This new locally-owned business is a great addition to downtown. Perfect for people who live and work nearby or for tourists who want to check out our cool downtown! I was able to make my appointment online and was texted confirmation and updates. There is limited free street parking within walking distance and inexpensive metered parking in the lot right next door. When I arrived I was offered a warm foot soak with salts and cold water while I did my paperwork. My massage therapist was Joy who introduced herself, talked to me about pressure and made sure it was okay for her to touch my scalp, feet, and glutes, and asked how I felt about aromatherapy. I really appreciate that she took the time to confirm all these things with me! Neko has two rooms that are curtained off, so you can hear the music playing (they did check with me to make sure that I liked it and I did! Much better than the Enya that I usually hear at massage places - it was more like a chill Spotify channel). Joy was great - I told her I wanted deep pressure and she made it hurt so good! She used a mixture of creams and oil and a few aromatherapy scents. The massage table is warmed and she used hot towels throughout the treatment. My favorite part is that they didn't rush me at the end to get dressed and get out. Joy told me to take my time and I felt like she really meant it. I definitely recommend people add a visit to Neko to the rest of their downtown adventures. There's both a juice bar and donut place next door plus all the restaurants and container park. Located downtown, plenty of street parking is about 4-5 blocks from Fremont Street. Been here twice, first therapist was a gentleman, great technique and got all the right spots on my lower back. Next time I came in, got a therapist and her technique was just hard pressure and stretching- meh, not that great. I think if you find a good therapist, request him. I like that they start your visit with a foot wash and massage, I don't like only a 50 minute session, just do an hour or 90 minute session like everyone else. The place is clean and has nice private rooms, but separated by hanging curtains, do you can hear all the talking and noise from the lobby, not too relaxing.
