I'm so happy they sold my loan - I was going to refi out, but this market is terrible. They are absolutely awful. In April they double charged me for my mortgage (their mistake that couldn't be corrected), then because Cook County tax bills are delayed... decided that because I couldn't prove on paper how much I'll owe for my 2nd installment 2021, that my taxes are actually 2x reality ($18k/year). May payment is $1k/mo over my standard payment - all for escrow. So you're sitting on money and what... making interest on it? It took over a month for anyone to figure out what was happening with my account. Lots of confused employees saying something was in fact wrong... Run. read more

I was working with Karen Ziska and I'm glad I didn't choose this company as a lender. I would have ended up paying $15-20k more than what I should have for my new home loan. Even though their interest rate was slightly lower compared to others and I was getting seller concessions, it still didn't seem to make a difference in the total amount I had to pay back. When I wanted a breakdown of my cost, the information that was given to me was not itemized, it was confusing (because cost were merged together, without saying what they were for) and things just didn't seem to add up. They will push for everything to process quickly, however, it's done this way so you won't have time to check other resources and notice how much you're over paying for the loan. The customer service was horrible when an issue came about. While I was working with them after becoming suspicious, I tried to cancel my appraisal and was informed nothing will happen unless I scheduled the appointment. Somehow the appraisal still took place and NHL was only willing to credit me back a partial refund. The appraisal company & NHL both blamed each other for the misinformation & cost. When I reached out to Juan, a supervisor at NHL, about the situation he never contacted me back. Last but not least, once I advised Karen I would be going with another lender she started to respond unprofessionally through text and emails. In a nutshell, I'm glad I didn't complete my home buying process with NHL. I'm encouraging all to take their time with this process and if something doesn't make sense to you it's probably because it actually doesn't. read more

Dont recommend they are very deceptive Sort of like a used car salesman. Go to the bank you currently have your mortgage with.. Make sure you have everything in writing/email. They Did not disclosue very important information. I even sent an email asking the question why was my refinance amout larger than the payoff balance and the response was in escrow nothing about points nothing about closing costs etc said I should receive the difference in refund check. Called to ask about why not use Quickenloans instead and he said We Strictly deal with banks, you can actually go to a person, with them its an online service: WEll my loan is with a similar company as Quickenloans ,. The mortagage is not as he said it would be it is with an online company That has bad reviews. Very unhappy, is understatement. He kept on pointing fingers, not the mistakes he made. Bottom line Go to a Bank for mortgage or refinance.. Regardless of them being top rated no clue how , they are deceptive to their clients and don't disclose important information especially when asked. read more

This is the worst most unprofessional loan company to work with. If I could give it zero stars I would. It is very unfortunate that this company has a worker like Jonathon Volpe working there. He has made the process of getting our dream home such a nightmare. This person is very unprofessional and could care less of his job. Thanks to him I was not able to get the dream house me and my husband wanted. He never locked down our percentage rate when we told him to and I have text messages that prove it. He tried to amend his mistake by giving us a lower rate so that we could buy a house which was a buy-down. We had to pay to get a lower rate, which to me is inexcusable. Why would we have to pay for his mistake? It should be coming out of his pocket not ours. He had the audacity to tell my realtor that we never told him when clearly we did (pictures below). He never took our business seriously. If he didn't want to make a sale he could have just told us straight up and we wouldn't have wasted our time. His customer service was beyond the worst one I have ever encountered and I hope to never deal with this company again. I will be taking my business else where and wouldn't recommend anyone to this company due to a particular loan officer. I would not be surprised if this similar situation happens to someone else and it would be really unfortunate. I cannot stress this enough, Do not get this particular loan officer. I am a Realtor and this was the 2nd time I received a pre-approval for a buyer from this company that didn't indicate that the buyer needed an FHA loan. I am the listing Realtor. The loan officer, called me to ask if the condo building was FHA approved. Any decent Lender should know to go to hud.gov to look it up, and should not be calling me. The pre-approval that I received from them for this buyer had absolutely nothing indicating the buyer needed an FHA loan. My seller's depended on this preapproval when they accepted the contract. It was a false pre-approval. Be very aware that they may try to dupe you. Be sure to ask before you count on them. read more
