issue when the symptoms were the exact same. Now after bringing it in a third time not even 2 months have passed since my last visit and the same issue has come up.... this is seriously an outrage. After dropping nearly 400$ just in repairs for this computer I've called it quits and will be buying a new computer. NCC makes promises that they can not keep. It seems like it's really a hit or miss, for me...mostly miss. I would not recommend going here for repairs. He does however give good advice on how to maintain a computer and is quite friendly... But he makes promises he can't keep. read more

Each time my last computer had problems, I had the same person come and work on it. I thought he did OK then the last time he came, it crashed a week later. He charged me $100 to tell me it was fried and there was nothing he could do! I had a problem with my other computer and the warranty just expired. Hewlett Packard wouldn't even answer a question unless I signed up with their tech support service. I took it to the store next to Fred Meyer because I knew of no one else and it was convenient. Robert did an amazing job. I have a PC that runs WinXP still (don't ask me why) and it took a dive on me. I can usually fix computers pretty well but this had me completely baffled and I wasn't about to try and find a new motherboard or cpu for a WinXP machine. I had my THIRD PC worked on, and I'm really ashamed to say that I should of gone to ANGIES list. I found a way better PC repair shop that I'm not sure I can name on here, but it was cheaper, faster, and most efficient in getting my son's pc worked on. I told them I wasn't able to drop it off on a weekday, and the owner Eric? said they were open on a Saturday too. I wasn't expecting to get my infected pc back so soon, with anti virus installed too for no extra charge. They were the most pleasant, articulate, and reasonable people I have dealt with. Computer people are known to be difficult but NOT the ones that I found on Angies list. Not sure If I can say there competitors name but it starts with a Valley....Just trust me when I say I have looked around and NO ONE can beat them, even considering they are in Lynnwood I was impressed. In the past we've taken the computers from our office here. I brought my son's laptop in because there were a couple of malware programs on there that I couldn't remove as well as viruses I knew were there but couldn't see. I relayed this to the guy at the counter, was assured they would be addressed as well as setting a set point schedule and was told they'd call me when it was done. Wasn't contacted the following day so I called and told it was done. Picked it up then the following morning, I booted it up and tried to download Minecraft. Well, Minecraft won't let you download their game if there's viruses so I downloaded AVG and there were 93 threats on the computer - trojans, adware, malware!!! I called NCC and was first told that he remembered my computer and that they had to reinstall the OS. NOT TRUE! I don't have the discs so if they'd reinstalled it, they would've charged me for Windows. When I told him this, he passed me over to the tech who said that all I asked for was to have the 2 programs removed. Why on earth would I ONLY want those viruses removed??? Apparently, it's $89 to get ALL the viruses removed. Unbelieveable. Not only will we not be taking our home devices there, I'll not be taking my office's computers there either. read more
