WARNING IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES.... DO NOT GO TO NEKTER IN SOUTHLAKE ! On Friday my son went to Nekter and ordered a bowl with substitutions for his food allergy. They took his order and said they would accommodate his substitutions and it was even printed on the receipt. However, the staff did not follow the instructions and put peanut butter instead of almond butter in his bowl. He was very ill after this mistake! After complaining to the manager and asking for the owners contact, he returned my call but didn't ask how my son was feeling or even offer an apology for the mistake on the order. He was in fact very rude and interrupted me to state "our staff is not responsible for any food allergies of any kind and all customers are responsible for policing their own allergies." We have eaten there many times without incident. But this time they were careless and reckless with the substitutions. I know they cannot guarantee food allergy concerns, but they should at least train the staff to follow the instructions on your order if they are going to allow for the allergy substitutions. The prices were pretty decent for an acai bowl but the smoothie prices were expensive. Joanna and I got the mango acai bowl. It didn't taste like mango at all and the mangoes weren't ripe. I actually think this place is great. Only 3 stars because most of the green juices are still pretty high in carbs/sugar due to apple juice being the first ingredient. And the snack stuff is fairly limited to mostly nut and peanut based. I spent $70 for açaí mango bowls and was very disappointed once I gave them to my coworkers who never had your bowls. Usually the bowls are displayed with beautifully arranged bananas, strawberries, etc but that was not the case with this order. It was a gob of coconut flakes on top and yes fruit was mixed into the bowl but the bowl should also have fruit toppings. I will think twice about using the app again. If I have the time to walk into the store, place my order in person then wait to ensure the bowls are accurately made. Came here after I saw a friend with a smoothie from here. I've passed by the shop many times so decided to try it to see what the hype was about. The place is clean and very contempo. Parking was kind of crowded be careful pulling in and out of tight spots. I ordered the Pb bowl. I love peanut butter and also the girl at the front also said it was the best. It was good. But won't lie, I was expecting more of a peanut butter taste. The flavor was light. But refreshing because of the acai blend. It was topped with a banana and some crunchy peanut butter flakes.:-) It was good and if I'm looking for a healthy snack I'll return. I'll have to try some of their juices/smoothies next time. Nekter is my favorite smoothie place. This was my first time visiting this location. I ordered an Açaí banana berry bowl. It was FULL of shredded pieces of plastic! I tried several bites but they were throughout the entire bowl. I took it back in with the evidence of plastic pieces and the cashier offered to make me a new one. She said their fruit is packaged in plastic so maybe plastic got in the blender. Ok - no problem. I've had the same smoothie bowl at so many other locations with no issues. I'm sad to say my replacement berry bowl ALSO had plastic pieces in it. I did not take it in because honestly I don't want another one from this location. Acai, bananas, strawberries, raw vanilla cashew milk, hemp seeds, granola and pb. All dairy free and they also have gluten free granola. What a treat! It seems that my order is always wrong. This time around, I paid extra to have chia pudding added to my bowl. When I picked up my order I saw a container in the bag, as I was walking out, I turned around and asked what was in the container. I was told it was chia pudding. He went on to explain that they forgot to add it and there wasn't room so they just gave me a small container. First, I guess they were not going to say anything about the mistake. Second, I actually want it inside the bowl like I ordered and if there was no room for them to add it, there is no room for me to add it. I was most bothered by the fact that they didn't seem to care and made me feel like I was in the wrong for even saying anything. I am giving an extra star because the food is really good here. I believe this is one of the newer Nekter locations in the DFW area, and it is just as friendly and welcoming as the location in University Park. My boyfriend always gets the Toxin Flush and I get the Sublime. I love Nekter juice with ice, and the employees make it perfect each time. Staff was very kind and there was nearly no wait time for the employees to start on our juices. I also liked how they started implementing a rewards punch card, so we were enthusiastic to grab one and get our two hole punches before leaving. The location was also very clean and well-maintained. It reminded me a lot of the locations in California. Very open and plenty of seating for guests. I have yet to try their smoothies, but the Orange Crush and Pink Flamingo seem to be popular choices. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost of the acaí bowls. Only $7-$8, which is about what it costs me when I venture out for frozen yogurt, but significantly healthier!
