I placed an online order for the first time for two sale items. Both were my same size I always wear, and one was way too large and the other way too small. I paid to return them, and they were sent back on Jan. 20, which was 2 weeks ago, but I never received a refund, so I just lost over $80. I hate writing negative reviews. Really. But I had a hurtful and rude experience here yesterday and it sucked. And I would like others to not have to deal with that if at all possible. Two years ago I weighed a little more and talbots was a place that carried my size. I went in to purchase jeans and a sweater. Upon arriving at the counter with my purchases I was met by a saleswomen who spent half an hour trying to get me to sign up for their card. Even though it was highly annoying to be talked at about how silly I was not to want to get their card she finally accepted my firm no and checked me out. No mention of a return policy time limit. That's okay if they have one. I just wish I had been informed of things like that rather than pressured for 30min to get a card with them. Anyway. That brings us to yesterday. The jeans worked great but I never wore the sweater. I never even took the tag off. So yesterday I tried to take it back. My friend and I were in the middle of running errands and were not dressed too spiffy so perhaps that is why the same woman who sold me the pants and tried to pressure me for 30 min gave us the look she gave us. The look seemed to say "what in the world are you grungy looking people doing in my store?" That's fine. I'm not one to take things like that personally. However the look of disgust remained on her face as she told me there was NO way she could take the sweater back, not even for store credit. This was a 100$ sweater in perfect condition. Maybe that is their policy and that's fine. She didn't have to be so rude and mean about it though. I just feel sad for this women because she is obviously not very happy with her life, though I am sure she does well for talbots, she seemed efficient, just really mean. I hope your life improves lady at talbots or you consider that sometimes your customers don't have time to put on make up and do our hair before we come in your store. Just because we have different hair colors than the norm does not mean we aren't worth common politeness. And maybe try to help a regular customer without the sneer? I won't be shopping there anymore. I was happy to pay their really high prices bc I didn't have their card and the prices are high without their card, but I'm not going to go there anymore. So does anyone want to buy a perfect black sweater from talbots :))). It still has that new sweater from talbots smell! read more

I never knew what a fan I was of Talbots until I met Lou Chandler. My friend who always dresses very professionally and cute (oxymorons for sure but that girl has it goin' on) decided I needed to meet her secret weapon, Lou. My idea was to go in, smile, say hello, purchase a little marked down item and leave. That absolutely did not happen. Lou toured me through the store and showed me the things she liked and what she thought would look good on my body type. (I'm a triangle. You know, small butt, larger boobage.) We carried a pile of clothes into the dressing room and I proceeded to love almost everything she recommended! My new Fashion Guru was very low key and never tried to sell me on anything. She gave me the space to make good decisions based on my budget and what I liked. The only time Lou was ever so slightly insistent was when I slipped into pants I thought were too tight and she said, "Just give them 15 minutes sitting in your car and they'll stretch to fit you". She was right. For years my wardrobe consisted of clothing that was purchased on sale, cuz that's the way I roll. It occurs to me, now, post Lou, that they were on sale because they weren't really that cute. That was my lightbulb moment after hanging my new pretty full price items up in my closet. read more

This store has awful service and management. They are not equipped to serve their customers. Take your business somewhere else.

Love their terrific, consistently sized...easy to coordinate, & always updated - "top of the line" clothing. Their clerks are knowledgeable and friendly. Additionally, they offer points and often have sales promotions. I have shopped at the Barton Creek Talbots for over 20 years, often in jeans and running shoes, even after washing the car! I have never had anything but first class service in buying or returning items, always the clerks have been gracious at Talbots (they don't even blink when I return something and are quite friendly about it). Not one clerk has spent time trying to get me to apply for a card You can't beat that! Talbots is great! read more

I love this store! They are always focused on the customer. They assist you, just like good old days and the classy "dress store". What I mean is they start a dressing room for you, bring you different sizes if needed, help create an outfit..... cater to your every need! I always feel special and waited on like a "queen." This past Saturday I was in the store and bought a few items, as they were having a crazy good sale. Today, (Monday), I received a "thank you" card in the mail, thanking me for my purchases from Saturday. Wow! Customer Service at its finest!!! Incredible team and service- thank you! read more

Wow! What a great experience I had yesterday at Talbots with Mark Carrillo, the store manager. I set up an appointment to get some assistance in putting together outfits for an incoming trip. I admit I was at first reluctant to work with a guy, but Mark was amazing. He really know the Store's merchandise, how the misses vs petite clothes fit, and how to put things together to get different looks with relatively few pieces. I cannot say enough about the incredible service and attention that I received. If I could give him more stars, I would! Mark even took advantage of things on sale to help keep the costs down. I have had not had such a good experience shopping ever. My favorite place to shop! Staff is always friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. I can always find great looking clothes for any occasions. When they are having sales, I always get a lot of great buys. If you like for the staff to help you locate the right sizes, help with your selection and be informed on the inventory, stop by Talbots in Barton Creek Mall and check it out for yourself.
