While we were waiting for our bowl & smoothie, all three employees started covering their mouth and nose laughing saying it smells like fart. Was visiting home (Modesto) for a few summer weeks and had to try the newest health joint on the block. Everyone had been raving about the new juice bar! A friend and I went in and it was very yummy. The staff were willing to explain what different items were and the options that we had in regard to customizing our bowls/drinks. I of course got the Peanut Butter Bowl- yummmmmm! They close an hour early or turn off the lights before the closing time, And if you get there close to closing time they turn you away and say " we washed everything already...... I ordered the toxin flush and the turmeric shot, this was my first time to Nekter. Right away I didn't get greeted and the vibe felt unwelcoming. The cashier didn't seem to know much about their menu and was very cold and silent. No personality and gave me a look as if I wasn't invited. I got my drinks and left, the drinks are very yummy and wanted to come back just didn't like the staff. I came in again a week later hoping the atmosphere would be a little bit more friendly boy was I wrong I walked in again did not get greeted at all I ordered the Matcha smoothie and had some questions , different cashier but again no personality and air for brains when it came to the menu. I asked for a turmeric shot again and she kept saying the ginger shot. When I got my order there was Cayenne pepper on my turmeric shot rather than regular pepper which I was told the regular pepper activates the turmeric shot when I asked if the cayenne pepper does something as well the other worker wouldn't even make eye contact and she just said yeah yeah the girl who made it so I'm sorry I thought you said the ginger shot I said no I had said the turmeric shot it's OK it's fine, I took it & my mouth was on fire that's not what I wanted. SMH the whole experience wasn't a good one. I got looks as if I was a nuisance by the staff I really don't feel like I would be coming back to this place they definitely need to hire better staff. What has happened to customer service these days. Seems like no one is educated on the menu so I didn't know if there was a manager or owner there to talk to since no one seemed to know anything about the drinks that they have. I did not feel comfortable both times coming in and they were to say the least RUDE. My mom has been raving about the açaí bowls from here and she was coming over today so I decided to surprise her with some! I'll start with my first impression. My wife and I are on the thicker side and as soon as we walked in the cashier looked at us, gave a hesitant smile and asked " just looking?" I assured her we were there to order. ( not sure what that was about I may be reading into it but it definitely was inviting) we ordered three bowls and an elixer We ordered a dragonfruit elixer- very refreshing! Definitely had a nectar quality to it as it was a thicker than just a juice. A peanut butter açaí bowl sub pineapple for bananas - was made incorrectly it had neither pineapple nor bananas. Still very tasty with the home made peanut butter but my mom was sad her Oder was wrong A mango bowl - they subbed the mango for pineapple on accident so I had absolutely no mango in my bowl . They didn't bother to fix it. Still very tasty and refreshing . LOVED the granola and coconut A banana berry bowl was pretty epic and it was the only bowl that was correct. When ordering we verified which bowl was supposed to ha be the pineapple. We were even asked if we wanted to replace the bananas in the mix or just the topping. maybe we asked for something unusual and maybe the cashier just didn't recognize us as regulars but my wife and I both felt instantly judged. But I'll let it go and chock it up to us not being regulars yet. These small issues are easily overlooked when enjoying your bowl. The bowls are pricey (but fair for being an açaí bowl) our tag ended up being $31. If you're willing to pay for quality you NEED to try Nekter. They just need to work on the greetings. The read the reviews before going and it's true the staff isn't the friendliest when asking for recommendations or ordering in general. I did feel when asking they seemed annoyed so I just picked from the top of the list. the drink was delicious. I did go back a second time after doing some research and ordered a different drink and the consistency was great. As long as you know what you want and aren't looking for small talk or help from the staff the drinks are worth it. read more

I am a huge Nekter fan & I spend a lot of time in Modesto, so I was really happy when I seen Modesto finally had a Nekter. This review is based on it being a newly opened store, because there was still training that was needed as far as making sure juicer gets cleaned in between drinks that way my ginger shot does not taste like celery (as it did), but the general manager was AMAZING she right away offered to fix it and coached the team very well in the moment. I have gave 5 stars because everyone made great effort and the store was clean and had great customer. There was some traffic and everyone was really quick, efficient and friendly. I am sure as everyone has more experience and gets more training this store will do great! read more
