Now this might sound like hyperbole but as someone I see with great frequency it matters a lot to me. I found AMG on Yelp and based on reviews tried it. Well after my cut and experience it was well deserving of 5 stars. You book an appointment online and you are all set. You are sent multiple reminders which is helpful. There is a massive open public lot behind the stores so take advantage. Walking in this place has a beautiful aesthetic, it was classic barbershop meets the modern elegance. It is really an experience from the moment you walk in until you depart. I sat in a beautiful waiting area and soaked in the atmosphere. My barber Yosef greeted my and it was like meeting an old friend for the very first time. As I sat down in the chair, Yosef asked me what I wanted and consulting with me, we figured out a new look for my hair. He continually said "I want to do exactly what you want so you are happy" this attitude was amazing and it showed in the care he took to his craft. I have been to many barbershops/salon in 37 years but this was different. My barber had a vision and he truly put in the work to visualize it. My cut was a processes and honestly it felt like not one single hair that was supposed to be cut was left. He did not miss and his attention and care to detail showed. The entire experience with a hot towel shave (you have to try it) was worth it and more. It is not your typical barbershop prices but given it was more than "just a barbershop," wonderful friendly staff, knowledgeable barbers, and I walked out with a new look. I confidently feel I found my new barbershop. 5/5 stars!

No, it's not Lobster on the outdoor patio at Peter's.. not quite yet. I need a HAIRCUT or rather I needed them all cut I needed a haircut really bad. After 3 months of pandemic panic, my hair had not been this long since I went to the Dead shows back in the days of my hippie youth. Arriving at Long Beach, I saw a big beautiful sign by the road it said barber shop OPEN! I had heard of unavailable appointments for weeks and long lines of customers waiting. I was lucky, only 2 people in front of me. I thought I was going to get cut by a clipper tied onto a 6-foot pole. Just kidding. I was served quickly and with a smile, my barber wore a mask and quickly and expertly made a big pile of hair on the floor. A few sprays of the aftershave, and it was done I left the barbershop 5 lb lighter. It was interesting to feel the sun on the back of my neck for the first time in months. The pricing on the haircut was $25 and I threw him a 20 tip. Which I felt was appropriate. I am so happy with my clean sharp haircut and feel much better. The worker was transparent immediately about being appointment based. However he stated if I could possibly give him a few minutes to reach the shop he will take me immediately since I am only getting an undercut done. I would've been fine with just accepting that they're appointment based for the day off the simple fact that when I called someone answered!! He was patient with my request and not dismissive because I didn't have an appointment. The vibe is definitely simple and straight to the point which I like. No sheep in wolves clothing. I waited no longer than the time he asked me to wait and got my cut by a professional who made sure to clean his hands and equipment before event seeing me, with great customer service and to be honest the same amount of talent as the barbers at "the groomsmen of Long Island". So if you ask me, I would rather spend my hard earned money here than anywhere I have to worry about a barber lacking customer service and also becoming threatening to a female.
