My friends had spoken about this place for a bit so we decided to check it out on Country Line dancing night this past Thursday May 29. The place is huge. There is lots of seating in the outside patio as well. They do a lot of themed events almost every night = burger night, trivia..! There are free line dancing lessons offered by a cool instructor. The dance floor is a pretty good size and fills up. The service was poor- I had to hunt down our server Cory three different times. He kept forgetting the lemons for our salmon dish and waters despite his saying lemons coming right up. We asked his assistant who brought out the entrees and salads for the same - he came back after 6 minutes with a tiny slice of lemon for 4 people, then ran away! The food was average. I ordered a bowl of the Potato Leek soup for $8 and was looking forward to it. Out came a bowl maybe a 1/3 full ( literally five soup spoonfuls). I asked Cory if that was a mistake or a kid's portion and his hilarious response was classic, " Oh we are precise. We measure the soup with a serving ladle and only put this much so it won't splash or spill." The salmon add on (for $10)on the house salad was so so. I was on the floor cracking up. $32 plus tip average per person and I was still hungry. I will not be back for the food. Definitely for the dancing in my new Stetson El Presidente Premium 100X Hat. Ned's is a great spot for a bite and a beer. They've always got great specials and the food is pretty solid for a bar. Really fun irish pub vibes. I've seen them do line dancing nights which is so fun! They've got a good beer selection and a pretty large food menu. I've come here a few times with coworkers and parking is plentiful and they're usually able to seat us right away! read more

I rarely write reviews but I sure wished I had listened to the reviews and we skipped it! Started off waiting over 10 minutes for menus. We were getting up to leave when a waitress rushed some over. Food took forever and was terrible. Cold, and gross. The only eatable thing was the pretzels - they were really good. No care, no pride in food at all. I felt bad for wait staff. We hadn't been to this Irish Pub in years and I'm not sure why, because the food is terrific and the service is great. It has a comfortable, slightly dim-lit, bar vibe, with multiple tv screens. Neither of us wanted "traditional" Irish fare - hubs ordered a cheeseburger with fries. He really enjoyed the burger and I can confirm that the fries were delicious. I ordered quesadillas - couldn't resist just seeing how they did them. They were quite flavorful and the house-made salsa was just spicy enough. I came here with my book club and I found this restaurant to be okay. We sat outside, they have a spacious patio. We visited on a Wednesday and they said they had trivia inside, which I would be willing to go back to try. I got the corned beef and cabbage meal. The corned beef was thinly sliced, I wish I could have had thicker pieces. The sauce on it was very lemony and kind of sweet, which I personally didn't love. The cabbage and potatoes were very good. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so others can make informed choices. I visited this bar hoping for a fun, welcoming evening with friends, but what I encountered instead was racism and disrespect that left me shocked and heartbroken. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome or judged because of who they are. The line dancing instructor comments made it painfully clear that inclusion and respect aren't priorities here. It was disheartening to see such behavior in a place that should bring people together. The manger sided with him, I don't really blame her because she didn't witness the aggression and hate he addressed us with. I honestly believe this level of aggression should not be aloud in public. She stated she'd look at the camera footage... I hope she does so this doesn't happen to anybody else. Needless to say, I absolutely will not be coming back here! I hope the owner(s) take this as an opportunity to reflect and make real changes -- through training, accountability, and a genuine commitment to equality. Until then, I can't in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone who believes in kindness and fairness. There is a reason why there are no photos of their corned beef and cabbage, because this is it. This is pathetic and the manager and cook should be humiliated serving this. I did take out and felt the package was light compared to the many other times I have ordered this dish from dozens of other Irish bars. I opened it up, moved around the sliver of corned beef to find barely any food. The cabbage was raw and the horseradish sauce was water. Not to mention the two slices of beef. I went back into the restaurant and complained. No resolution except to offer for me to order and pay for another meal. I ordered through a 3rd party app and they refused to issue a refund. Came here for Halloween party with the Reflex 80s band playing was fun, except for some rowdy group or two but otherwise a good venue. We came strictly for the party and some drinks. My friends ordered a flat bread which was flat, dead flat! Drinks were okay, I had a watermelon martini which was too sweet and prob little to no vodka... Okay for a couple of hours of fun and jamming to 80s legends as Cyndi's girls want to have fun played by the band(new lead singer)! Nice ambiance for a pub. The menus list a wide selection of beers. Happy hour menu says 2-7 p.m. which is pretty good but neither show the prices. My friend ordered the burger and fries and he was satisfied with his meal. I had the corned beef and cabbage and it was passable. Not much corned beef and the horseradish cream sauce was very watery and couldn't really detect any horseradish. I really like Ned's, especially for football on Sundays. They have all the games on the TVs so you don't have to miss any of the action. Their game day deals are typically pretty good too! I haven't had a ton of the food outside of some appetizers. But the appetizers have been delicious! I've been a few times with the guys to watch football and they were impressed having never been there before. I believe we've ordered the quesadilla, the nachos, and the artichoke dip. All 3 of those things are absolutely worth ordering. They also have a large selection of beer and spirits. The ambiance is that of an Irish pub, hence the name lol. I would say that it probably gets busier on weekends as they have a section for live music. I've never been outside of football Sundays so I don't know how busy it gets on Fridays or Saturdays. The service is always great here. We've never had to wait a long time for food or drinks. And we've always seen our waitress check on us many times throughout our time there. Definitely happy with the level of service they provide here. I will give it 4 stars for now since I haven't had all the food so I can't say confidently that it's 5, but I'd say it's a solid spot for anytime dining or for sports on the weekend. read more

The karaoke was fine. The harassment from other patrons and some employees wasn't. I was eventually issued a " lifetime ban" because of defending myself against aggressive and hostile patrons and employees. One example was following me into the bathroom and staring at me. It's been a while since I've been to an Irish pub. As always they never let me down. This spot has a lot of space. Good spot to hang with friends, coworkers... happy hour. Brand Z had the best personality, knew the menu inside out and definitely gave some great recommendations. The wings and deviled eggs one word delicious. Of course I came for the baggers and mash. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to watch the UEFA Champions League Final, where I was waited on by Chris. Ordered burger/fries with a drink. Food was very tasty and the service was prompt. The place was clean and roomy. The bar was not very busy during the afternoon, and most of the patrons were soccer fans. But I could see that they were enjoying themselves, just as I did. This was my second time watching the UEFA CL here, and looks like I will stop by next year also. read more

I am so ashamed I brought a family member here for line dancing on Thursday. The instructor was rude to my wife and her cousin in a way that was absolutely absurd. When I went to ask what they'd done wrong an employee put an arm on me and was assailed by the instructor, the manager of the restaurant and an overprotective friend of the instructor. The aggression from the friend and instructor I hope was motivated by alcohol or drugs and not their natural state. I have never been anywhere that management sided with people that were dead wrong so aggressively, for god sakes there was a literal baby there. I do not know if the hatred we experienced was sexism, racism, or just not belonging in a line dance but I sincerely hope that more people do not have that experience. The food is fine, some of the reviews are overly harsh, and our server was delightful. If the higher ups are in tune with these kinds of things I assume line dance instructor is not a hard to fill position. read more

Went here for company happy hour. The appetizers they prepared for our group were great. They served mini beef sliders, chicken wing, fried pickles, quasadillas, and mozzarella cheese sticks. They were awesome. The service was great, and our waiter was very attentive to our group. Based on the layout of the bar area, there's a good size stage, so I'm going to assume there's live music and dancing that takes place at some point. Our event was on a Tuesday, so we didn't have a chance to experience the entertainment. Great music was playing in the background. It took over an hour and a half to get our food when there were almost no tables. Almost 30 minutes before the server even greeted us. The saddest part is the food was delicious but the service was so terrible it ruined the whole experience. The server told us it was due to three tables coming in at the same time however we did not come in at the same time, it just took her so long to greet us two other tables showed up in the meantime. Delicious food, waitstaff, and entertainment. We went to watch a band play and had dinner and drinks. Our waiter was fantastic; he assisted us with moving from a high top to a booth, so we were more comfortable after sitting and ordering drinks and appetizers. He stuck with us the entire night through many delicious drinks, interesting shots, and good food. I started with the fried pickles over drinks; they were good but a little chewy. Then I had the lamb stew, which was good but salty. The chef had a heavy hand that evening, and though I enjoyed it, without as much salt, it would have been better, and I finished the evening with the special bread pudding. It was served warm and had excellent flavor. It was a large piece of bread pudding. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and everything about the evening. I've been to Ned Devine's Irish Gastro Pub & Restaurant multiple times and used to recommend it to friends. But after what happened on Monday, May 19th at around 7:30 PM, I will never come back. I came with two Korean friends and we were seated, waiting for over 10 minutes with no service. Just as another employee finally approached to help us, a white female server with brownish hair and glasses cut in and said, "They just got here. I got them." -- blatantly untrue. That alone felt dismissive and insulting. What followed was even worse. While we observed her being friendly and attentive to other white customers, she treated us coldly, almost like we were a nuisance. No smile, no warmth. We had to stop her just to ask for water and condiments, and even then she responded in a disgusted tone like we were bothering her. It honestly felt like racial bias. I've never felt that level of discomfort or disrespect in a restaurant -- especially not in Northern Virginia. This place used to be great. But this experience completely ruined the night. I really hope the owners read this and take real action. You've lost a loyal customer. read more

Just moved to the Herndon area area and was in the mood for some comfort food and a cold beer..and I was able to get both at Ned Devine's(ok I might have thrown in some Mumm champagne too...sssssh) Ordered the corned beef croquettes and sliders with fries for the "pre-game" to the meals and were not disappointed in the least! Sliders were hand formed and very tasty, but those croquettes though! As the kids that I work with say "they slapped" corned beef and mashed deep fried and served with a Dijon aioli HEAVEN! Olivia was amazing! She was very prompt to serving us when we showed up and sat down. We popped in during my break from showing houses. We quickly were served our beer choices while we pondered the menu. We ordered sliders which come three to an order with cheese choice. You have an option of adding fries for a dollar more. Totally worth the dollar upgrade! It was big enough for both of us to share with beer choice. I was also surprised they have casemates! We remember seeing them from trip to Ireland and didn't know they allowed them in states yet! They had stout, IPA and black barrel. I really wanted to give this place a chance because I came here over a year ago and had an excellent experience with our server Claire and I was excited to bring friends here but we were very disappointed. The food was mid at best and only picked at it and didn't finish any of it. He was very attentive throughout the entire evening and was accommodating with suggestions and water without being prompted. The food and drinks were excellent, and the only criticism I have is that several of the items were unavailable. It could've been that it was a busy day, but perhaps having a chalkboard with updated beers on tap and/or specials would be more efficient. We were in town visiting friends, and my wife mentioned that Ned's looked like a great place to grab some dinner. I voted for Mission BBQ (again!) so we compromised and went to Ned's. The shopping center is STACKED with food options, but Ned's was our destination, and it did not disappoint. Sure, it's main thing is that it's a bar/pub, so when service is slow, it's understandable. And service...was...slow. But our server was friendly, polite, and apologetic, and let's face it...that has a bit of redemption value to me. But you're not coming to Ned's for a quick meal; you're coming to eat, drink, and watch some sports on their many (many!) televisions. While we didn't actually partake in any drinking, I can at least tell you that you're in for a treat with the food. An eclectic and diverse menu with all the classic Irish/British pub favorites, along with a few unexpected extras (creole pasta?), everything my table-mates and I ordered was superb! Bangers and mash, Guinness stew pie, fish and chips, and sausage rolls were all amazing. Little touches, like a side of curried ketchup for dipping, made me happy. I went for food and friday night dancing. The food, barkeep, and wait staff was very good. I had the shepards pie. Nice ambiance of decor and music from the 1980-2000s. The dancing was (BYODP)Bring your own dance partner. I wanted to find a spot to dance east coast swing to rock instead of the big band. It didn't happen. That night demo was of mid 20s to late 40s. Assorted girl gangs, couples and sausage fest. No luck on single ladies at dance floor. The band was too loud for me so I went to buy ear protection so I could get near the dance floor. They charged me cover because I left and came back in. Would be nice touch to show my food sales receipt to avoid cover charge. read more

The food here is absolutely horrible. I have had just about everything on the menu, and the taste ranges from inedible to barely passable. Meat is either cooked to death or not enough, things are over salted, or not seasoned at all, and to make matters worse, it takes FOREVER to get your food because they are chronically understaffed. It is a shame because the atmosphere is good and the wait staff is typically very nice. However, I am done eating disgusting meals at this place. A complete waste of money to me. read more
