Restaurant was packed when we lined up. All the groups with 1-2 ppl had to wait 45 mins. However our 4 member group were seated immediately. Guess a large table had opened up when we walked in! Lucky!!! (Or so I thought) They served us drinks quickly. Talking to the server about her favorites wasn't great. She said she loved everything. Felt more like lip service. We ordered scampi, pizza, penne, ravioli , and garlic cheese bread for the table. Scampi shrimp sucked! Was dry and rubbery. The spaghetti was lemony but undercooked. Maybe they were going for al dente. The San Marzano pizza was great and the Hot Coppa topping was a perfect fit. The penne vodka was basic and the ravioli was also underwhelming. Service was Ok, could have been more attentive espescially to start the Holiday weekend, and the beginning of Summer. It's only going to get more crowded as the Summer rolls through. Has a full bar with limited beer drafts, but ample wine selections. Food was ok not spectacular. I had ZRavioli's and 2 Meatballs. Came with a dollup of Ricotta. Ravioli's were small and plentiful. Delaware isn't known for its Italian restaurants, but Touch of Italy is worth a visit. Having said that, I started things off with the cheesy garlic bread and it was very tasty. To spell out, the bread was fresh and airy with a nice crunch. Similarly, the cheese had great flavor and it had a nice pull to it. In addition, the marinara sauce was savory and slightly sweet. It was simply a great appetizer. After that, I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and it was enjoyable. To explain, the fettuccine was cooked perfectly and tasted homemade. Likewise, the shrimp was excellent. It was fresh, tender, and had tremendous flavor. On the contrary, I wasn't a huge fan of the Alfredo sauce. To make clear, the sauce had good taste, but it was a bit thin. I prefer a thick and heavy Alfredo sauce. It was still an overall good dish though. Gosh they're just the best! Sure it's a tiny place but massive, loud restaurants are so overrated in my book. No matter the company, this place is perfect for lunch or dinner. They also have great specials on different day. Service is always wonderful and the food is just fabulous! My only hang up is that I wish they had more gluten free options. It seems that Gnocchi (which is great) is the only main meal option. This is what I get as I have Celiac. Otherwise wonderful menu for those who can eat whatever! Went here for our anniversary for lunch and it was divine. It is a very small place but I am okay with cozy dining. It is cute and the service was excellent. The food was divine, I had the lasagna and my husband had the pasta bolognase. We also started with the cheese bread, yum! And to finish it off we had a chocolate cookie which was the best I ever had and one my best ever red velvet cakes. We have been eating here since they opened in Lewes. Ordered takeout for 12 people appetizers, entrees and desserts. They forgot one entre and one spaghetti side. The manager on the phone denied the mistake and claimed he bagged the order himself. He was not polite and didn't offer a refund. Some of the best Italian food I've had, and I lived in Italy for a month. Boyfriend had the Calzone Di Napoli that was huge and filled from end to end. I enjoyed the San Marzano pizza with added mushrooms and from the crust, sauce and homemade mozzarella to the fresh basil, it was perfect. The complementary homemade rustic bread with EVOO, a bit of red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese for dipping is out of this world. Some of the best EVOO we've had. read more

After driving there, we were told immediately that a party of 9 could not be accommodated. Later, we decided to do carryout since we've had good food from them in the past. Our order was supposed to be ready at 7:45, but my son and 84-year-old father ended up waiting over 25 minutes. When my father politely asked for an update, he was met with an extremely rude comment: "standing there asking questions won't make it ready faster." No apology was offered, and to top it off, one of the meals was wrong when we got home. Very disappointing service and treatment. In downtown Lewes just blocks from the beach, this is charming restaurant has it all. It's spacious, but feels warm and cozy. It's classy and authentic, while being family friendly. It's always busy, but service is quick and all the staff are pleasant. All trappings aside, the food was just delicious. Flavorful wood-fired pizza and hearty pastas. The Napoleon and eclair pastries were enormous! I bought a box of pastries and cookies to take home, just to make sure it wasn't the breezy beach air making everything taste better. This is the best Italian I've had since leaving PA! The bolognese is the best I've tasted in my entire life, I wish I knew how they made it because now I don't live near here anymore. There's another location in Rehoboth which I've eaten at as well, but the LEWES location is where it's at. Idk why but Lewes's food is better tasting, AND the portions are bigger there. The food is great. Having celiac disease poses its challenges, but they have some menu items that are gluten free. You could knock the menu for being small, but I can respect a place that makes a few things well. Staff were great. We ordered a meal that was brought out wrong with pasta instead of gnocchi; and didn't say anything. All I really have to say is this restaurant is PHENOMENAL! Having some of the best pasta I've ever had. First of all, if you want something good, try the bolognese sauce and you will never eat pasta the same way again. As for the service, I don't really have to say much. The bartender/server was attentive and nice, and we cleared our plates with the exception of 1 entree. INCREDIBLE, like we were back home in Manhattan or the Bronx, home of authentic Italian home cooking. All that was missing was saw dust from the floor and the famous candle monument at John's Italian on 2nd and 15th in New York. The food was to die for. This is the real deal in Lewes and all of the beach areas. Every great Italian meal includes meatballs, hence, had to try their meatballs. Now I wish they would take mail orders. The Polpette della Mama, Specialita della Casa meatballs were an incredible tri-meat mix with a healthy dose of old-school love. "Specialita' della Casa" Mamma's Meatballs - Hand-rolled veal, pork, and beef meatballs topped with our original tomato sauce and fresh ricotta. Paired with a glass of Touch of Italy Montepulciano, I could have called it there and gone to heaven. For our next course, we shared the linguine fra diavlo - Linguine with shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari tossed in a spicy marinara sauce. A delightful mix of seafood with a slight flavor profile kick. Was DELICIOUS!!!! What better way to complement a meal for royalty, a slice of their homemade Ricotta Cheesecake which we took back to our B&B with us. The best meatballs we've had in many years, these stack up with a favorite haunt in Brooklyn and in Guttenburg NJ. Wish we could get this quality of Italian cooking where we live. Seating a Large Party: I called ahead about seating nine people and was told I had to drive over and ask the hostess in person. When we arrived, the food wasn't ready. My 84-year-old father was told, "Standing here asking questions won't make it ready any faster." Not only was that rude, but we didn't get our order until 8:10 PM -- 25 minutes late -- and without an apology. On top of that, our order was wrong: we asked for eggplant parmesan and were given chicken parmesan, which was unacceptable since the meal was for a vegetarian.
