If it were not for NCG Cinema, I probably would never go to Alton Square Mall. NCG is on the backside of the mall and has its own private entrance on the outside. NCG is a 8 screen theatre. The seats are cushy comfortable with foot rest that you can control. They also have a small snack table with a cup holder attached to each chair. Having this table makes it so much easier to enjoy the movie. Trying to hold on to your popcorn and soda, while watching a movie is always a challenge. The screen is a good size for boutique sized theaters. The sound is also adjusted to a good volume. It's not overly load or to soft that you cannot hear each and every line. Concessions are expensive like any movie house. Soda and popcorn are self-serve. They give you a soda glass and an empty popcorn tub and you fill it yourself. If you like buttery popcorn, you're in control of how much you add to your tub. Bonus, they have a small bar that serves, beer, wine and a variety of canned seltzer's. NCG is the only movie house in Alton. Even if it weren't, I'd still be back. The staff is friendly and the theatre itself is one of the cleanest movie houses I have visited. read more

Concessions were a little expensive and I was sad they didn't have any seasoning/salt the butter dispenser was also not working or maybe needed refilled? But the workers seemed happy and the reclining seats are comfortable. I'd honestly say this theatre is the better one in the area. read more

Senior day is good value and the seating is top notch. Grand children like the concession stand.

Upscale movie theater in the old Sears at Alton Mall. Theater features 8 screens with leather reclining chairs. Seating is assigned (like an airplane). Soda and popcorn are self serve with free refills. The theater was comfortable and my seat was great for watching the movie. There is plenty of foot space so easy to get past people. There were only 50 seats in the room. Not sure if all are that small. read more

Poor customer service by staff and managers. I was to take a baby sippy cup back to the car. The baby is 23 months. The same baby opened a $6 pack of m&ms. I was told I had to purchase the candy that should not be accessible to 23 month at the entrance to purchase movie tickets. By this time I requested a $50 refund and left movie. read more

Comfy seats! Prefer to go on Tuesday evenings for the lower priced tickets. Seats are usually pretty clean.

My mother took my daughter and her cousin to the movies today. She purchased an OVERPRICED popcorn and asked if they had bags so she could give each kid a bit of the popcorn that she BOUGHT. They told her they no longer could give her anything. So my mother proceeded to grab a few bags out of her car so that they each could have their own bag while enjoying the movie. She was yelled at upon coming back in and the woman proceeded to harrass her and yell at her that she couldn't bring those in. We will not be coming back. EVER. I will be taking my business to Jerseyville where the help isn't harassing their customers and where we can do what whatever we want with the popcorn that costs as much as a full tank of gas. when they first opened and got started it was great , they had snacks, drinks, popcorn was fresh. just a few days ago we went to see a movie, they were out of everythin. popcorn wasn't fresh, Icey machines were barely working, no candy or the normal snacks. whats happening to the theater? read more

It's a really nice theater but I'm pretty short and I had trouble seeing the whole screen. Next I'll know to sit further down.

Horrible theatre , seating is almost all the same level so it makes it hard for someone short with someone tall sitting in front of them. They have a very low selection of food and you can hear the movies in the next theater in all the theaters. Go to Edwardsville or granite city way way better then this place read more
