The food here was not bad. Three stars because some of the dishes we ordered were really oily. Service was good and there is ample free parking. We started with the Tea Leaf Salad, a staple of Burmese restaurants. Their tea leaf salad was not bad. It had all of the standard ingredients, but was a little oily. Although it's not available here, we actually prefer our Tea Leaf Salad with dried shrimp, as it adds to the umami flavor. If you've never had Tea Leaf Salad, this is a good dish to try here. Next, we had the Mango Salad. We were a little bit apprehensive when it arrived because it looked like it would taste just like the Tea Leaf Salad. Fortunately, it has a very different taste. The pickled mango was really good. This salad also includes fried onions and fried garlic, but just enough to flavor the dish with something crispy without making it greasy. Unlike the Tea Leaf Salad, this salad was not oily at all, making it a healthier option. We would definitely order this one again. Our next dish was the Garlic Shrimp with Eggplant. As noted in other reviews, the Garlic Eggplant is a really popular dish. For another $5, you can order it as a shrimp dish. The taste of this dish was good, but it was really greasy. The eggplant was just sopping with oil. This is a good dish for people who don't mind the oil. But for people who do, it's not a good choice. We also tried the Salmon Lemongrass Fusion. The description sounded really good. The flavor of this dish was also good, but it didn't pair well with the Garlic Shrimp with Eggplant. Both have a brown sauce that taste kind of the same. We probably should have ordered the Dry Curry Chicken instead, which has a different base. The salmon was a little dry. It really needed the sauce for hydration. This sauce seemed to have a lot of oil in it, too. We checked their website before going. When we signed up for their text messaging, we received a 20% discount coupon, which we used for this dinner. Overall, the price after discount was reasonable. Many of the dishes appeared to be wok fried. Not sure if we'll be back due to the oiliness of the dishes we tried today.

If you're looking for some decent Southeast Asian food, this is definitely one of your go-to spots in the Warm Springs area (if you live in south Fremont, very close, or if you live in Milpitas!) -- thank you to the MANY Yelp friends that put me on this place, because I do not regret deciding to go to this place. This restaurant can be packed at times due to its limited seating, so my best suggestion would be to plan accordingly WHEN you want to go for lunch or dinner. However, everything else is impeccable -- from the hospitality, to the food, to the environment. Here's how my experience went:There was a little bit of a wait when I went with my family -- maybe at tops 15 minutes? That wait was worth it though -- so there's that. However, as soon as we got seated -- they introduced us to some of the special dishes that they had. The waitresses answered our questions with lots of professionalism, which we honestly felt welcomed. We got the Aw No Khao Swye, and two more dishes. They were really saucy, and very rich in flavor -- not too saucy and overbearing in flavor. We got their salad and also their chicken over coconut sauce, most of which were absolutely delicate and yummy things. I really appreciated the fact that a lot of work was put into making these dishes taste really good. Their tea was also top tier too! I would definitely come back to try more of their dishes :)

Came here for lunch with a friend per her recommendation. Was pleasantly surprised with the food. This isn't the traditional take of Burmese food as I thought. They really tweaked to the local western taste here and the dishes that we ordered were delicious especially the tea salad. It reminded me of another chinese cuisine (Hakka version of tea salad/rice). That said this dish is refreshingly tasty, zesty and fragrant (from the fried peas and garlic and their own special house concoction of the tea mixed dressing). Highly recommended to try this. (Note: The dish typically is served to table with all mixed in. However in our case we asked not to pre-mix the various ingredients when serve to us. Thus you can see from my photo here, the beautiful plating and dish presentation. We also ordered the garlic noodles that came with a side sauce you are supposed to mix in to enhance the flavor even more. The noodle itself was already tasty on its own though. Also ordered their garlic eggplant which again was very tasty and silky. The only nitpick was the dishes were a little too oily and I felt bloated after the meal. So next time I come, I will ask to reduce the oil... Ambiance: Nice spacious interior seatings and ample parking. Only complaint is it can get a little too noisy on weekends. So a good place to enjoy meal but not a good place for deep conversation.

Food was delicious , while on the road we stopped here and were surprised with a wonderful meal, the food we tasted is making us wanna go back for more, I wish we'd still in the East Bay ! Great attentive service Ambiance is very simple, good tables and tasteful decor, very well lit We loved the Coconut Chicken Noodle soup , basil chili beef and garlic noodles Not dog friendly since there is no outdoor dining, plenty of parking right outside the restaurant.

Service and ambience are great! Third time to come here with my husband on Father's Day. Tea salad is great again as well as Pumpkin chicken curry and coconut rice. I tried Salt and Pepper calamari- will not recommend this dish

Had the pleasure of trying this place with a close friend on a Saturday for lunch around 3:00 pm. It's a well known restaurant in Fremont for its Burmese food, which you can also find in San Jose and Sunnyvale for other Burmese restaurants. It's an imitate, classy dining experience with fine dining aspects. Lots of open tables when we walked in, after/before the lunch rush, and they also have a bar for alcoholic drinks. We were sat immediately at a booth. They also serve cucumber water, so healthy and refreshing. We ordered a tea leaf salad, deep fried lotus roots, and Nan Gyi Doks. The deep fried lotus has a great golden brown color, and the server gave us a tip to wait a bit so it would get even crunchier. It was crunchy and not too dry. They paired it with a garlic aioli, and it added a great savory flavor. The tea leaf salad has a complex earthy taste from the nuts, dressing, and veggies. Very filling despite being light and easily shareable. The Nan Gyi Dok had a beautiful presentation of golden and brown colors. The sliced egg added a pop of white color that really stood out as additional protein. It was savory, great sauce, and good chunks of meat inside the noodles. I only ate half as it was very filling! I definitely recommend this place if you want to try Burmese food!

Went here for lunch after a hike with family. Always love a good tea leaf salad and this place offers one to satiate that desire. The place looks regular from outside but its pretty nice and neat inside. The host & servers are also welcoming and the service was fast. Not too crowded for a Sunday lunch. There are ample veggie options and they can also take request to adjust for vegetarians. If you like a little spicier, go for their medium spice, as the mild versions were a little bland.

went on a Saturday for late lunch, place was mostly empty by then samosas - 6/10 nothing too special? felt a lil dry mango salad - 7/10 okay maybe I've never had mango salad before but this was more salad than mango - also note that it's green mango so if you're expecting the yellow sweet kind then nah ; not bad tho, just felt like alt salad to me lamb curry - 8/10 pretty good, didn't have the gamey lamb taste so that was nice ohn-no khao swe - 9/10 don't even know what this was but it was great - had noodles in a soup w chicken service seemed fine as-is; server was chill & talked to us like we were homies which was kinda funny?

I've been to Burma Bay Cafe a few times, and it's been consistently good. Their salads are a standout and pair well with many of the dishes on the menu. Portions are generous, and everything comes out quickly, which is always a plus. The servers are super nice and attentive, making the dining experience very welcoming. The restaurant is also spacious, so it's a great fit for big parties or group gatherings. A solid spot if you're craving flavorful Burmese food with fast service and a comfortable setting.

    Salt & Pepper Calamari ($12.95)
    Rachel L.

Pretty solid flavors and dishes! We had the salt & pepper calamari, burmese style chicken curry, burmese garlic noodles, and lamb kebat. The calamari was super crispy on the outside with big chunks of squid. The chicken curry was flavorful but a bit in the salty side, and I wish there was more sauce. The chicken portion is generous though! The garlic noodles were fragrant but on the sweeter side. I liked the addition of cucumbers for a nice refreshing crunch. Lastly, the lamb kebat was a really earthy dish and slightly gamey. Interesting dish! Workers were very nice and food comes out so fast! The place itself is super spacious. Overall, pretty good spot!

I've never had Burmese food before and when my friend suggested it for her birthday, I couldn't say no and I'm glad we were able to try it out. We can when they opened at 11AM and were seated right away. The space is bright inside, clean, with many tables and booths. Here's what we ordered for the 4 of us to share: Burmese Rainbow Salad $14.95 (4/5) Comes with thin egg noodles, vermicelli noodles, jasmine rice, and lots of cut up veggies (cucumber, potatoes, papaya, onions) and it came warm. So when you think of salad you think cold... but this was an interesting combo i think because of the noodles and rice had to be heated up. Moh Hin Ga (pureed catfish chowder) $14.95 (3/5) This also was really interesting. It was thick soup and had small pieces of pureed catfish floating around. Lots of flavor going on. I think after having the salad and the same type of noodles going on. This was just ok. Lettuce wrap with tofu $12.95 (4/5) We got the sauce on the side and good thing we did because the tofu was really well seasoned. Went well with the lettuce wraps. Dry Curry Chicken $17.95 (4/5) When you see dry, you think why would they serve dry anything. Nobody likes dry foods. But this was good. The curry coconut sauce is just reduced down with the chicken and string bean, bell pepper, and okra. I would get this again. Honey & Lemon Beef $18.95 (5/5) Thin strips of meat, crunchy beef sweetened mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, condensed milk, lemon, and honey. This was tasty. For dessert they gave us mango ice cream and with a candle sparkler! Service was great! Burmese food I think is similar to Thai dishes and I think I would definitely come back to try more!

It was not crowded at all and Interior is clean, nothing Picturesque. Tea salad was very good. Ohn no khao swe noodle soup was decent. Burmese garlic noodle we asked for spicy one, we got them spicy. Good service as not much crowd was there, won't mind going again. Biggest problems was not the food but the rather their bowls, particularly for a soup it was very narrow bowl for a noodle soup, it was hard to mix or move the food around, next the bowels given to eat for the soup were very small, that too for a noodle soup made the whole experience poor, if it wads not for that I would have added another star.

It was the only place open in the area with not-bad food at 3pm on Black Friday, so here we came. We were pleasantly surprised! Liked everything we ordered: lotus root crisps, tea leaves salad, a onion-y tomato-y cumin-y beef dish, garlic noodles, sticky rice dessert. My only slight complaint would be that the garlic noodles were too heavy on the sauce; I couldn't finish the last 1/3 bottom of it. The tea beer was also a nice find. It's from an Alameda brewery and doesn't seem to be sold anywhere (not even on the brewery's website). I regret not bringing a few cans home. Yes - it's that good and it's worth the restaurant alcohol premium!

I came here on a Friday evening with my friend to grab dinner around 6:00 PM. The wait was around an hour, so be very prepared if you're coming during the dinner rush. This spot is located where the majority of the Asian restaurants are in Milpitas, so it's safe to say the parking can get a bit hectic and intense. The interior of the place is very bright, modern, and clean. There is a lot of seating for a small space, but the reason they are so busy has a lot to do with the number of people wanting to check this spot out. When you sit down, you scan their virtual menu via QR code and order there instead of through a server. You have the choice to order on one phone as a group or separately. This might have been my best bite this month. It was so savory, the mushrooms hit perfectly, and the coating of butter on the rice was supreme. It was $28 for a bowl, but it was a good value to split between two people. Overall, this place had great, fast service (our food came out in under 10 minutes), a nice ambiance, and fresh, flavorful food.
