We went here for smoothies and ice cream. They had about a dozen ice cream and sorbet flavors to pick from. The prices were expensive. We paid almost $9 for a 24 oz smoothie and it wasn't anything special and tasted like it was made with a bunch of sugary syrup. The atmosphere seemed good and was clean. Two girls working were gossiping and complaining about others- but took our order in between comments. Overall- I think I'll pass.

This review is specifically for the Mango Crazy Truck at Modesto Grub Hubs. We enjoyed a delicious mangonada from here and the girl working was very chill. I think she was the only one there because she took our order and closed the window and it took a bit for our order to come out. We were waiting on food from another truck anyway so it wasn't an issue. The sorbet was yummy and the price was good. We will be back.

Ceviche Boats - Cucumber filled with goodness and spice (Keto friendly)

Oh boy, my bf and I were craving some ceviche type of food and decided to try this place out 30 minutes before closing. Located in a nice spacious shopping complex, with plenty of parking spots, and a variety of different things in close proximity to Mango Crazy. We're from LA and we love eating fruit with lemon and tajin especially at our local park back home so going through the reviews and amazing photos taken from previous customers we had to try! It's honestly a little place, not much room to fit many people, but if I recall they had an area outside to sit (it was night time and pretty dark when I went, lol). The line was long but the wait was honestly fairly short and the employees are on top of their game. I ordered the shrimp ceviche cucumber boats, not much shrimp on them but the flavor was great, I really loved the freshness of them, and especially all the color! I tried out an agua fresca drink but I honestly can't remember the exact name of it but I know that it was green and pretty tasty, not too sweet nor bland! My bf ordered the tostilokos with salsa verde Tostitos, I'm not a fan of pork skin but he loved them! Next time, I think I'll try out the 'pina del mar' or the 'Diablito' since literally, everyone in front of us was ordering that. We will def be back when we go shopping at Raley's! Thanks again for your service and tasty food!

    mangonada $5.99
    Thien H.

The mangonada $5.99 was delicious. Sweet, salty, tart. Great place to beat the summer heat. They weren't very busy after a weeknight dinner, so we just stuck around and chatted while eating our treats. I like that the place is locally owned. The interior paint could be a little bit more soothing, but I guess they're going for "fun/crazy."

The new Pineapple Açaí bowl was delicious! We got the Berry Banana and it didn't disappoint. It's been hard finding açaí bowls in Modesto so if anyone is looking for a good açaí bowl, you need to come here.

We stopped in just before 6:00 and we're greeted by a friendly woman getting the restaurant ready for opening. We later came to find out she was an owner. She was so sweet and offered to seat us before the servers actually showed up, as they had worked a local event that day. The waitress soon came and our wonderful experience began. They have a great wine list and wine cocktails. We ordered three dishes and were pleased with the presentation and flavors. Pica-Pau - a traditional Portuguese dish with beef and spices in a delicious broth. It's served with bread for soaking up the broth. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the broth. Crostini di Mare - shrimp on crostini's with a tangy garlicky sauce on top. This was my favorite and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Sea Legs - octopus over a sweet potato mash. This was tasty as well and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash is divine!! We also had a Caprese salad, pretty average, but nice presentation. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and so nice to people watch on the main drag. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go back next time we visit. The service is excellent, portions in line with tapas and atmosphere is great.

I enjoyed my wine and if you're a sweet tooth, dessert wine is the way to go! We ordered the Spicy Moroccan Lamb Meatballs with some cornbread and really enjoyed it! I do think the dishes are slightly on the pricier side, but the quality and finesse of the dishes makes them definitely worth it. Our meatballs were so soft and tasty. And we couldn't help but finish all the leftover sauce it came with by dipping our bread in it! I enjoy the vibe of the inside. I love all the blue dim lighting and there's even a small stage for folks to perform on busier nights. The patio is in a prime spot if you wanna enjoy the sidewalk vibes, especially on a Friday/Saturday night or on Thursday's if downtown is hosting a street fair! Def coming back!

We were there at 5:45pm on a Saturday and only a couple tables were taken up so we got a spot no problem. Savory girls, this one's for you! My friends both enjoyed their tamarind tequila cocktail and the non-alcoholic blackberry sage smash. We ordered the whipped feta which came topped with wine-soaked pluots, aleppo pepper, and fermented honey. This was absolutely to die for when scooped up with the fluffy, warm pita on the side. Yelp Elite Review: A Taste of Home…read more I'm Puerto Rican and Italian, and I grew up with a Puerto Rican grandmother who owned three Puerto Rican restaurants called the Latin Barn back in the day. So when I tell you I know and LOVE Puerto Rican food, I'm not just talking--I've got childhood credentials! I came here with my oldest son and his wife for her birthday, and then something unexpected happened: I started crying. The flavors, aromas, and atmosphere brought a flood of childhood memories rushing back. Food can do that--and this place absolutely nailed it. I ordered the Puerto Rican Special with shredded pork, arroz con gandules, sweet plantains, and beans. AWESOME! I also tried the empanadas with both chicken and beef, and they were incredible. And portions? Let's just say they apparently believed we were feeding the entire extended family. We were given so much food that I had leftovers for the next day--which meant I got to have an encore performance! The Caribbean atmosphere combined with Ashland's unique vibe creates a warm, welcoming place where people actually seem to enjoy being there. The staff was friendly, helpful, and loved to laugh--which is definitely a Puerto Rican thing to do...right after making sure you have nice shoes. The dessert selection was fantastic, too. From the beef stew to the pork, the rice, the plantains, and everything in between, you are going to fall in love with this food. This is officially my new favorite place. And in the immortal words of General MacArthur: "I SHALL RETURN!" Do yourself a favor and put this place on your must-visit list. Come hungry, bring your appetite, and prepare to leave saying, "I'm Puerto Rican!" We had a large party and I think the service could have possibly been more attentive, but that's always a hit or miss for a large group. Our waiter was super kind and despite so many of us getting there at different times the spacing between entrees was excellent. I had a pina colada coquito fusion cocktail and it was delicious. My friend tried their take on the espresso martini and it was also balanced really nicely. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and it had a good selection! Honorable mention is the patio. I didn't even know they had a patio?? Such colorful outdoor decor paired with plants made me feel like I could spend hours with my friends here. I'd easily see myself going there alone for lunch someday just to relax outside, especially during the summer. Very decent amount of shade as well. Everyone really enjoyed their food and I got the paella again. This time it wasn't mushy rice and packed full of seafood, however the dish holding the food was very shallow and not an enormous portion. I'd think the portion would maybe be split between three people easily? But any large groups would need additional orders. The empanadas were tasty as well and I'm excited to try the different options next time I come. Worth checking out and an amazing food spot for summertime to enjoy outside. Also tip for parking - it isn't too bad if you just go a block further down Broadway heading east. You'll find street spots easily!
