I've never had anything I didn't like from Jollidaze. It is owned by the same family that owns Dochi in the Uwajimaya village. Jollidaze has delicious food and more than anything I recommend their strawberry shortcake sundae! It truly tastes like the shortcake ice cream bars. I especially loved these last year when I was pregnant. If you ever get a chance to go during the holiday season, it is especially magic in the space. It is a family friendly space, made with so much love by the family who runs it. Today I tried the coco-matcha and was pleasantly surprised! it's creamy and rich on the light side, and if you let it settle, it mixes well together. Nice for a summer day! I have tried their coffee before which is richer, i preferred the coco-matcha personally. the matcha is in the cold-foam, which floats atop the coconut water. I've associated Jollidaze with their holiday photo ops and honestly, didn't know they were open outside of the last few months in the year. Basically, I thought they were a pop up. They sell themselves around being a holiday themed shop which isn't a bad thing, but when it's not the holiday season, the charm feels almost mismatched. All that to say, I love the idea, the space, and the vibes here but have often looked past it because of my perception with the branding. However, I will say their menu is great and the holiday joy is more of a supplement rather than a cover up or gimmick. I would comfortably visit Jollidaze for their drinks and get a working session. Wifi available, washroom (restrooms) available, and outlets available. Ube Phe Latte - rich, creamy, ube foam on top of a strong ca phe! There's also some ube milk, so a three layered drink. Both parts of ube were nutty, sweet, and paired with the ca phe amazingly. Strong Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk always hits but the ube mixture is a cherry on top. Up there with the other ube coffees around. Strawberry Matcha - honestly a simple no frills strawberry matcha. Smoothly whisked matcha, lightly sweetened strawberry puree, and a cup to be mixed in. Maybe more jam than other spots, which can help sweeten the drink and add some texture (chewiness), so might have to say above average. read more

I'm surprised I haven't done a review for Jollidaze yet despite coming a few times now over the course of however long they've been opened. I remember first coming here when they were supposed to be a pop-up concept by I think it was Dochi? It was first meant to be a holiday festive dessert shop during Christmas and the decor was pretty cute. I took my girlfriend here and we had a nice time. Since then, they've changed the concept into becoming more of a quaint Vietnamese cafe with a good selection of coffee and matcha options and some other bites. I think it throws me off a little though that they still decided to keep Jollidaze as the name and you can see old Christmas decor in the back, despite them trying to look more modern and aesthetically pleasing. I think it would definitely do them better in marketing if they completely finished the rebranding with a fresh new name and hiding away that old decor. Other than the visual critique, service has always been friendly since the beginning, and it's a nice place to sit down and get some work done. My most recent visit I decided to get the Vietnamese coffee with matcha foam on top. It was pretty good, but one thing I've noticed is that the coffee tasted more like it came straight from one of those instant Vietnamese coffee packets like Trung Nguyen Legend rather than the coffee having more of the distinct phin taste. I have walked by Jollidaze sooooo many times but never entered. I always thought it was a shaved ice place. It turns out they changed ownership some time ago and is mostly a drinks place. Their holiday decor (i.e. jolli in their name) is hidden behind bookcases during the summertime. On this hot day, we wandered in looking for shaved ice, AC, a place to seat, and a clean bathroom. We got two out of four. No AC but had comfortable seating, a clean bathroom, and some really tasty drinks. Service was friendly. It wasn't busy, and they delivered drinks to where we were sitting. Thanks for that. The Drinks: Ube Phe Latte, $6.00 - 4.5 Stars Mango Matcha Latte, $6.50 - 4 Stars Both drinks rank similarly, but the ube latte is the clear winner. The ube and the Vietnamese coffee work super well together. Grab a spoon to scrape the ube creme off the lids and sides. Similarly, a spoon is needed to rescue the last pieces of mango puree at the bottom of the matcha latte. The drinks are 16oz, not the more common 24oz. I prefer this smaller size at a lower price for a premium drink. The overall rating is closer to 4 than 5. I like that they are a comfortable sit-down drinks place that uses good ingredients. I've walked past Jollidaze so many times in the past but have never entered due to boba being my dessert of choice. This past CID Food Walk, however, we couldn't resist visiting to try their Affogato specials. I have to commend Jollidaze on their very well run store. Unlike other eateries which were having trouble handling all the extra traffic from the event, Jollidaze came prepared. They had pieces of paper printed out with the choice of tea (Matcha or Thai Tea) and topping (coconut or corn flake), which the cashier could quickly circle with pen and hand off to the chef. Matcha Affogato ($8) - The ice cream comes very frozen, clearly from an ice cold freezer. It's almost difficult to stick the spoon into the creamy sphere, and it's so cold that it actually manages to freeze the matcha into a harder shell all around the vanilla core. The texture of the frozen matcha is very interesting. Kind of soft like pellet ice, but with a bit of additional grit from the suspended tea particles. The matcha itself isn't too sweet, is pretty grassy in taste, and still has a bit of bitterness, which really contrasts nicely against the sweet vanilla ice cream. I don't know which ice cream brand Jollidaze uses, but based on the density of the cream, it seems to be a high quality super premium selection. The corn flakes on top serve to enhance the textural contrast against the creamier ice cream, and there's also the added touch of a waffle crisp. Just a great dessert overall. (5/5) Thai Tea Affogato ($8) - This one is more uniform in texture vs the matcha since the Thai Tea doesn't freeze around the ice cream. It's a good Thai tea flavor, strong vanilla notes, sweet, just great on top of the ice cream. Flavorwise I actually prefer the Matcha, but texture-wise, the Thai tea is better (the coating from the Matcha is a bit too gritty for my liking). (5/5) I was really impressed with both affogatos. No wonder Jollidaze boasts a 4.8/5 rating. I still prefer boba as my dessert option, but I'm definitely itching to revisit this dessert shop for more. As we entered, my daughters were excitedly yelling "Grinch." Throughout my order, the employee maintained a visibly displeased demeanor. Once I had paid, she rudely stated that "they need to keep it down because people are working." If a business does not welcome excited children, perhaps it is better suited as an adult-only space. When a child is not causing harm to themselves or others, there is no reason to ask them to be silent. I see this place as more of a holiday-themed area, probably because I went here the first time when it was still a Christmas-themed cafe back in 2023. This time, I went here with my sis on a Monday afternoon to try some of their drinks that I kept seeing whenever I walk by here. It was empty inside and kinda bright, and there were still some Christmas decorations on the ceiling. There's an ample number of places to sit inside. I got the ube latte, and my sis got the coco-matcha cloud. Both were really good, and neither was overly sweet. The coco-matcha ended up being my favorite because of the more balanced taste especially when mixing it. Drinks also came out fast, and service was pretty good. Jollidaze was so adorable! Everything was Christmas decorated and there was even a little Santa's workshop around the corner. I had ordered the matcha white chocolate latte and the nutella with milk! The matcha white chocolate latte was tasty, although it sadly only come hot. As for the nutella milk, it was more disappointing in taste. Jollidaze is newly opened, with an abundance of unique drinks + food available! Their pricing is also extremely fair. Before coming in, I expected at least $9 per cup, but to my surprise, it was only $5-7 per drink. We got the Coco matcha cloud and the mango cream dream. Both drinks were extremely refreshing and paired well with their respective flavours. They're also not too sweet, which is the ultimate Asian compliment!! Their cheese corn and tater tots dish was good, not great. But it was a nice little plate to enjoy our drinks with. The interior is spacious and their ceiling has lanterns that make you feel like you're in Vietnam. I cannot wait and come back to try their other drinks!! Delicious Vietnamese coffee spot! Don't let all the Christmas pictures on here deceive you -- this is fully a normal coffee shop that has a good amount of seating and fantastic lighting. Their Christmas room is tucked away behind what looks like a bookshelf, but is a secret door! I got the ube phe latte, which was fantastic. It had a super strong espresso flavor which I love, and the ube cream on top was so flavorful and perfect with a subtle ube flavor. This place is adorable! What a fun idea for a Christmas pop-up. Located in China town near Uwajimaya, it's in prime location easy to access. You could easily have a nice hot pot or ramen lunch and come here for dessert after. The entire interior is decked out in holiday decor from top to bottom. They have fun photo opportunities and displays for kids to explore and enjoy. We did the themed sundaes they had and they were enormous!!! The one with chocolate and red velvet cake was extra chocolatey - I def recommend. The staff was so kind, brought our treats to our table and bussed it for us afterwards. Went to Jollidaze twice! The first time was after Christmas, and it was a beautiful place. I think someone told me they had some IG pre-launch and one of the kids was shown decorating/announcing the place? Regardless, it was a great place to go to during the holidays. I learned there was a Christmas dessert pop-up in the Chinatown-International District neighborhood, and if I'm anything, I'm a sucker for themes. Jollidaze is a Christmas-themed, pop-up dessert shop that serves Snoquamie Ice Cream sweets, drinks and two soups. What was once Milkie Milkie, Jollidaze has taken over and has decked out the shop in red, green and some pinks and pastels. We walked in and I was charmed by the welcoming setting and friendly staff. You order at the counter and depending on your order, you're given a buzzer for when your item is ready. I saw there was an ube sundae, so of course, had to try it. I love ube everything and if you do, too, then you should get this sundae, which includes scoops of ube ice cream, has ube cake pieces and ube wafer sticks, with an ube drizzle and whipped cream. Yes, you should share this because it's huge. (But no judgment if you want this all to yourself.) You can sample the ice cream before settling on a flavor. In addition to ice cream, there were drinks, including espresso, which they can make an affogato and for something more savory, they offer tomato soup or clam chowder. Oh, and they make cotton candy here and have cookies. Yeah, desserts galore. The ambiance is my favorite part of this whole place. I loved that they were playing Home Alone when we visited, making you wanna hang out at the place and quote Kevin. They've done a wonderful job decking the eatery out for Christmas, including the fake snow that's in the back room where the restrooms are located, as soap suds come out with Mariah Carey blasting in the background. I've been here a few times now and I really love both the drinks and the environment of the cafe. The first time I tried the mango cream dream and it was so good! I'm a huge sucker for mango but this was so creaming yet refreshing (kind of tasted like a melted mango sago!). I've also tried the coconut matcha cloud and this was such an interesting combination but worked really well. The top is matcha foam with coconut water on the bottom. The last drink I've tried is the strawberry lychee drink which was so so refreshing! I also love how they use nugget ice here.
