I was recommended the Acai Peanut Butter. I was undecided between Acai Peanut Butter and the PB&J. Even though the staff was very busy, they were able to be polite and professional when taking orders. They got my bowl out in just a few minutes. They had a lot of phone/online orders since they never stopped making bowls in between customers. I was expecting it to be more peanut butter flavor, but it was a light refreshing fruit mix with apple and strawberry. Overall a good one to go with! Plenty of seats inside and good music. read more

Came here for a quick juice on the go in the summer heat and this place hit the spot. It is a little pricey compared to other juice bars but definitely worth a try. Service has always been bad. I try making a pic up order to avoid service and they still have an attitude and you end up standing there for 5-10 mins waiting for them to even give you your pick up order that's sitting in the fridge... love the açaí bowls but I despise coming here read more

I'm a regular customer here.. I love the smoothies and bowls, however I notice that 9 times out of 10 they don't have the open sign on and any time I mention it, they just say "oh we sometimes forget to turn it on" but they don't turn it on. As a business owner, I know how much that can affect the business and it sucks that the employees neglect this part of operating the store. The manager has given me dirty looks when I mention it because they are obviously doing this on purpose.. read more

If your completely miserable why even work here? I thought maybe just an off day, I've been back three times now and no improvement. I've never had such terrible customer service (Alyssa) doesn't greet you when you enter, never smiles, no sincere goodbye. When she drops your drink she hopes you know it yours and if you don't come she'll quietly mutter it under her breath while she's making another smoothie. Multitasking/ staying efficient I totally get but a little smile could go a long way. I love the smoothies here hopefully I don't get spit in my next one. But Alyssa needs to be talked to... she brings down the whole vibe inside, really sad actually. read more

I've been hooked an this place for years. I love their steel cut oats with almond butter and bananas for breakfast and of course I must order my favorite drink the Green Apple Detox with extra ginger. When I worked closer I went more often and spent a lot of money going like every other day. A healthy breakfast is really worth it but I started making my own oats at home with all the goodies they use. I'm surprised I only have 50 check ins here. I must have forgot 100 times. I am a total lover of juice bars and my personal favorite, acai bowls. In the constant growth of health food trends, you start to see more and more franchises appearing that showcase what they have to offer. Nekter Juice bar is one of those that appeared in Modesto, CA over the recent years. I first tried Nekter when I lived in Utah. It was nice to see them bringing their diverse menu all the way here to the Central Valley! During these hot times (or honestly any time), some fresh drinks or a nice acai bowl really brightens the day. I have come here many times now and am always satisfied with the product. I've tried the acai banana berry bowl, dragonfruit bowl, and acai mango bowl and thoroughly enjoyed everything! They all come beautifully topped with a variety of customizable toppings that can give your bowl a unique flavor or twist if changed to your liking. One tip I recommend is to download the app to collect points and redeem for promotions. You can also order ahead of time and walk up to grab your order when you get there! Super convenient and transactionless. Another tip that I am not sure a lot of people know about, but Safeway gives $2 off coupons for Nekter Juice Bar on the back of their receipts. Saving money is always nice so make sure to save your receipts from there! read more

Came in and ordered açaí bowls. Was waiting for 20 min and the girl who took our order asked us were we waiting for something. And I told her yes our order and they never even started our order and she wanted to blame it on the machine as if she wasn't the one to take our order. We didn't get our açaí bowls until 30min after we originally ordered as well as another couple that ordered right after us. This was our first time coming here and makes me never want to come again. read more

This is my favorite place for juices and bowls! The only issue I consistently face when visiting is the front carpet at the entrance. Whenever I try to open the door, it gets caught on the carpet, making it difficult to open even slightly. Unfortunately, the employees usually just watch me struggle. I had purchased some juices for my friends and mentioned this issue to them, and they all go to the same location and shared the same experience! It would be great if someone could either remove the carpet or reposition it so it doesn't interfere with the door. Other than that it's my favorite place to go! Very nice and clean inside. I did a pick up order through their app, my order was ready on time and refrigerated until my arrival. I ordered a turmeric shot & a slender greens with whey protein added. My drink tasted fresh, but i do wish it was a bit sweeter (possibly a personal choice), next time I'll be adding the frozen strawberries to it, or using OJ instead of the coconut water. Food is great, ambiance is good, service was horrible. Its 10/19/23 6:08pm and whomever the two girls that are working tonight were pretty rude. Had somewhat of an attitude and never made eye contact with me, especially after I asked for a recommendation for a smoothie since I've only been sticking with the bowls. I wanted to change it up so I was trying to make a good decision and try their other options. Not sure if it's just their personality or if they've had a rough day but I could tell they didn't want to be there. Days prior I've been making it a habit to come after my workouts in the morning and the morning shift is always super nice! Today I came after my afternoon run and the staff was horrid. Makes me NOT want to come at this time. Management, please change this because if they are doing it to me they could be doing it to others. Decent spot but pricey for me. It has a lot of similar items as Jamba Juice which made me feel silly about spending so much money here opposed to just hitting the Jamba drive thru. More options in terms of acai bowls and those types of things but the smoothies I've had here didn't really leap out at me . Pressed juice was okay. They sent it over with a cup with ice which I appreciated . The service here has been decent . Again. Nothing wrong with the place but nothing necessarily right about it either . read more

Uhhh. I just came from there where I ordered the same exact thing as the person in front of me (the Health Nut) EXCEPT I ordered an extra scoop of protein. I watched the employee make it. She made both of ours from the same blender and certainly did not put in another scoop of protein. What's worse is that there was half a blender left of the same protein smoothie. How can grams of protein, let alone calories, be determined with that practice? I work out next store and a few of us go in after a workout. I will no longer be a customer. I will share my experience with anybody at the gym who asks. I would have said something right there and then but I was chatting with a friend. VERY disappointed. read more

My friend recommended this place. I signed up on mobile and got a free smoothie. I ordered the mango delight and added strawberries and chia seeds. They look like they have good juices and juices to go. I would definitely come back to try more of the juices or shots. I ordered ahead on the app. My drink was made quickly. This place is certainly doing things right. It's a bit on the pricy side but does impress. I even told my son that the smoothies were so much better than the competing establishments. The service was great. I ordered the Acai Banana Berry Bowl and added peanut butter and chocolate drizzle. I love acai bowls and was very excited to try this one. Toppings are easy to nail down, but the actual base is what makes it! I look for consistency and flavor. Nekter's acai bowl was more runny and had spurts of strawberry flavor to it, but for the most part it was pretty bland. I think adding the peanut butter and chocolate drizzle helped. Would I order it again? Yes, after a workout, but I won't drive out of my way for it. read more

I went with a protein smoothie, nothing fancy, just something to refuel with. It was good, not great. $9.50 for one smoothie felt a little steep, especially considering the portion size. I get it, fresh ingredients, protein, etc, but for that price, I expected a bit more WOW factor in flavor, size, presentation, etc... However, the staff was polite and engaging. Just a quick in-and-out experience, nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. All in all, Rio Açaí Bowls is a decent local option if you're craving something healthy-ish and cold.

It was made fresh so it took about 10 minutes for my order, but it was worth the wait for fresh ingredients and filled to the top of the bowl. At first I thought the small was too small, but it was very filling and I probably couldn't finish a larger size. I definitely recommend Rio Acai for a fresh, healthy treat!
