Provolone burger (mushrooms and grilled onions) with onion rings.

Three of us ate lunch here for the first time. Our first impression walking in was wow, this place is dark! Bartender was super friendly and said "give it a few minutes and you'll be fine". He then said we're known for our burgers but we have a quarter rack of ribs for lunch today. We all had different types of burgers and they were all delicious. They ranged in price from $13-$15 with fries or rings $3. The bar scene was all locals bellyed up having drinks and a good time. We got there by 11:30 and were out by 12:45. The inside was definitely set up for karaoke or a band as there is a DJ booth and dance floor. It appears to be a great place to hang out with some friends and enjoy a cold one.

Josh (not Neil) the bartender was an absolute 100/10. We were visiting and he gave us an empty bottle of casa azul after hearing me talk about it!

I've known of this place way before Mrs.DeLeon bought it. It's an amazing entertainment experience when you go there. The staff and management team provide great customer service and the food is delicious. Restrooms are clean and neat. I highly recommend this place

Everything about Big Rock Pub is great. The visuals immediately capture you as you walk in, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The service staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the drinks made by the bartender were excellent. The food did not disappoint either. We started with the garlic parmesan wings, which were incredibly flavorful and a great way to begin the meal. Next, we had the Caesar salad and the BBQ chicken pizza. The Caesar salad portion was huge, easily enough for two people and probably even enough to share among four. The BBQ chicken pizza was absolutely delicious and a standout dish for us. I want to give a special shout-out to Carlos and the food runner working tonight. He was very friendly and made a point to check on us as he passed by to make sure everything was good. In my opinion, that kind of attentiveness is what separates average service from seasoned food and beverage professionals. For dessert, we ordered the churros, which had an amazing filling that instantly hooked us. Our 3- and 5-year-old also enjoyed their kids' meals, and the fact that each kids' meal includes a sundae was a great touch. We can't wait to return, this is definitely a spot worth trying

We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. The Nest is still one of the most fun places in the desert!

"Vicky's of Santa Claus"…read more The restaurant is way too loud -- even if you're seated way out in the back on the opposite side, far far away from the live music. The crowd: mostly local seniors who like to drink & drink and shout out loud when they speak. Not that there's a problem with that. It's not my thing or scene. The owner & manager, Marc & Mark have serious attitude problems and way too full of themselves. They're extremely rude and unprofessional. This is not just coming from me -- other reviewers shared their true feelings too. Service was very s-l-o-w and had to flag everyone down for everything & anything -- even for refills of water and bread. Never asked if anyone wanted to order another adult beverage. Had to ask for dessert menus long after finished with dinner. Their bread tho is good and deserves half a star (of my 2-star rating) Wifey's wine by the glass not good. It was supposed to be a Pinot. It tasted more like a fruity-tutti red. I sampled it and agree. Food is average/mediocre. Nothing memorable. Menu is simple and not overwhelming. Prices are on the higher end but standard. Portions are fairly large. Calamari was overcooked and way too chewy...and the seasoning tastes like Spicy Doritos. It's rare I/we meet a calamari we don't like. All entrees are ala carte... My rack of lamb was served rare & raw and the prep chef was extremely heavy handed with the salt. Because that's all you can taste -- along with the extra gamey chewy lamb. Wifey's veal chop was excellent quality (worthy of another star) but lacked seasoning and there's no sauce. It needs a little sauce. We dined with another couple who raved to us about Vicky's...so we decided not to be rude and complain. Baked potato was served underdone. That's where we drew-the-line and sent it back and didn't ask for a replacement. Asparagus was excellent and best thing of my entire meal...worth another 1/2 star. Dessert options were so boring we all took a hard pass. Can you say, simple apple pie or ice cream? Worst dessert offerings I've seen in a long time at a fine dining resto. I've refrained from writing this review but felt the need to express my freedom of speech. Maybe it's a good thing they're closed throughout the summer and reopening in September, so you don't have to waste your time & money here.

*Mi Casa es Su Casa*…read more My buddy had a small casual bday get-together with his family and invited me to join the celebration. I saw all the favorable reviews on Yelp and was looking forward to my first visit at Casa Mendoza. Very chill & lively family owned Mexican joint in Old Town LQ. The place was kinda busy @6:30pm on Hump Night ~~ always a great sign when I see this. Felt more like a Sunday Evening. It took an hour to receive our meals. Ordered @6:45 arrived @7:45pm. Good thing the Chimichanga & Gauc apps arrived pretty quickly. The Gauc was Excellente. All their food was very good. But all our meals arrived cold/lukewarm. Took forever to receive our food and we knew for a fact it's because all our plates sat a while until we were served. The actual plates weren't even warm and the sizzling fajitas had sizzled out and lost its dazzle. Because it was still 95 degrees when dinner was finally served, our lukewarm meals were doable on a hot night. Everyone did enjoy their meals tho. I was very pleased with my Mahi Mahi in Garlic Butter Sauce. The refried beans were outstanding. The rice very good...and I made tacos with the 3 corn tortillas. But would have enjoyed it even more had all the food been a little warmer. I stuck with H2O but all margarita drinkers said their drinks were good and hit the spot on a warm night. The service in general was also inconsistent for our small party of 8. The Birthday Boy was a little frustrated and got up a few times from his throne seeking assistance -- such as missing tortillas for meals, water refills, extra napkins. We even had to wait longer than anticipated for them to acknowledge the bday boy with a celebratory bday song & sombrero...and the fried ice cream, which didn't include a candle. Tho we all enjoyed ourselves and time together...a 2 hour dinner at a Mexican joint on a Wednesday night wasn't what we anticipated. Especially with one restless 7 year old ;-) But everyone working at Casa Mendoza is very friendly with great attitudes. Hostess team, waiters, servers & runners too. So that made up for the spotty service, just a little bit. Since I'm closer to the other Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert, I'd go there in the future with my wife, and order the exact same thing. But hope for much better service and warmer food.
