We went out of our way to visit this spot because my daughter loves coffee and cats. We planed to get coffee and pet some cats. You have to pay attention so you don't miss it. There's a single door on a brick building. You have to step down into the building. As soon as you walk in, you'll see cats sleeping in a room. We were welcomed in and were given info about their place. It's cute inside with merch and a seating area. My daughter was looking forward to this spot only to find out they require reservations to visit the cats. They were booked out for another hour and a half so we weren't able to see them or go back. I happened upon Neko on 11-16-25 while visiting Seattle for a weekend. Appointments are needed, so i booked one. I had a great time at Neko. Sweet little kitties! They were noticeably well-cared-for, a few were openly friendly, while others were content to sleep. I'm certain this varies wildly throughout the day, because kitties are kitties. The staff are openly proud of their care for cats and their success at finding loving adopters. $25 for a 45-minute cat interaction session may seem steep to some, but as cat therapy, it was quite effective. We made a booking in advance, knowing that this Neko location is usually booked out on the weekends. However, our visit was on a weekday, when there tends to be a lot more availability. Unfortunately, our drive down from Vancouver had three bad bouts of traffic (road construction and one accident). In a panic on the road, we emailed Neko to let them know we were running late and asked if it would be possible to be moved to a later session that day. By the time we arrived and checked in, 15 minutes of our 45-minute booking had already passed - meaning that we'd only have 30 minutes left of our paid visit. The staff member at check-in said we could head in right away. We asked if, since the session had already started, we could either be moved to a later session or have our full time extended? She explained that their policy for any rescheduling is 24 hours in advance, and that the team needs 15 minutes between sessions for sanitizing. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, the lack of empathy and customer service bothered me. We had just driven a long way to get here. Once we entered the cat area of the cafe, I was shocked by how small the area is, it's like the size of a walk-in closet. Maybe that explains why it's always booked out, because their capacity is limited. I was also surprised by the high cost, especially considering the space and the experience. I can only imagine if we had been 30 minutes or more late, we would have completely lost our booking. This location didn't feel worth the visit and I was disappointed to say the least. On a positive note, the Bellingham Neko location has much more space and thus more capacity, making it my choice if I were to visit a Neko Cat Cafe again. read more

My sister and I showed up about 15-20 minutes early for our reservation, so we took some time to look over the menu and order a few items. We order a cookie, a milk tea in a can, and the Meowmosa to share. The cats are all so lovely. They are SO SOFT!!! They are very well taken care of. Please consider all this stuff before booking so you wont feel like you wasted your money like me.... First when u book online you have to pay 25$ for 45min session and you have to tip them. Later if you decide to order coffee at the store they will ask u again to tip... after you are all set, you can head in to the ONLY room that they already has 6 or 7 cats sleeping/hanging in there. So the next part will see if you are lucky or unlucky in your life...if you're unlucky like me you will share a room(not really big) with 8-9 other people.....please keep in mind there was also several cats in the room already.... All the Cats have a little door to use to go to the other room... but if you are in there with 8 other people...and if all of u order coffee, you dont even have enough tables to put coffee on.....and not to much space to move around..... Also, f you have someone bring like a camera to do vlog and they just stick it to a specific "sleeping" cat and not moving at all....there might be a chance that you cannot pet or come close to any cats. I had problems breathing with too many people in a small space so we left early...and i also know if cats sniff me and turn away and nap I should leave them alone...like no petting and not disturb...but the whole time I was there, all the cats were in "do not disturb" mode and they were being disturbed perpetually....:( And if you're lucky you don't have to share the room with too many people. Anyway all the cats seem healthy and in average weight. After all It could be a place for u to check out adoptable cat and hang out with them before you bring them home. Even though I arrived an hour before close, the staff I interacted with were really enthusiastic, courteous, nice, and helpful. The cafe was neat, tidy and had a cozy atmosphere. There were lots of cute things to buy, like art, stickers, trinkets, clothes, and pet items. There were many sweet and savory snack and drink items to choose from on the menu, including several gluten-free ones. (I wanted to get a gluten-free cake pop, but those are so popular, the cafe was all out.) I treated myself to a mochi filled with red bean paste and a cute pink tabby macaron flavored with strawberry and cherry blossom, which were tasty and decently priced. They also had birthday cake flavored gray tabby cat macarons, which were super adorable. The cat room has lots of places for cats and people to hang out. There are even several window beds so the cats can look outside. There are lots of toys people can use to play with the cats. The cats range in age and are all adorable, and they all seem very comfortable around people and well socialized. There were at least six cats that I could see and maybe a couple more napping in quiet corners. This is a great and fun cafe to visit with friends, family, and dates. I highly recommend visiting even if you do not have the opportunity to interact with the cats directly, although there are windows so people in the cafe can easily look into the cat room. The prices to visit with the cats is pretty reasonable ($25 for 45 minutes per person), since all of that money goes towards food and care for the cats. Stopped by for a 45 min session ($25 pp) to play with the cats! We had a sweet time and were joined by six other people (8 people max per time slot are allowed in). Love that you can order beer / snacks / other drinks if you want, and you can enjoy these while in the room with the cats. Couple of rules they lay out: 1. No picking up any cats 2. Those 45 minutes go by quick and the cat bouncer was really friendly and informative. I didn't enjoy being inside the cafe and play room considering how hot it was, but luckily the staff brought out the AC/fan. On the otherhand, the cats were super adorable and petting them really reduced my stress and anxiety. They have a list on the new cats who just came in and it also shows who's available to adopt. Beautiful delightful cats, obviously! A wonderful experience and I'm glad they're helping these cats get adopted. One note: They only have a single door to the cat room (unlike Meowtropolitan which has a butterfly-garden style two-door safety system), and when we were there, they also propped open the front door of the cafe, directly to the outside. So in a room with maybe 8 cats (and when the staff wasn't in there the whole time), the likelihood of one of the cats slipping out and then getting directly outside is unnecessarily high! People arrived late throughout the visiting slot, so it's not like the cat room door only opens once every 45 minutes. There's no reason at all to prop open the front door of the cafe - get better signage if people walking by might miss the door, but you have to prioritize the cats' safety above all! When arriving definitely look out for their door as it was easy to miss since they are a semi-basement unit. When you enter you see the cat room to your left and cute merch to your right, and the merch definitely does not disappoint. The cafe area is very well kept and cute. If you're coming for the cat room experience you check in with the barista in the cafe and they even have a stamp card. I've had a bit of a rough year and my friend took me here to help cheer me up - and let me tell you, it is very hard to not have a good time in a room full of kitties wearing bow ties. Yes, you read that right - bow ties. You have to schedule an appointment time and most of the felines are available for adoption. You get to sit and play with them while having a coffee or even a glass of wine. If you're looking for something random and fun to do in the Seattle area, this is it. Visiting from California and noticed this cute cafe near Capitol Hill and had to stop by. Made a reservation and walked in 5 mins before the slot and had no issues. My first time in one and this place is absolutely adorable, all the cats are so sweet and do not mind being pet during their beauty sleep. On the lower slopes of Capitol Hill nestles a somewhat peculiar tourist destination: one of Seattle's handful of cat cafes, known as Neko. Through my stressful time living two blocks away from Neko while fostering my beloved cat with a relative in another neighborhood, this little space set into the ground on the corner of Pine and Belmont gave me solace with its array of beautiful, inquisitive cats rolling playfully around their amply-provisioned room or sleeping comfortably in the windows (and sometimes posing for my camera). When I had the time to come in, the pawtenders greeted me pleasantly and helped me get to know the cats and unwind from the tension of the day. In an age of drama and high tension, Neko's Seattle location provided an island of feline and human calm. The pawtenders were always pleasant and willing to talk, and the menu was always fun to check out. The options for _pan_ (a Japanese pastry with a filling that's usually savory) make for a delightful snack, the cat-shaped cookies are a delight to view, and the everpresent coffee (as well as tea and kombucha) is good and reasonably-priced for the neighborhood. The available alcoholic drinks (beer, cider, wine, and hard seltzer) are pleasant but not too strong, and the pawtenders watch over patrons carefully to make sure they're not too intoxicated to abide by the calm atmosphere or interact safely with the cats. The cafe section of this location is small but boasts a comfortable ambience. On less busy days, it is a wonderful place to have some coffee or tea and a snack and dwell with a book or some work for a while. However, if you do, be aware that large groups of visitors preparing to enter the cat room will come and go. Of course, the cat room is the main feature here. I confess I have never gone into it; the time and pricing ($22 for 45 minutes with the cats) was never right for me, and I never had a good group to do it with. But I have observed from both outside on the sidewalk and inside at the counter how much fun the visiting groups have with the cats--as well as how active, healthy, and entertained all the cats are. The employees all adore their location's cats and will be happy to bend your ear about the status of their favorites and whether the latest of the adoptable residents has found a fur-ever home. It is always a delight to pause by the windows on my way past the cafe late at night and observe the cats playing with the closing employees as they clean the room and check on the feline residents. The impression I get is also that the employees are respected and treated well, which is a major aspect I look for at any business location involving customer service employees. Pawtenders are granted the authority to use their own music playlists at the bar (one of the specific things I look for when trying to gauge what freedom and respect they have, due to my own experiences in retail and customer service), and more than that, some of them are invited to sell their cat-themed independent art in the location along with the official Neko products. I can't end without a shoutout to those official products: Neko has a wide array of fun merchandise themed around both cats in general and the Neko business in particular, from clothing to enamel pins to cat toys. In particular, I am deeply endeared to their practice of creating and selling monthly stickers and enamel pins of resident cats, encouraging visitors to get to know and love their feline personnel. Although I no longer live around the corner from this location, I have it in mind to return here seeking an island of genial calm and feline affection still. read more

My 7 year old and I walked in the rain, up a hill 15 minutes to get to the cafe after being super excited to check the place out. We almost missed it as it is tucked in a corner and you have to walk downstairs into the business. I had found the business on YELP and it gave me good directions to get there. On arriving there is a stairway down and the cat room to the left. Once you walk past the cat room, it takes you into a very small area with a bar. There was an employee there, nice, but just nonchalant. I let her know we were there to do a kitty visit and she let me know they had no more reservations for the entire day. It was 5:30 on a Sunday... she said we could watch the cats. So we did just that and it felt like we were at a Z00. There were 3 sets of 2 people when we arrived and within 5 minutes they had left and there was no one in the cat room. Another lady was there after everyone left cleaning the area and Petting the cats. As we were still watching like zoo goers, I thought hey maybe they will be nice and let my child pet these cats. We had come all the way from LAs Vegas and I let them know we could not come back as we were flying out the next day. But nope! We continued to stay for about 15 more minutes and the room was still empty. Maybe the cats needed a rest from sleeping? Not sure, but I wasn't even aware about the reservation which I completely understand as it is a small area. But, after further reading the reviews it appeared they also took walk ins. Came here with my boyfriend to the cat cafe, it's $25 for 45 minutes! Each session starts at the beginning of each hour. We initially planned for 8 PM, but ended up calling to push back our session by an hour to 9 PM (their last session of the day). Would not recommend going at this time, the summer heat and late hours made the kitties privy to falling asleep. I'd wager going during colder weather and in the morning/before the middle of the day would be better to see more excited and playful cats. The workers informed us that there were a couple of cats that were new to the cat cafe and were still a bit touchy, and that it would be better to steer clear of them. Only a handful were willing to play with us and a lot were asleep/escaped to the employees only section of the room. There were a lot of toys laying around and different nooks and crannies that they were sleeping in! The playpen is very well decorated. The workers are very kind and enjoy explaining how they take care of the cats, how they get acclimated to living with each other, and various fun facts about their personalities. You can tell that they really love these cats! I haven't been to a traditional cat cafe in Japan, but they sold a lot of cute cat merchandise and stickers that are perfect for animal lovers. my daughter took me here after the death of our beloved Coady kitty. I loved that cat so much.. She had a unique personality. she was independent. Especially loved being outdoors. we left a window propped open, for her to come and go, unlike most cats. Her presence helped my daughter so much. My daughter struggled with bullying and. adolescence challenges. so the loss of our beloved Coady kitty was huge. since we had her for eleven years before she got sick,. she remapined a beloved figure in our lives. How we missed her. So, in our sadness, my daughter makes a time for us to visit. . she arranges for me to come here and try to absolve my grieve with kitty loving. Actually, it was a help. I loved being around all the cats they have. some were not active, other cats sought out the affection we gave. one cat even crawled on my back to be petted. this experience was helpful in mourning the loss of my cat. I loved the cute cat beverages offered here, got several and they were great, Helpful staff in connecting you to more receptive k kitties and Bypassing more standoffish kitties, we were able to get kitty redemption. This is a small intimate cafe with some cats that are full time residents and some that are up for adoption. They have appointments for the cat room at the top of the hour and it is a 45 minute experience. The servers were very nice and really played into to cat puns when we walked in for food. We went in the evening at 6pm and the cats were kind of sleepy so that is something to consider. Overall a great family experience. I found Neko from their extremely entertaining and well-run Instagram account highlighting all the current residents and their fictional backstories. 10/10! The actual cat part of the cafe was a bit smaller than I expected from the social media version, so it did feel a bit cramped sharing it with two other parties. That's my only negative though, and I get it because rent be expensive. The staff clearly have a lot of passion for the kitties, and the room has plenty of nooks, shelves, and beds for the cats to sleep, play, and explore. All of them were adorable and clearly receive some amazing care and attention. Keep an eye out for Jean Jacket if he hasn't been adopted yet. Cute cats but I'm not sure what was going on - they were so fast asleep they didn't even react to being touched, and you're not allowed to pick them up. Other cat cafes I've been to are full of lively kittens in a much bigger space. These cats seemed unnaturally exhausted. My mom actually just fell asleep bc we really couldn't interact with the cats but paid so much we felt like we couldn't leave... kind of odd. Wouldn't go back. read more
