cute restaurant... however, the food was lack luster. One of us got the curry chicken sandwich and they said it had no flavor... same with the turkey reuben .. nothing to write home about. My issue was the tomato jam chicken sandwich... the menu says it has "all natural chicken"... silly me I guess but I thought it was grilled chicken breast or something.. it was chicken thigh and pink.. but like raw looking pink... the waitress said it was cooked all the way but I was icked out at that point and didn't touch it. I think they should have that said on the menu since I wouldn't have ordered if it was thigh. Maybe I would need to come back and try the breakfast food since that looked good. read more

My first visit to Honey's on a Monday for breakfast/lunch and I am so glad we went. We were lucky to get parking right out front. We arrived around 11:30 and got seated immediately and there were a few open tables still left so a good time to go. I would say the greeter was not super friendly and it took a good 10 plus minutes for someone to come to the table. A waitress that noticed that we had not been helped for awhile caught my eye as I was looking for our server stopped by and took our drink order and apologized for the wait and shared that most servers were just coming on duty. So that was the only negatives I have for our lunch. The restaurant is not super large but it is very cute. Has a lot of cute decorations and a good feel, although I am not a big fan of plastic over the seat coverings but I understand it makes it easier to keep it clean. I ordered a western omelette (don't forget to tell them to add cheese or you don't get any) and potatoes and a biscuit. Also had a glass of the fresh squeezed OJ and it was perfect. The food was excellent and the portion size was good, my only comment was that the biscuit could have been a bit more cooked but the taste was divine. My husband had the reuben and fries and his was very good also. The cost was a little over $50 so not somewhere I would go daily for breakfast but it is located in the tourist area so to be expected. Third choice as we wanted Eggcellent,but, they were closed for employee appreciation day. Went across the street to Olive and Oats but that was very limited coffee and sandwich shop. Spouse saw this one on line and it was closer ( very close actually) than going to Rehoboth or Dewey. Sat immediately comfortable and next to the window. I must say it was more than I could have hoped for. Touristy yet cozy ambiance. Service was fast and coffee was refilled almost immediately, Eggs Benedict for me of course with a sausage side and Tea The Tea was really really good. I had the Honey tea pot, they had several choices I can't remember them. Just use caution with the pot mine was metal and the handle got really hot. The spouse had Chesapeake Benedict with Latkas. She said it was excellent and the Latakia was huge. She had to bring most of the Latakia and crab home. It was very busy but the staff kept up. $ 59 plus tip for Breakfast , but you in a tourist town and this was close to downtown. We found this restaurant using Yelp (so thanks yelpers!) walked right in to be seated on a Tuesday morning around 11ish. A large menu with lots of choices but knew I had to try the Latka and wanted an omelette so went with the roasted red pepper. The food came out quick and was hot and incredibly delicious. You really ought check out Honey's whilst in the Lewes, Delaware environs. I'm pretty sure that their hours are 7AM until 3PM daily. We visited again on New Year's Eve which was a Tuesday at 12 noon. They were busy, yet we were seated immediately upon checking in and our order was taken within 5 minutes. Our waitress was attentive, but 2 other servers still checked on us and asked whither we needed coffee or anything. I had Eggs Benedict served on a bed of Latka with mushrooms, red pepper, cheese, and spinach which was absolutely delicious. My wife got 2 eggs, toast, and latka. I didn't mention that we were served within 15 minuof our order having been taken. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, and someone whom I've seen here on several occasions in the past, likely a co-owner, recognized me and said it was good to see us again. This is a place to come for a filling breakfast or lunch during the aforementioned hours where you don't say to yourself "My God, What have I done?" such as with a fast food establishment. We both had coffee which was freshly brewed. Our total came to $50, however I'm willing to pay for value, particularly if I won't be hungry again for many hours! Walking into this place was very exciting. The restaurant itself is super cute and I think I was expecting way more. When we walked in the hostess was friendly, greeted us and sat us. The waitress on the other hand was definitely not as friendly. It felt really awkward sitting there and she didn't give us the warm feeling that she wanted to even be serving us. If you like any other type of creamer, besides half-and-half, bring your own. The food was way too much, but wasn't the wow factor taste wise. I enjoy visiting Honey's for lunch, however, don't let the 2 x $$ signs fool you for their breakfast prices. They are very pricey for basic breakfast items and subpar quality like pancakes, which aren't the best in the area and they break into pieces as you try to eat them. A three stack with two breakfast sausages and a kind of potato pancake is $25.00. Blueberry pancakes with bacon is $22.00. A small glass of fresh squeezed OJ is $9.00, and Eggs Benedict $16.00. I'm heavily tied in the industry and these are around the highest charges for the quality that I have experienced around the US. Go here for lunch but stay away for breakfast unless you just like to throw your money around. It was $93.00 for 4 ppl, not including tip. However, the servers are terrific. read more

I was drawn to this place because I saw they had a crab omelette so didn't need to even look at menu. My omelette was VERY large. Easily could split it and have plenty. Fruit cup on the side was an up charge of 3 but at least the it was good variety of fruit. My husband got the latka for his side and we were surprised how large it was: ~2" high. The latka had some good crispy edges but also was too heavy on the oregano or sage or some other spice. Service was okay. She didn't volunteer any information but only answered direct questions. Have been a wanting to try this place since we moved to DE. Happened upon it today as we were driving thru Lewes. I had the special Latka Benedict which was constructed as follows: 2 thick potato latkas supporting a layer of fire grilled veggies which included mushrooms, asparagus and roasted red peppers. Baby spinach leaves, 2 poached eggs and topped with a sprinkle of Feta cheese. The accompanying Hollandaise sauce was fresh made but on the cool side. My eggs could have been poached just a wee bit longer as they had runny whites. The potato latka could have been browned more to my liking and more crispness would have been great with the egg yolks. Flavorwise it was tasty without the doughy taste considering the thickness. All in all it was a very flavorful variation of an all time favorite. It was still bit pricey being a meatless dish , $16 yes And yes that is understanding location. read more

The drinks are big and refreshing, the hot drinks are unique and rich, and I really like the breakfast items. They have good hours which helps their cause. The food: I always get Eggs Benedict. So the yolks were sufficiently runny (yeah!) but the hollandaise sauce was sparse and lacking in flavor. Bummer. One of the eggs also had some runny white. Everything else was tasty and in good portions. The latke choice as a potato side was a nice surprise. He just didn't seem interested at all. IF I did not hear and read such good things about this place, I would have left. After the food was delivered, he never checked to see if everything was ok. He made a pit stop once before giving the check and I had no intentions on tracking every time we needed anything. We simply asked any server who passed when we were in need. Food The roasted red pepper omelette was awesome. Eggs were fluffy and all flavors played together nicely. We also shared an order of pancakes, they were nice and fluffy. The butter wasn't melted but just soft enough to spread nicely over the pancakes. Oh, and the coffee wasn't so bad considering I can be a little bit of a coffee snob I would go back for the good food, however I f I saw the same server , I would ask to be seated at a different table.
