There is plenty of seating inside, and our waitress (I believe her name was Pam), was extremely friendly and provided quick and great service. I also got to meet the owner who was very nice. I tried the Mushroom & Swiss Omlette, which was fantastic. It went great with their local signature hot sauce, which had a nice smoky kind of taste to it and wasn't crazy spicy, perfect for breakfast. The prices are super reasonable as well. Overall, you should definitely support this small business and check out Cherry Valley Cafe - it's very close to the Hurricane Harbor Rockford water park if you're planning on going there in the summertime.

I went by around noon and almost all the donuts were gone (a good sign!) and there was still a line in the drive-through. Naturally, I was inside. I had a super puffy glazed doughnut. Had a pretty thick coating of glaze, but it needed it because the donut was so thick. Please see photo. The other doughnut was something called Butter Nutter or something and looked like a Butterfinger was smashed and put over the top of the donut. See photo. I worried that the super thick glazed donut was going to be raw because it was so enormous, but it was cooked well enough where it was fine. It's sort of a skin on it like a bagel. Tasted really good. The other doughnut was super super sweet like sugar on top of sugar. I wouldn't have normally ordered it, but they were out of everything else that I normally would order. Good but too sweet for me. Again it was fried crispy, which is how I liked donuts. The ambience is what you would expect in an old donut shop... comfortably worn... I'll be back when I need a doughnut in this area.. Bonus: They also had fresh unsweet tea, which is great!

It's about $3 to get the Jamaica. This is a hibiscus beverage that's good stuff. As for the food it's mostly authentic. It's about $12 for the Taco Salad. Choose a meat or get it with toppings that include avocado, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and more. The rest of the menu is meaty with animal parts such as tripe. Got a menu full of classics. It's located on North State Street at Old Beloit Road. There's a plaza behind the gas station and next to a laundromat that are things to look for because it's hard to find coming from wherever.
