I applied for a loan with this credit union, and it has now been 10 days and I still don't have a final response. When I call I have only been able to speak to the loan processor once, and still no final response as to what I have been approved for. it's going to be very hard to compete with other financial institutions when they respond within the same day, and you all don't respond in 10 days plus. read more

This bank, as an institution--not merely a specific branch--has provided an extremely poor overall experience. Fees are applied excessively, with little to no consideration for customers. The bank routinely fails to take accountability for errors and offers no grace in resolving issues. Funds transfers are inconsistently and incorrectly handled, with processing delays of up to seven to eleven days, which is both unreasonable and far outside normal industry standards. In addition, the widespread closure of ATMs has made basic services such as deposits increasingly difficult, often requiring customers to visit other banks to complete routine transactions. This creates unnecessary inconvenience and reflects poorly on the bank's commitment to accessible customer service. As a result of these ongoing issues, I am moving my business elsewhere. This bank has the worst customer service there is. The agents are rude, supervisors never call you back. And to top it off, no one knows the real answer. No one seems to care about the customer. Neighborhood credit union as a whole is terrible. They are only out to make money. If you call to talk to them and ask to have a manager call back you will never hear from the manager. I have been with credit unions since 1984 and this is the worse ever! They also are only open from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and lunch from 1 to 2. So you will have to take time off from work if you do need to visit: Also overdraft fees at $34 a pop and if there is enough to cover one bill, but not another, they combine the bills and charge you more overdraft charges. Unbelievable! I guess I am used to a credit union that is for their members. Not this one! read more

Our loan officer was Jessica Medina-Rodriguez and she was nice but oh my goodness she did not do a very good job following up. We constantly had to reach out to her and she would take FOREVER to reach back out to us. Every time we would call she was out for some time so we had to wait a while to even get a hold of her. It seemed like she was very motivated to help in the beginning but as soon as the loan was approved she no longer cared. We are still trying to get a hold of her to answer a few questions and who knows when we will get an answer from her. We never go out of our way to leave reviews. Good or bad. But she has frustrated us with not responding and we just need others to know if you come across her as a loan officer to maybe ask for someone else. We are still waiting to see if they canceled our warranty because she said she would do it on our behalf and would CC us in the cancellation email and she never did that. So that warranty money is possibly out there and now we may have to go ourselves to cancel since she will not respond to us to see if it has been done. Again her name is Jessica Medina-Rodriguez and she helped a family member of ours and so i decided well let me help her make another sale and reached out myself but now i regret not getting a different loan officer that would have possibly been better about giving us answers and reaching out instead of just trying to make another sale. read more

I was rate shopping for a new vehicle and credit card and applied for an account at Postal Credit Union and just so happened I was unaware they they we're bought out. I had heard they weren't a very good credit union before hand. Since the inquiry was done I move ahead, well that was a mistake because they asked me for every document know to man after discovering Iw as African American. They would not even tell me if I was approved or what would the possible limits would be even after seeing my income. They complained that the way the stub looked because I had to upload from my phone. I will be filing with several agencies including the state attorney general. I have been with Neighborhood Credit Union for a while now and this is the first time I've had an issue, and it's a BIG ONE. I got scammed by a guy named Raymundo. He was supposed to come fix my fence. I Zelled him $2000 as a down payment. I trusted him because he did my neighbor fence. Months and months go by, he never showed up. I texted him weekly, and his response was the same: "I have to check with my dad to see when we can make it". So I caught on to the scam late. Once I caught on, I just told him to refund my money. Months and months go by, no refund. So I finally thought to file a dispute. I called NCU to explain everything that happened. The first rep I spoke to, put in the claim. So a month go by, I never hear anything about the claim, nor did I see the dispute in my app. So I called again and this rep stated that the claim can't be disputed because I waited so long to file. So I called Zelle support to see if they could do something. They said they couldn't because I sent the payment through the bank. I also asked Zelle what's the timeline for filling a dispute, and they said there's no timeline, it can be filled years later. I do not feel like a valued customer. I want to take all my money out and bank with someone else. read more

This is a terrible company to work with, do no do any sort of loans with them, as communication is below substandard and their customer service is flippant, nonchalant, and unknowledgeable. They will ruin any good experiences almost every time, it shocks me how bad my experiences with this CU have been. I'd never work with them again. read more

This review is entirely based on my experience with Angela. Back in May I was closing on my first house and I needed the deposit check for my appt. My rep at the FCU I bank with was MIA and the first credit union (Mobility CU) I stopped into wouldn't cut me the check even though everyone was in the Co-Op network. Only slightly stressful! Moral of this review is Angela went out of her way to help a person who was a Co-Op customer but not one of her CU or even branch. She allowed me to close that day, on time. The best banking experience by far. I knew I did not want to go through a car dealership again when it came to getting an auto loan. I called in to Neighborhood Credit Union completely unsure about how to go about the whole process. I was quickly made comfortable by Tina who was our loan officer. She was able to complete the whole deal over the phone and within 48 hours of us choosing our vehicle. Tina made our whole car buying experience 100% better than what we would've experienced going through a dealership. I would recommend using this credit union to anyone needing a car loan. read more

I wouldn't reccomend anyone to trust Neighborhood Credit Union with their money. Someone went into my account and took $470 out via cashapp and Neighborhood Credit Union refuses to dispute or refund my money. I've been a "valued member" for two plus years and they simply refused to help me to recover my money. I was lied to by one representative and then told by a branch manager that the representative lied and still no resolve for me. I feel robbed by this establishment! I will be closing my account since this debacle cost my car to be repossessed and another bill to be returned. This is the worst banking experience I've ever had!!! read more

I have been having the WORST luck with banks lately trying to cash/get checks written for a sticky situation I'm in. InTouch Credit Union and Bank of America both turned me and my father away without even suggesting ways to solve the issues and Neighborhood Credit Union took care of us so quickly and efficiently it truly made my day and situation a lot better. I have been banking with NCU for the past 2 years and to be honest they were great. I bank with them because I was trying to get away from Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo with all their unnecessary fees and mismanagement with funds etc. Recently NCU changed their fee policy to start charging fees where they use to not charge them. This has been a huge inconvenience in my financial system due to how I bank. Using my Line of credit for my checking account. They use to have no charges for auto draft to the line of credit and now it is $5 for each transaction. This give me a vibe of the banks I mentioned earlier and it is very disappointing. I feel like this is only a ploy to get more money due to the fact they did it for free just fine for the past 2 years. Just incase you miss to transfer your money every once in a while they'll get that 5$ (Each auto transfer). Also NCU never sent out information that they were going to change the fees. I was on the phone trying to get the date and time for 30 minutes. Snakes just started taking money. I finally have the email because i had to request it from the bank manager. IT WAS NOT IN MY E-MAIL. Time to find a new bank. read more

I bank here because it is close to my house, and it is a credit union... I do not like the fact they charge you a $20.00 dollar fee for checking account. The customer service in Coppell, is the best, but look hoe far you have to go...Lancaster has to do better in this area, I don't know if they are overworked, overwhelmed, or what, but no matter what time of day, they are unhappy. After getting the run arounds from the Mobility FCU I ended up here and am so happy I did! The two ladies who assisted me were nice and had great customer service skills. I needed a withdraw from a shared bank and though I won't be changing my CU anytime soon if I do I know where to come. There was no wait time and I was in an out within 5 minutes. This is my favorite credit union in the area. We use them as a shared branch, still keeping our BECU accounts from Washington state. The tellers are friendly and the drive through has a little camera they talk to you through if you're in the lane not right next to the window. read more

I would give NO stars if I could! Have been with this Credit union for years and they have done nothing other than charge bogus fees and offer no help what so ever. I have both joint checking and savings and individual checking and savings here. At one point I had nearly 100k in my savings and overdraft on my checking connected to my savings. I forgot to transfer money onto my checking and they still paid from the checking but charged me several "courtesy pay fees" for paying transactions. Later on when I questioned this happening again I was told that they were supposed to take out of my savings and not charge the courtesy pay fees which they refunded the 2 I contacted them about but never returned the other several fees I was charged in the past. This is in addition to the fact that during the pandemic, the branches were not open, but you cannot deposit cash in ATM's but have to do it through a teller. And additionally, they capped their ATM refunds to only $20, all WHILE their branches were closed so they could pocket all the fees we all had to pay due to their closures. Then to top things off, we had past emergency credit issues due to health and have since been repairing our credit. Credit unions were supposed to be easier to get loans as they look at everything and not just one thing. We have been offered and given loans such as car loans, but this credit union only sends you emails inviting you to apply and then denies you every time (which hurts your credit more!). Other than cost us money, be completely inconvenient, and hurting our credit worse, this place is TERRIBLE! There are many other issues like not being able to transfer money between my individual and my joints accounts, etc. STAY AWAY and find a more reputable, caring credit union because this one is worse than any of the big banks I have dealt with over the years and thought I was getting away from! I now realize that my 20+ years at Wells Fargo was WAY BETTER than anything I have dealt with at Neighborhood Credit Union!!! read more

I usually never have any issues when I visit this branch, but yesterday was a blatant exception. All I wanted to do was pay my car loan, but that seemed to have been an inconvenience to the young woman helping me. This young woman, Katie, was very short with me when I noticed I did not bring my ID with me to make a payment. After I realized that working with her would offer me no solution to make my payment, I requested to speak with her branch manager. There was an obvious change in tone when her manager came to assist me. We went from working with the loudly sighing associate to what seemed like a ray of sunshine. The manager was very polite and was ready to offer me options on how I could perform my transaction without my ID: "do you have a picture of yours?", "is it in the car?", and lastly, "does the person who drove you here have theirs?". We finally found a solution without attitude that would allow the manager and Katie to keep doing their jobs, and send me on my way. I understand people have bad days, but that should not be taken out on the customer. Thank goodness for kind managers! read more

Ahhh. I was soo happy when i found out a credit union was opening so close to home! I originally had my membership at Texans CU, which you just need to see the reviews for that place to see why people complained. Neighborhood CU was the best choice I made banking wise. I have my checking and savings there. They have different checking offers with various awards, which I love. Some even have itune awards which I think are perfect if you are a mom of a teen and you want to help them esablish credit, the itunes awards would be a great option for them. Everyone here is extremely helpful and have the best customer service! I don't know if this is just this financial facility that does this, but I love when I come inside I just need to hand them my member number and they can deposit my checks with just that. It's just convienent to have to just hand them my card with my member number instead of having to fill out a deposit receipt...also envoinrmental friendly ;).
