I have been seeing Dr. Kolnik for numerous years. He has never been anything but friendly,…read moreprofessional, knowlegeable, and prompt. I highly recommend him to friends and family. His front desk staff (Bea) is also very accommodating, knowledgeable and professional when it comes to the administrative aspects like billing, appointments, ordering contacts, etc. Check Dr. Kolnick out on zocdoc.com which has verified reviews from patients who visited him and he has a solid well-deserved 5 stars. Another benefit of this office is the fashionable glasses they sell. The eyeglass professionals spend the time and effort to help you select the best glasses that are right for you. For a long time I hated the way I look in glasses but they're always able to help me find a pair that I love to wear and feel good in. Lastly, there is abundant parking out front.

If you've never been to an optometrist, this review is for an eye doctor. If your eyesight sucks or you moved to a new area and need a checkup (as I did and needed), then other reviews here should testify to the longevity of this doctor and his positive impact on his patients. Me, included. Come back to this review after you see him and let me know if you can read this sentence clearer. I think you will.

I was struck by an auto immune disease called Stevens Johnson Syndrome back in March 2017. Both my…read morecorneas were scarred by inflammation and my vision was significantly impaired. My ophthalmologist told me wearing the Prose device was my ONLY hope of restoring vision. After under going six months of unsuccessful Prose treatment at USC Eye Institute, in Los Angeles, I was told by the optometrist Dr. Gloria Chiu that "my eyes are always changing" and that "Prose was not meant for me". In being the advocate for myself, I was persistent in obtaining a second opinion on the Prose at Boston Sight. I was treated by Dr. Alan Kwok, the best doctor there on both visits, 7/30/18 and 5/6/19. This doctor has given me my eyes back and brought light back into my life. He is truly amazing! With these Prose, I am now able to return back to work and do the things I used to enjoy. The staff at Boston Sight is a group of compassionate and caring people that understands and treats patients with ultimate respect. This place is full of light and miracles! If you or anyone that has issues with sight, go to Boston Sight!!!

Although the PROSE devices are wonderful and have significantly help me to see, I must comment on…read morethe lack of helpfulness/professionalism of the staff. Lets just start with attempting to get a live person when you call. You may or may not get a phone call back. Very frustrating. Ophthalmologists and vision techs are wonderful and detailed oriented. I fully trust them. They have great interpersonal skills and treat their patients nicely. Problem is outside of their department. When it comes time to pay, a less than professional guy will come in and talk to you-Parnell. If your insurance provider is not set up and approved by their staff prior to your visit, they will not be active participants to help you secure payment. Fight will be all yours. BFS will no longer care as long as they get their pay from you at that time!! If you call them, it usually takes 2-3 days to receive a phone call back. Can be frustrating especially when concerns fall on dead ears. If there is a problem with your lens ( device) and needs intervention, they have a process where by you can send the lens to them. Since my lens was very irritating to my eye, I sent my lens in for treatment and repair. My lens was not returned in 2 weeks. After calling, Sabrina in this department told me it was delivered and had was signed for not by a name but by a person who used three initials as identification. Lens are not send via mail with insurance from BFS. Sabrina's answer was not very reassuring to me at all and all she essentially repeatedly said was lens was delivered. I had to tell her she was not very helpful with that answer as clearly it was not delivered to me or to my building staffed with 24 hour concierge service who would have signed for the device. She then said she would inquire about delivery and would call me back next day at 1pm. Didn't happen. Wasn't surprised. That is in a nut shell the lack of support Boston Foundation for Sight has for their patients in a nutshell. The organization does offer services for the financially less fortunate with steep discounts to free devices. I thankfully do not need this services but an aware of the good this organization affords. If you are a paying customer. Different ballgame!

I said that when I called I was quoted $80, but they didn't care. They told me that contact lens exams start at $80 and said she should have told me that. Whose fault is that? But I'll take that up with the AG's office. I also had a regular eye exam, which was covered by my insurance. When I looked at the prices of the frames, most were between $550 and $750, and that was without the lenses with all the special coatings they were pushing. Then you have to wait after picking out frames because there's only one person that handles the ordering. When it was my turn, she made the comment that she really liked my frames. I said, "Good, put lenses in these frames" and I took the glasses off and handed them to her. (I prescription shades in the car.) The frames I was wearing were much nicer than any that they had. And my glasses only cost me $325 INCLUDING LENSES at Waverly Eye Care in Belmont. I would have gone to Belmont, where they only charge 50 bucks for a contact lens exam, but it was toward the end of the year and they didn't have any appointments before my benefits would expire. (My bad.) I should have known when MyEyeDr was the only outfit that had plenty of appointment times available. It's because they're so wildly overpriced, deceptive, and upsell driven. In addition to all that, the trial contact lenses that they gave me had expired over 7 months prior to my appointment in December, 2025. Is that even legal?

My daughter who just turned 4 has been going here to see Dr. Amita Bhatt when she was just 2 months…read moreold because our peditrician saw that her eye crossing seemed to be more than your typical new baby crossing. We continued to see her a few more times till she was 6months and her crossing had not cleared but become more easily definable and the appointments were uppped to try to get good measurements till she was 9 months and Dr Bhatt performed surgery on both eyes (she had infantile esotropia) and we saw amazing results within days of the surgery. We still continue to see her every 6 months and every appointment it amazes me how patient she is and how sweet she is with the kids, she is one of the reasons my daughter has no fear of doctors or hospitals and we look forward to seeing her every time. Dr. Bhatt was also great and had even asked us if we wanted to get a second opinion when she could tell we were worried and even gave us a list of doctors she recommended. The staff there as well were amazing, between the assistants who perform the tests ahead of time and take down our information to the staff that schedule appointments and helped us go over what to expect when it came time to scheduling for surgery. We highly recommend the office!
