Healthy Post-workout meal!! Stopped by the newly opened Nekter Juice Bar in Fremont, right next to one of our favorite spots, Home Eat. I tried the 32g Protein Bowl, and it was delicious. It was actually recommended by our Orangetheory Head Coach, and I'm glad I gave it a try. The ingredients tasted fresh, and it was a great post-workout meal. Finally!!! Something worthy of staying in Fremont that is not the staple frozen yogurt store or boba place! Yay! A place I can eat my heart out without worrying about any icky ingredients or worry if there's too much cane sugar because there isn't any in it!!! So no worries! I'm positively addicted to the peanut butter parfait it's insanely delicious! I literally scrape it clean and am almost always disappointed that my Spoon has hit the bottom. I was looking for something healthy in the area and I found this one, the owner I believe has so much patience with me trying different samples they're giving out he explained what's in it too which is great customer service! I got the pink flamingo it was definitely good and I added some pea protein too. It was refreshing and great with flavors. There are no powder bits you can taste it was well blended! The worker was very helpful in explaining all of their offerings to me. There was some seating and I also noticed some board games, at least a giant connect 4 board. Taste: I ordered the Blueberry Almond Butter super smoothie in size mini & the jam slam waffles. The smoothie was delicious. I got it with vanilla pea protein. It tasted like a berry cake or pastry. The thickness of shake made it very dense and hard to drink too quickly which meant it lasted a while. The jam slam was also delicious and it smelled incredible while they were heating them (made me doubly glad I'd ordered). With 12g of protein and 240 calories. Protein density: The barista assured me that any size drink would have the same amount of protein, since all recipes use the same amount of protein powder. So I take that to mean that my mini 280cal drink had about 40g of protein ‍ at least that's what they told me ;) COST: The most surprising thing by far. For a mini, that was $7-8. A boba or a fancy coffee somewhere else would be the same price if not more, less nutritious and also would've taken me less time to drink bc they're so thin. The pancakes were $4.99. Truly a steal. My husband and I have been waiting for this place to open and it's finally open! I made an online order through yelp as I saw the reviews on here about the long wait times. I set it for 1pm on Friday. We arrived around 12:50pm and they had it just about finished when we got to the cash register. I was going to purchase something else in person, but there were quite a few people waiting so I didn't want to hold up the queue. I ordered the pumpkin spice waffles, mango delight and green apple detox. The waffles were ok, but I probably wouldn't get them again. A little bland. The drinks were good and would definitely come back for drinks! They also gave us a free sample, which was tasty. Inside is quite spacious and they have tables against the windows. No seating though. When we went, they had two workers making the drinks and one at the register. I recommend coming when you're not on a time crunch. Bathroom, I dont really care for a smoothie shop to NEED a bathroom as it is for others that may just need a bathroom but thats neither a hit or miss for me i dont care for it. Protein Bowl/ Smoothie- My Protein Power bowl was perfect in flavor but it got watery pretty quickly. Our smoothie...was very watered down and it wasnt the weather either. it tasted very liquid like from the jump. Id give them a try again but I see there are some things they can improve. Mainly for me, just the consistency of the smoothies for it to be more flavored/ less watery. Wait time- Did have quite a bit of a wait time for a bowl and 1 smoothie. There was a family there who was waiting quite a while too, turns out they ordered in advanced. Probably on the app? We ordered and i think they were barely about to get started on the family's order.. Possibly more employees needed or just quicker pace for the current staff. Cant tell what it is yet. I kind of copied the Valentine's Day build your bowl flavor. These ingredients are fresh, not too sweet and it's worth it. I would come back to try their acai bowl. Although this location is close to my workplace, and drive to Osgood on my way home. I had a chia pudding base, topped with Cacao nibs, sliced bananas and strawberries, with gluten free granola topped with a dark chocolate drizzle on side and top of cup. Delicious! Next time I will order the smallest size. The place has a small dining area with tables but no chairs or stools. This place is meant to be picked up, or to go. I just hoped it stays for long. Inside, there are only two tall bar tables by the windows, but no chairs, and no public restroom since they operate as takeout only. There are no benches to sit on while you wait for your order. You must stand the entire time. For people with hidden disabilities that need to sit, this place has no seating. It didn't seem like he actually knows what he's doing things were disorganized, and it was hard to understand what was going on as I waited for my drink. On top of that, he was walking around in flip flops with bare feet and his toes out, which raises serious hygiene concerns for a place that handles food and drinks. Overall, the poor management, lack of professionalism, and unsanitary practices make this location feel unsafe and unprofessional, and honestly, it doesn't seem like it will last if things continue like this. Finally, a place in town serving real fruit juice! I tried the Buzz and my daughter ordered the Pink Flamingo, both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. It's exciting to have a healthier option like this close by. I agree with other reviewers that this location is strictly takeout with no chairs or restroom, so it's not a sit-down spot even though the website suggests otherwise. Hopefully that gets updated soon. The staff is still new and learning, but they were friendly and working hard to get orders right. Since it's literally their opening week, I think it's worth cutting them some slack while they settle in. Every new business has challenges in the beginning, and instead of just pointing out flaws, I'd love to see us as a community offer constructive suggestions that help them improve.
