This spot is funny and Delaware kitsch, and really does hit the mark for what you're loooking for, if you're looking for a spot in Delaware for Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch that feels authentic to the area. The food is good, and the proportions used to be good. However, I ordered the salad sampler which used to have a generous portion, it used to fill the plate, its lettuce with 3 salad choices and a toasted pitta. They used to give you about a 1/4-1/2 cup of each salad. But the last two times I ordered it, the portion was about half of that. The cost of the salad is $17, it used to be worth it, but now I wouldn't order it again. I asked the waitress about it and she said the owner cut back on the proportions. This was NOT a good idea! This dish is mainly vegetarian. So a couple of tablespoons of beets w a sprinkle of feta cheese, quinoa and the no tunafish was not worth the money. I left hungry. The owner would have been better off increasing the price by $1 or 2. It would be a while before or if I go back. As the week winded down and my friends dwindled, outings diminished. The last of my friends to leave before I headed out brought me here as it was a favorite of theirs. I was along for the ride and happy to try whatever out. Upon entry, be careful and watch your step, you need to step down. This place can be quite busy, when you approach the counter it all depends on whether they have a table ready or not. Or you could order to go and wait, or just get yourself a coffee and grab a free seat to enjoy. Dining in house feels like you are in a warm, welcoming dining room. Waiting for the food to be prepared. With it being busy our server stopped by really quickly to give us menus, take our drink order, and to tell us she would be back shortly to get our orders. Usually in a place like this I would just go with a water or sweet tea, however, I was urged to try one of their juices. I looked over that section of the menu quickly and decided on the Beauty Balm. To me it sounded like the tastiness on the menu. Strawberries, raspberries, carrot, and orange. This is to be full of vitamins A, C, and E with help with healthy skin, hair and nails. I have no idea it that is true, but it tasted quite good and I made sure that I didn't down this before I had a chance to try the food. Speaking of food, I went with American Breakfast. With this meal you get your choice on two eggs of any style, choice of meal (bacon, thick cut bacon, turkey bacon, sausage links, ham, vegan sausage, or sliced avocado), sweet potato hash, and toast. For mine, I went with dippy eggs (that's sunny side up for those that don't know), and bacon for my choices. However, I believe the day I was here they were out of the sweet potato hash, so I ended up getting red potatoes, which I wasn't going to complain about. After some tasting, adding of salt and pepper, I started to dive in. With the toast buttered I broke those yolks. It didn't matter what combination of food you did, the taste combinations were almost endless. I didn't consume all the toast at once, I made sure to keep some so that I could make sure none of that yolk would go to waste. This was a very satisfying meal and could get me on the breakfast bandwagon, but I'm just not a morning person. You really got to get me about mid afternoon...so more of a brunch person. read more

The two guys behind the juice bar didn't acknowledge us until I had to ask them if we could order drinks. The one guy seemed annoyed as if I was bothering him. Didn't get any water for about 15 minutes. they didn't clean the counter from the last customers, so we were sitting at a dirty counter. No one cared. Drinks took 30 minutes. Had to ask them twice where our bloody Mary's were? The one guy mumbled something about waiting for the shrimp and bacon from the kitchen. Why should this take 25 minutes?. No communication from anyone. total disaster. Don't waste your money. Eggs Benedict and American breakfast were underwhelming and mediocre. Stay far away from this place. Easily the best place in Lewes for breakfast. Just off the main drag it is easy to find and it is well worth a visit. The place is open and friendly and manages to be warm and friendly while decorated with a collection of mix and matched style. Like you've wandered into a friendly home form the 1960's. The food is a wonderful mix of breakfast basics and stylized elements. There are vegan and vegetarian options but they also do meat dishes. The effect is a feeling of being welcome regardless of how you feel. Price for a breakfast or lunch runs about $15. Part of me wants to have open comparisons to some of the other places in town for breakfast but that would seem to be against the pleasant vibe Nectar gives off. We stopped here for lunch carry out after a dolphin boat tour! I ordered a chicken avocado blt on gluten free bread for my husband. It was fresh and a good combination of ingredients for him. He also liked the chips that came with them. I ordered the avocado toast and I was hoping to substitute it for a fried (over hard) egg instead of poached. Unfortunately my order still came with a poached egg. My order also came with some seasoned rice which was good. We also had a gluten free raspberry muffin, which was good. I asked the person at the counter about lemonade/limeade options and she did not really give me any opinions about them. I like they have espresso for lattes and freshly pressed juice (some places only have regular coffee, blah). My only wish is for them to get whip cream; my daughter likes pancakes with whip cream! We were excited to try this place but the service was a bit slow and the younger waitresses and busboys were less attentive and aware than I'd like them to be. For instance our food came before our drinks and the busboy was carrying a chair to put at the end of another table and knocked our booth somewhat hard and startled us. Bfast was ok I was not super impressed with the pancakes. I also ordered an iced chai latte and it was very weak and watered down. The saving grace,for me for this place was the juice bar. You can make your own juices as well as I was impressed with their menu of available juices. I would like to return to try more items on the breakfast menu as well as the juices. Another great find in Lewes DE that I think is worth the drive from the other beach cities to experience. The first time I came here yearssss ago, I had one of their famous bloody Mary's that was packed with bacon, shrimp and other goodies - an entire meal in itself. No photo this time around but highly recommend trying at least one. The decor is cozy and inviting, much like their mother's restaurant Station on Kings, or vice versa as this place came first. The service is quick and the staff very accommodating. And the food is great too. No matcha here, but if you're a coffee drinker, you're in luck. @Nectar, can you offer matcha too? Essentially, they were overcooked, which had them dark brown on the outside and dry on the inside, as opposed to fluffy. There was nothing included for them in terms of syrup or butter or anything else. The bacon was also slightly overcooked, though the sweet potato hash I found was undercooked. The juices, however, were good. I don't regret ordering because of the omelette, but I wouldn't do it again. read more

We sat down and I couldn't help but notice how cute it was inside :) We all got fresh juice mimosas: pineapple, cantelope and strawberry. All were delicious but wish we could get more in our glasses! My friend is vegan and she loved that this place served vegan options and booze haha. I got the steak and eggs. Delicious steak cooked a perfect medium rare. What a great find! My wife and I wanted to have lunch after a long drive and walk around Lewes. We found Nectar just in time. Super loud, slow service, increasingly rude service, and average food quality. This place used to be pretty good, but over the past two years, it has gone way down and sad to say this year is my last time I'll ever go back. Want to enjoy a fresh squeezed juice after sitting down? Be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes, get a smaller than it used to be juice, and get attitude when it's delivered to you. Want some French toast, but they only have blueberry compote French toast and ask if you can have regular French toast? Be prepared to be told no and get attitude. Want to have conversation with other people your table? Be prepared to yell very loudly and still struggle to carry on a conversation. And bring your wallet, cause prices are sky high for the small portions. Not worth it anymore, sorry. Giving 2 stars because the food is not yet awful. read more

A great little quirky spot in Lewes! I came here for brunch and was not disappointed. We were seated in a little nook area in one corner of the restaurant. We ordered 5 juices for the table - which we all loved (though a bit pricey IMO). I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with mushrooms that was really filling, despite not having a meat protein. The sweet potato chips were also some of the best I've ever had. The other people at my table gave good feedback about their bean burger, grilled cheese with sweet potato hash, and salad tester. I'm taking a star off the review just because the one woman behind the juice bar making the juices / smoothies was a bit unfriendly to us and talking very loudly - we were in the opposite corner of the restaurant and could hear her almost yelling to (at?) other guests.
