I don't know how to put my experience in words. I'm an animal lover like many and had no idea a friend of mine purchased a hen from here a week ago then to just have it die. She asked me to come with her today to bring it back and speak with the owner about the hen dying immediately after purchasing it . Arriving there I could not believe what I was seeing. Was this a junk yard? They were just opening we were there while they were opening the gates. No water in many of the cages and they were also extremely dirty . Dead animals in plain sight , in cages and some not in the cages Small chicks with no water being kept in the back of a large truck, when they opened the truck the amount of flies that came out of the truck was crazy and I can't imagine how hot it gets in there at night. BEWARE!!! My friend recently purchased two birds from Nellie Farm & Feed, which shortly thereafter were determined by a licensed veterinarian to have infected and killed the ones she already had. The deceased birds, (and the human family), are now being tested for "Bird Flu" by Nevada Department of Agriculture. Nellis Farm & Feed, so far, is denying any and all responsibility, though proven through testing to have sold these infected birds. Buyers ... PLEASE BEWARE! And Yelp, since when is it permissible for a proprietor to immediately delete a review if it reports a problem?! read more

Very run down place and the animals are poor looking sickly. I wanted to purchase some hens and the facility looked awful

So I volunteer at a beautiful sanctuary in Las Vegas where we take care of 35 'ladies'. That's chickens!!! Some of our ladies are getting older so I've been looking around for some younger ones to purchase. We have orchard trees and lots of space for our ladies fresh air fresh water and good healthy food... So I was appalled at the condition that these ladies and roosters are in at Nellis farm and feed... Many were cooped up in a concrete pen...in their own filth. It smelled terrible. No water. No food. I couldn't believe the conditions they were in. How do we say this is alright...? This place should not be allowed to exist...really it's bad. They had the white ones in some grass outside all cooped up together. Not a nice place at all... read more

If i could give this place zero stars i would!! Don't waist your time or money we bought 2 hens and one rooster and we took them back within just two days of having them they didn't give money back of course nor did they seem to have any remorse read more

I wish I read the reviews before I came here. I should've turned around when I saw the living conditions of these poor animals. The smell and tight living arrangement for all the animals. I should've known it was a big mistake to park my car and get out. Trust your instincts! Turn around. Go home! What hooked me and kept me from leaving was the sad look on their faces to rescue them from that hell hole. I took two hens which by the way were captured by a non English speaking lady who swooped them up with a net like she was on a fishing charter catching a damn shark. I've never seen animals treated so poorly. I was tempted to open the cage and let them all free to live a better life. I took these two ladies home in a tiny box small enough for a turtle feeling like I did the right thing. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!! Not only did I discover down the road that these hens were deathly ill but they also took my other hen's life getting her sick. She was the sweetest thing ready to lay her first egg. I found mites all over them. I quarantined them like I should but these girls never stood a chance. They just built an immunity to keep them alive long enough to go to a nice loving home to kill the rest of the flock!! This company Nellis Feed should be ashamed and stop acting like they know what they are doing. They need to be shut down immediately!!!!!!! Be Careful!!!! Don't buy their live stock!!! read more

Glad I went there bought some chicks. A little out of the way but well worth the drive. Chicks are healthy.

Wrong business hours on site I called at 4pm they said they actually close at 5pm so I headed over and drove 40 minutes then got here 4:40pm and everything is closed I called and the girl she said sorry I don't know what to tell you we close early, after I just talked to her within a hour. read more

I will rate it four stars because I don't know if there are better places like these in Las Vegas. But I really liked the place. Really feels like a small farm. Lots of cool stuff inside the office. They have goats, roosters, hens, baby chicks, fresh eggs... not sure what else. One thing though... the sign REALLY needs to be better located. read more

Can't tell you what their business is like but I called them 2x, put on hold once and told I'd be called back the other and I STILL didn't get assistance. I usually am one to support family businesses but at least answer the phone or call back like you say you will. read more

A 1 star review for this place is high. My girlfriend and I should have turned away when we pulled up but when we seen the chickens our instinct was to save 2 of them from the horrendous conditions they lived in. 1st off the lady who selected the chickens swung a net around like a Major League Baseball player in an attempt to get the chickens we wanted. 2 nd she put them both in a box that would be suitable for a chick not a 6 month old chicken. 2 weeks after we got the chickens we noticed they had mites, a lot of mites. Next our healthy chickens started to get sick, swollen eyes, shallow breathing and 1 died. The next day the two chickens we saved from this dump died the same way. This was a horrible experience and I should have read the reviews prior to buying them. read more

there are dead chicks not disposed of properly, their chicken feed prices are overpriced, and i didnt realize the pullets i bought from them were sick until a week and a half later. we had to cull two of them and now our healthy ones in our flock are sick. symptoms are sneezing, mucus in their sinuses, eyes swollen shut, watery eyes, red inflammation in the face, and heavy breathing. i cant believe i paid $12 for sick pullets and its not worth driving all the way back there only to exchange for more sick pullets. read more

I love this place it! It saved me with my puppy! I got a puppy about a week ago and I bought it off of craigslist and the puppy didn't have his first shots and I needed them fast and cheap! I came here cause a friend said they have them pretty cheap!!! So I went and the lady there was super nice and it was quick buy! Anyway they sell other little things too.
