BEWARE OF SCAMS - I have used the gutter cleaning company in the past and was not happy with the service. It's been several years since I used them and today two men showed up at my house and started to climb the ladder and connect a hose to clean my gutters. I had to go outside and chase them off my property. I never asked for my gutters to be cleaned. I have not even spoken to Ned Stevens in three years. They didn't wanna leave and they said we're supposed to clean your gutters. I had to threaten to call the police if they didn't leave. I feel like this is a scam where they're just going to clean your gutters and then bill you when you never asked for it. I got smart and called the company and asked them to find out how this could happen and they had me down as a customer over three years ago. I told him I never want them to clean my gutters ever again and I will never accept this happening again. Stay away from Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning. They damaged my house blowing off a piece of siding. They claim to repair damage they cause; they absolutely do NOT. They refused to send anyone out to even look at the damage. They even tried to hide the damage by blowing the leafs against the house blocking the door to cover the piece of siding they damage. The attached photos show where the siding was blown off. Where there workers tried to cover the damage and where the workers blew the leafs to block the second sliding door. read more

We had Ned's Home come today to clean out gutters. I like that you get a text message when they are on their way. They got here on time and started cleaning our gutters. About 1 hour after the guys left I was going to blow the leaves out of the drive. To my surprise not only did Ned Stevens crew cleaned out my gutters on the house and garage, they cleared out aall the leaves and pine needles that were on my driveway!!! I used this service when I first moved to Bloomfield. I soon realized my mistake. The service was poor - the gutter cleaners barely spent any time at my house and tramped over everything quite carelessly - and would leave a mess. Then there were the ominous notes of a problem that needed addressing etc etc. I guess this was an effort to sell me something else. Scam alert. Ned Stevens charged us $167 for work they never did. Our Ring camera caught everything -- they took out the ladder, snapped a few pictures, then packed up and left without cleaning a single gutter. No actual work. Total time onsite was 6 minutes. Just a charge on our account for a job they pretended to do. This isn't just bad service, it's dishonest and unacceptable. This was my first and last bad experience with Ned's Home . The first crew did not complete the gutters in the back of my house . According to Ring camera - they spent 11 minutes at my home and charged almost 200$ . I complained and they returned but with no notice . I just happened to be home . The job was completed, but really should two trips be necessary. I'm very disheartened to be treated like this with a representative saying "I'll take your word that the work wasn't done . ok, we have an old house with several levels of roof, some Yankee gutters, as well as mesh to keep vermin out of our eaves/solar panels. So granted, our gutters are a little complicated. but when we had our general contractor here for some other work, he noticed: -- lots of leaves in gutters, blocking downspouts. our last cleaning. was December, AFTER the fall leaf fall. the leaders shouldn't have become blocked with fall leaves between December and July. -- the gutters on our highest level of roof weren't cleaned at all. if my contractor could get up there, why couldn't a specialist in gutter cleaning get up there? -- many of tour downspouts and leaders are cracked or rotten. Would have appreciated being told this by the gutter specialist -- they might have gotten some work out of it, because we want to fix the problem to avoid future water damage. my GC will benefit, as he gets the work now. read more

Last October we used Ned Steven's Gutter Cleaning and Installation to get new gutters for our home. They did a good job installing the new gutters. However, during late summer we noticed dark stripe streaks down the entire system around our home. I called them and they sent out a manager and he called them tiger stripes. He replied that's normal nothing we can do about it. These gutters aren't even a year old and they look terrible with these dirty stripes. I called their office again and was told that they can come out for a one time courtesy call and clean them. That never happened and we didn't hear from them again!! We are so very disappointed in this business. I later found out after the fact that they are NOT accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I mistook the speed for efficiency - now I know better. Everything done over the phone from aggressive sales who are looking to lock you in and upsell within 30 seconds. No one is going to give an on-site evaluation, they use photos (google maps), but will somehow immediately know that you need work done. Labor is supposed to call beforehand of their arrival (their window of service is month with no clarity, 'due to weather'), and leave a note when they complete it- done one time, but not the other. Contracts and estimates are general - you will get an invoice with few or no details on what is included or excluded; this is key. The terminology on one contract was not the same for the other, and what sales says is included is not necessarily what will happen, but they will rush to get the job 'done' and billing charged before you have time to recognize that there were no details of what will or will not be included. Voiced my complaint to them about it, did not hear back. If you want someone who will come by, ask the questions, get nitty-gritty specific with suggestions and detailed invoices, go elsewhere. read more

We had our gutters cleaned by this company. The first time they showed up at our home, they did not text us until 10 minutes before pulling into our driveway.The staff were not able to communicate with us clearly and they left. Please note:this company does not schedule appointments, they give you a time /date-range "window" and tell you that they will text before the appointment which is ridiculous. Finally our appointment was rescheduled, they cleaned our gutters and left two bags of leaves for us to discard. Had my gutters repaired to stop water overflow. Unfortunately they did not do a good job as the overflow is bad. They even cam out a second time but did not fix the problem. I went up to make sure there were no obstructions and there were none. Very disappointed with the results. It rained again and huge overflow puddles on an patio. read more

The latest insult: after service (can't wait until the contract is up) I received a door tag telling me there is an issue. When I called I was told "all of the gutters are off pitch & need to be replaced". When I told him my house has 5 separate runs of gutter (2 of which I replaced personally 3 months ago) I was told "no sir- they are all connected". This is after I told him I was literally looking at my gutters while we were speaking. I explained to him 4-5 times that they aren't all attached only to be talked over repeatedly. He then said the wouldn't send a tech to do a quote because they have a picture of the house. Absurd. This place was recommended by two friends. I should've went with my gut and reviews I've seen but I didn't. Now I know to go with my gut. I filled out a form online. They called immediately. I missed the call and called them back. Than I said hold on and I accidentally hung up on them. That should've been a sign to not hire them, but I hadn't cleaned my gutters in many years. They kept trying to call me back and I ended up calling them back. They quoted $179 + $5 safety fee + tax. They tried locking me into a 4 cleaning contract for $139/visit paid in Full. I declined. Then they tried locking me into the same contract but pay per visit at $159. I declined. I was promised a text before coming out and a door tag that the job was done and any suggestions. I got neither. Family run business? They must not take their job seriously. The only way I know they were there is that they rang my Ring doorbell. When I got home I could still see leaves hanging out of the gutters and they left a black bag at the curb. I might have to put a ladder up and see if they really did clean them. I was never informed that they would leave their garbage. I don't think the value is there. I will never use them again and definitely do not recommend them. They didn't even call me after to see if I was satisfied or had any questions. My HVAC company always calls after service calls. This is a service call too. Deserve zero stars. Used them once over 4 years ago. Found several issues that weren't really issues. Wife had them go head and fix (I wasn't home). The fixes were "MacGyvered" to say the least. This past weekend while we were gone, they came to my house, got up on my roof, cleaned my gutters. No request. No permission. And then they left bags of gutter goop all over my yard. Came to clean my gutters but left without cleaning them because my water was shut off for the winter and they refused to do a dry cleaning. Called the office to complain and was told they will come back out tomorrow to dry clean my gutters tomorrow but was told of the technician decided he need Water to clean the gutters then my gutters will not be cleaned.
