After reading that company's reviews, we were worried our trip was going to be ruined. We reached out to Mike, and he got everything arranged in less than 24 hours and had us out on the water without any issues. He took the time to answer every question we had and made the entire experience stress-free. He was also extremely helpful getting us in and out of the water. We had a group of 8 and spent the day tubing on Lake Mohave. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The boat was perfect, everything was exactly as promised, and the service was outstanding. Some employees were very friendly and helpful, while others weren't welcoming at all. Unfortunately, the rooms were terrible and clearly lacked proper cleaning. The room immediately gave me the heebie-jeebies. There were strands of hair all over the bathroom, the vents were caked with dust, the carpets were filthy, and the walls looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. There was also a strong odor in the room that management appeared to be trying to cover up with an overpowering deodorizer, but it only made the room more unpleasant. The sinks and toilets were dirty, the refrigerator barely stayed cold, and the air conditioner never cooled the room enough to be comfortable. The pool was dirty, overcrowded, and not enjoyable. The drinks were also extremely overpriced--$17 for a drink that definitely wasn't worth the cost. The casino was another disappointment. The amount of cigarette smoke combined with poor ventilation was overwhelming and gave me a headache. One experience that really concerned me involved my 10-year-old nephew. He hurt himself while we were at the pool, and when we asked a staff member for an alcohol pad, we were told they didn't have any. I couldn't understand how a hotel with a pool wouldn't have basic first-aid supplies readily available. After my brother found another employee, we were finally given two alcohol pads, but it shouldn't have taken that much effort. If it had just been my husband and me, we would have packed up and driven the four hours back home or found another hotel. Since we were traveling with our children, we decided to make the best of it. I ended up wiping down the room and bathroom with bleach wipes myself and told the kids to keep their shoes on the entire time because I didn't feel comfortable with the cleanliness of the room. One final thing that made our stay uncomfortable was the number of stares we received for being Black. I can't say what anyone was thinking, but we had several moments that made us feel unwelcome. Overall, this hotel was a huge disappointment and nowhere near worth the price. Between the lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, poor first-aid preparedness, uncomfortable atmosphere, and overall experience, I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

We had some issues with our boat at the end of our last lake trip and heard great things about this shop from locals. We booked an appointment a week out as they do book up quickly (for great reason). When we got there, Matt greeted us and was awesome from beginning to end! He looked over the engine with my husband and was helpful and informative on things he could fine tune/update himself as the fixes we were looking at seemed easy enough and didn't require a day at the repair shop. Matt and his crew were honest, very knowledgeable and GREAT to work with. They are most definitely our new Go-To guys and will have our business always! Thank you Matt and crew! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!…read more My boyfriend and I were told to go here to rent jet-skis instead of renting at our hotel to save money (big mistake). It was sketchy from the start, a bunch of run down junk cars and boats out front, shirtless guys walking around, an all-around mess. We ended up renting 1 jet-ski for a half day. We were fine riding around on the river until we decided to stop at a little cove to rest and swim. As we were laying on our little beach, we observed our jet-ski slowly start to sink. We were able to get it on the beach and got it to start but it wouldn't go. We were told to call Randy with any issues. We called and texted Randy's phone and office with no response. We finally got a hold of someone at his office and she comes to rescue us on her jet-ski. Once she gets there, she informs us that we were sent out on this jet-ski with no plugs and we were taking on water. She went to give us a ride on her jet-ski to the marina, and now her jet-ski wont start and we are all stranded. Obviously, this place does not inspect, repair, or maintain any of their rentals very well. 5 hours later, (with no food or water in 110-degree heat) we finally get picked up and taken to our hotel. Randy was supposed to meet us at our hotel later that evening, but of course never showed or called. We wasted an entire day of our vacation because Randy couldn't do his job. Lesson learned: Spend the extra $100 to rent at your hotel!!

However, I accidentally went to another rental shop and thought my reservation was there. That rental shop did not tell me my reservation wasn't on their books and so I ended up renting from them, not knowing that I made a reservation with a different company (Riverstar) I ended up having a missed call from an unknown number at 12 and I called it back at 5 only to realize it was Riverstar rentals asking where I was with my reservation and why I didn't show up to get me jet skis. At that moment, I had realized I didn't have a reservation for the skis I picked up. When speaking with the owner (I forget his name) I could tell he was bummed as he held the skis all day waiting for me when they easily could have gone to someone else. Instead of complaining and getting upset with me, he asked if I had fun, was understanding about it and handled it very professionally. I am looking forward to using River Star rentals next time I visit. It's not always about how company's handle things that go right, but how they handle them when they go wrong.
