I've been to The Coffee Mill numerous times over the summers, and it was natural to start my Sunday here this visit. This year, Im first one awake at the house and finding coffee at 7 (as opposed to most places opening at 8), was great. There already was a line, people were friendly, but no time for idle chitchat. Understandable when there's a line. Politeness will suffice. When I came back at 8, it was more crowded and staff was borderline blatantly rude. Someone in line asked a question about an offering seen online. The snapped response was ,"look at the sign..." Coffee Mill has been here forever and Coffee is good, not great, so dont think folks will put up with holier than thou attitude from behind the counter. It may be nearing the end of the season and you may be tired and fed up with visitors, but for some of those visitors, this is their primary vacation and their first visit. Help them enjoy it. No need to give them more of the workaday shxt they came here to escape. read more

My wife and I got Açaí bowls. They were absolutely delicious. This must be their specialty. My friend got an egg bagel and it looked weak. He said it tasted like nothing. Looks like an MCD egg Pattie. He said it seemed kinda microwaved. It gets pretty packed so get there when it opens. Super cute little shop with what looks like specialty clothing items. I wanted to give this a better review! We stopped by multiple times in the evening during our stay for the week. Sometimes there was someone inside and sometimes there wasn't. It seems as though sometimes in the evening, the employee splits between the coffee shop and ice cream shop as they were seen going back and forth between the two. The first night we stopped are were able to be served, I got a hot vanilla latte and it was excellent. We then stopped a few nights later and was not impressed - I ordered the same thing but it tasted watery. Was super disappointing that the taste was not consistent! Love that it is tucked away in one of the hidden alleys - there is more outdoor seating than indoor. Not super aesthetic inside and no pricing on the menu. I'm really surprised to see so many positive reviews of this place and the very bright pictures. This was NOTHING like my experience. I showed my wife the pictures here. "Did it look like that to you?" "No, it was a pokey little hole." So, I double checked my notes to see if I was looking at the wrong place. Nope. Checked the map yelp provides. Yeo, that was the place. I went to and wow was my experience different. My wife and I found it looking down a small side alley, the sort that has charming little shops off the main drag. The place was small and dark, and words like 'charming old-style drifted in my mind. and 'old school local place, what coffee shops were like before Starbucks.' There was a high counter and a couple of people sitting off to the side, talking around a small table. and it went downhill from there. As we stood there one of the people sitting bellowed out a woman's name and said 'customers!" I would later find out this guy was the owner/manager but he seemed more involved in his conversation while a small older woman, I'd noticed hauling trash bags and the like, seemed to be his sole employee, who was also supposed to serve food. It was a small thing but it sort of stuck in my mind as to 'why didn't he help?' my wife and I each got a coffee and they were only about $3 each. OK good. The milk was in a fridge in the corner, and this is where things went south. I poured it in and it was off. We were several days past the 'use by' date and it was not viable. I point this out and the owner from his chair said 'oh, get another.' and moved behind the counter. I thought he was getting me a fresh cup but he seemed surprised to see me standing there when he turned around a couple of minutes later. I guess he was refreshing HIS cup but meant I could open another container of milk in the fridge to pour different milk into the cup I'd already added sour milk to. "Oh do you want another cup of coffee?" At this point I'd had enough. I wasn't going to make a fuss, it was only $3, but I wasn't going to stand there any longer. I left. Between the dingy setting, yelling at employee(s), sour milk and an inability to see a problem with this I honestly wondered if I was being punked. My wife, who took her cup black, said she found it too sweet but after the parade of what I saw, I am beyond surprised at the large number of good reviews here. I'd like to say maybe I got them on a bad day but with the pictures being at such variance form my experience, wow. And I looked very closely before I wrote all this and could see how those would be the same place but just, a long time before I got there. read more

We found this coffee shop down a sweet little alley in Rehoboth. They have a large menu. The woman working the counter was sweet. Service was fast. But....the coffee and pastries were just meh. I actually threw away half of my latte. :(. We opted to sit inside. That was a mistake. The seating area apparently doubles as an office for the manager (maybe, I'm not sure who he was). He kept bustling by our table getting shipping stuff together and bumped into us numerous times, without any acknowledgment. First and last time we'll be visiting. read more

Love the vibes here, it is always pretty busy which is a good sign. They have a lot of choices for drinks to choose from. I like their iced chai lattes. Tried their normal iced lattes today and they were a little bitter for me but I like really sweet lattes haha. Got their bagel and cream cheese and it was very good and they toast the bagel for you. This coffee shop reminds me of the coffee shops of the 90's (before Starbucks took over the market) that had a primary focus on serving really good coffee. The counter displays a wall of jars of various coffee beans as well as a few baked goods in the case. There are a few tables indoors and a nice seating area under a canopy outside. We went several times while we visited Rehoboth and each time the staff were efficient and friendly. The efficiency mattered a lot, because in the mornings, there was often quite a line waiting for their morning caffeine fix. While all of the above is great, the true gem of each was the coffee! During my vacation, I enjoyed both iced coffee and espresso drinks. Both choices were smooth and flavorful. The Coffee Mill offers a wide variety of syrups and milk choices as well as a few different roasts to choose from (if you order drip coffee). We were wandering around looking for a quick breakfast after biking to Rehoboth and saw this adorable alley with The Coffee Mill in it. The space inside is small and tight, but it's decorated in bright colors with lots of trinkets and items around. The staff was curt but efficient, clearly used to serving a lot of people in a short amount of time. When we showed up around 10:30, there weren't that many people and we were served our coffee and bagels in about three minutes. We had two regular iced coffees - sugar and milk is self serve against the window, and milk is available in the fridge to pour yourself. I ordered a plain bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese. It was good and plain. My fiancée had the salmon lox on an everything bagel and loved it. Two iced coffees and two bagel sandwiches was $35, which was more than I was expecting coming from Baltimore. Overall, it was a tasty experience and the coffee reenergized us for the beach after a 30 minute bike ride! read more

You order at the counter and then wait for your order, and no part of the process was smooth or quick. The counter staff seemed confused and did not know how to control or advance the line.
