It was Father's Day, and Nekter provided its members a reward for a BOGO 16 oz smoothie, good for that day only. There is a location in the greater San Antonio area, but I actually decided to use this Nekter location as a reason to just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, IYKYK. So this Nekter isn't actually within San Antonio city limits per Google Maps. Rather, it's located in Timberwood Park, which is still within Bexar County, but rather a more secluded part of town. It's not really its own city, so its address will still say San Antonio, but definitely don't think greater San Antonio. You can get there by going west on Borgfield from the 281. If you find Bullis County Park, which is where Old Blanco meets Blanco (old meets new? lol), Nekter will be just on the other side of Borgfield. It's in a pretty small and unassuming plaza that also houses Wild West Burgers, Borgfield Animal Hospital, and Workspeis, the last of which is right above Nekter. That's it. The parking lot is pretty small, as you can imagine for a plaza of this size, but I didn't have any problems finding an open spot that day. I came in and saw the interior, which had a few tables off to the left side as well as the grab & go on the right side. There were two girls in the back of the shop, and one of them came out to greet me. I told her I wanted to use the Father's Day BOGO reward, which would only work for a 16 oz smoothie. I asked her what size that would be, and she pointed to the smallest cup at the register. However, the largest cup is twice is the size of the smallest cup, so she offered to make my BOGO smoothie in the 32 oz cup if I chose the same flavor. I'm the type of customer that likes to get the best of two different worlds. However, I was planning to stop by Bullis County Park, and I didn't want to be holding two drinks in my hands while walking around the park. Therefore, I was willing to choose just one flavor. But which one? I couldn't remember which smoothies I've tried at my usual Nekter in California, but the cashier provided some suggestions, including one off the menu. She pointed towards a sign just outside the front door, which advertised the Strawberry Aloha smoothie, presumably a seasonal special. It consists of strawberries, pineapples, mangos, and pitaya with an orange juice base. It's most similar to a Mango Delight, so she rang me up for the Mango Delight, but told her co-worker to add the strawberries and dragonfruit so as to make it a Strawberry Aloha. That cashier was real patient with me because as I was going to pay, I didn't see my credit card in my wallet! I almost thought I had lost it! I told the cashier, who told me not to worry and take my time, even though the reward was going to expire soon since I had selected "Redeem in-store" in the app. I ran back to my car, found my credit card, and headed back inside to finish the payment. Luckily, since I was the only customer in the vicinity, she didn't need to restart the order; at any other Nekter with customers inside, that almost certainly would have been a different story. Since it was over 100 degrees outside that day, I was sweating like crazy, and I simply asked for a napkin just to wipe the sweat off my face. Then, she offered me a cup of ice water to cool down even more. Totally not needed since it was enough of a blessing just to be indoors, not to mention it took no more than 2 minutes for them to finish my smoothie, but much appreciated! :) The smoothie was great BTW! It did a great job of cooling me down while I was exploring the park, and it tasted great too! I especially liked the small bits that had a soft crunch; I'm guessing they were the dragonfruit seeds, but they were a nice touch regardless. I wasn't at the park long, but I definitely would have been sweltering even more had I not visited Nekter beforehand! Wild West Burgers is closed on Sundays, so that day, Netker was literally the only food option within a two-mile radius; otherwise, it would have been a food desert in that area. However, it's a great option if you're looking for something healthy and something good. I don't think they opened that long ago, so this should be a welcome addition to the Timberwood Park neighborhood. I hope this Nekter will be a great spot for residents in that part of town to just chillax after a tough day at work or even school for that matter. The elementary school is just on the other side of Sherwood Forest Dr, so treating the kiddos to a nice smoothie would make for a great after school snack! Highly recommend! :) read more

I am SO HAPPY there is a Nekter location near me!! We loved the location it's small but super clean. The immunity bowl it's my favorite. I've tried other açaí bowls but I keep coming back to this one. My husband loves the Acai Peanut Butter Bowl it's good as well. If you want a drink during the summer I highly recommend the watermelon smoothie/juice. Honestly anything from Nekter is delicious. Give this place a try you won't regret it! read more

@ Haileigh R. I am so taken back by your review, it sounds a bit personal. I travel for work alot so I am in San Antonio pretty often. I found this particulary Nekter just delightful. I go there everytime I am in town. The service is outstanding and I found the GM to be friendly and very helpful. The first time I went, i had never been to a Nekter before and he explained everything to me.. And believe me I do ask alot of questions and he was very patient, and I also found him to smell quite nice. So seriously for you to make an assumption that he was disrespectful, for the 5 min you stood there he would of had to run around yelling and everyone nonstop, that does NOT sound like the person i have met many times. And may I also add they have one of the cleanest bathrooms i have ever seen! Also, I would like people to really think about what they write on these reviews. As someone who works for a small business vendictive reviews that really sound quite personal really hurt people trying to make it in this crazy world. Please everyone try to keep your negitive reviews to the product and not a personal attack on employes or owners. Everyone has a bad day, makes a bad meal or just makes a mistake that is why pencils have erasers! The four star review is for the tasty smoothie and exceptional service. The girl at the register was so sweet and she has eyes as blue as a deep Caribbean pool. However, $30 for two "regular" smoothies is, um, a tad much. Look, I know rent is high. I know staff wages are a large part of doing business. But, damn. Unless they release a BOGO coupon, this will be our last visit. I simply cannot justify a $12 medium non-alcoholic beverage. C'mon. There's got to be a way to make this affordable. I want to come back. Help me help you. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I've been to countless smoothie and juice bars in San Antonio and never have I ever been so disgusted. The GM is super disrespectful and has a very bad attitude. Treats his costumers and employees with zero respect. My husband got a juice the other day and it tasted like it couldve came right out of the dumpster. Avoid this location at all costs for your own sake. The only people I actually feel bad for are those poor employees working under him and his onion smell. read more
