Petsmart on Nellis We had a good experience at this Petsmart. We were looking for a Syrian hamster and unfortunately, we didn't find one for us. The whole setup for the animals was incredible. The store was clean, the cages were clean, the animals were healthy. A woman helped us and let us interact with all of the Syrian hamsters. They all seemed happy and ready for homes, we just didn't find the one right for us. It was a good experience though and I definitely recommend the store. read more

I took my 6-month-old puppy for her very first grooming on April 17, 2026, and unfortunately, it turned into a deeply upsetting experience. The groomer, Ciara, accidentally nicked my puppy's leg badly enough that she was bleeding and couldn't walk comfortably afterward. What hurt even more was that Ciara didn't mention the injury to me at all--I only found out because another groomer brought it to my attention. As a pet owner, I trust that my puppy will be treated with care, kindness, and honesty, especially during her first grooming experience. It was heartbreaking to see her in pain and to feel that this situation wasn't handled with the transparency it deserved. Additionally, the upgraded services I paid for--including the special gifts--weren't even given to my puppy until I returned and asked about them. This experience left me disappointed and concerned. Do not bring your furbabies here for grooming and if you do please ensure they have done everything you are charged for! I was charged $51 for a bath and haircut, $15 for nail grinding and was coaxed into their $35 fall special. I picked up my furbaby and he was limping from pain...I was told he was sensitive from his nail grinding. Got home and realized he wasn't bathed...and his cut wasn't completed. He had patches of fur not cut in his belly area, front legs and sanitary trim wasn't completed either. There was some dry poop still stuck to his tail. A week later and my furbaby is still limping and yelping in pain. After an emergency trip to the ER, and X-rays our vet has put him on steroids and pain medication. Everyone has bad days I understand that, and if there had been an issue with my dog I would have appreciated an honest explanation and not a dismissive tale of he was too sensitive from the nail grinding. I took my dog here to be groomed at the last minute cause he had surgery the next day, the groomer that did him didn't even clean his privates at all i have never had to tell a groomer to do this he has bald spots in some areas. They someone fixed the issue, but i can tell they didn't want to, they energy when i walked in was so bad. We brought our almost 2 years old Bernese mountain dog to this store. It was supposed to be his first time but one of the associates who checked us in, told us that they couldn't handle our dog because he couldn't stay calm. We were so disappointed because they didn't have patience for our dog, knowing that we have told them in the first place, that it is HIS FIRST TIME and he doesn't know what it's like to be groomed. Also, this lady named "MARIA" who unfortunately was the manager of this store. She was extremely unprofessional and rude to us. According to her, we should have brought our dog to their "Dog Training program" first before bringing him to their grooming services because our dog was not behaving well and that he should get "more training" to be a good dog! Today I took my puppy (4 month) German Shepard to get groomed. I paid $70 for the summer special. When i picked him up several hours later, he was still damp and I was told they couldn't complete all the requested services because he nipped at them once. Why would they still charge me the entire amount of $70 in they did NOT complete there contractual services? And why didn't they call me to ask if they needed to muzzle him temp. For this. She is dishonest and cancelled the appointment due to her being dirty WHICH IS WHY WE ARE GETTING HER GROOMED. This is ridiculous and my mom spoke to the store manager, but I hope she gets fired. My mom works full time and has to MAKE time to get our dog groomed and she denies us service because she's lazy. I hope she loses her job. Selfish human behavior. This Petsmart is literally the worst store I've ever visited. My husband and I entered the store around 7:50PM and went to look at the cats they have up for adoption and made our way to the reptile tanks. We've been debating for a while now to purchase a ball python snake and came in to this store for a final decision. We couldn't find the ball python as we believe it was feeding during this time. However, we made our way over to the corn snake tank and saw that two snakes were paired together in the same tank and one was wrapping itself and biting the snake as it if it wanted to kill it. We notified the front cashier of this and said they would send someone over. When I say this snake was trying to kill the other, it REALLY was. The lack of urgency of this stores staff is literally unbelievable. I cannot understand why Petsmart's moto would be "We'd do anything for your pet." But as soon as I notify multiple staff member's of the situation happening with the corn snakes I'm being dismissed and continued to be told that "someone is on their way" when they're clearly not. I'm very upset about this entire situation as I care about snakes and even if you're someone who doesn't, you wouldn't let a dog or a cat, do the same thing and not say anything. Petsmart should not be selling animals that they aren't educated on and on top of that pairing two that shouldn't have been in the first place. I am absolutely uncomfortable with the way I left the store as no one was doing anything about it and the only staff member that came to us who notified us that "someone was on their way" kept saying "omg they are fighting, I thought you guys were trying to buy it" like why wouldn't you listen to us and not dismiss us and assume something when we're clearly telling you about the safety of the pets you're selling. I get that people need jobs nowadays but don't hire people who do not care about the safety of the animals you're selling. It's honestly ridiculous the amount of times we were told someone would come and not a single person approached us in 5 whole minutes after being told that two of their snakes were literally fighting and killing each other. This is the WORST PetSmart by FAR!!! They are always out of food for the animals they sell you. They only worry about selling you the animal period. For example I bought a bearded dragon from them over a year ago. They are out of crickets every week, if not every other day. I stopped by today they have plenty large crickets that they would not sell to me due to they are saving them for the animals they have. Which by the way there is no more bearded dragons there, a few leopard geckos, and one chameleon. There was a baby beardie few days ago but who knows it probably died due to their shitty care of their animals. I asked Anna the manager if she could at least sell me 10, she wouldn't. I was heated. I have been taking my dogs to the groomers at this Petsmart for 12 years and have never had a problem, until the new management came in. They refused to take our dog because he was shaking, it is known he has anxiety and will calm down once they take him into the back. The manager then accused us of wanting to cause harm to our dog. I wish there was a separate page for Petsmart grooming, because I love the store. But there isn't. So here it goes. The short version: Groomers have our dogs the worst haircuts I have ever seen, both too short, , looks like they got 2/3 of the way through the other and forgot to cut the remaining 1/3, which is the upper part, and both dogs were cut by clippers. Wouldn't fix it. Only refunded. We brought have brought our dogs there for a while, and while the haircuts were nothing to write home to about, they were fine. But since everything opened back up, the last two haircuts were SHAMEFUL. Last time, they were simply cut shorter than we wanted. But alright. Maybe it was a one time thing. This time, it's worse. My wife asked that the hair on their bodies be trimmed a bit longer, mentioning it was too short last time anyway, and we wanted them to be warm, but wanted the hair around their heads and their rears, which grow like crazy, needed a good trim. They said it would be right about 4 hours. No problem. She left. They call early, and said dogs were done. Odd but alright. She goes to get the dogs, basically has them handed off to her with no real talk about the cut, and rushed out the door. They are shaved down nearly to the skin. Its SO SHORT. The one with the mane, it looks like they got up towards her shoulders, stopped, and never finished. You can see tracks where its slightly longer and missed with the clippers on the body. Her mane was hardly touched, maybe slight evening at her ears, but otherwise looks the same. It is uneven, and WAAAAY too far down her back, and very choppy. My wife called about the satisfaction guarantee. Supposedly, they are suppose to do "What is the Look Great Guarantee? This is our promise to you that you'll love how your pet looks after a visit to our salon, or we'll do whatever it takes to make it right.". So we were like, maybe they can at least fix the mane? Fix the uneven patches? NOPE! They said that all they would do is give us a refund. Which I mean, cool... But that doesn't fix her hair. This means we are taking our dogs elsewhere to fix it. Because THIS doesn't look like any intentional haircut anyone would reasonably do. At best it looks like our dog went into surgery and had to be shaved down. The saving grace? After this we noticed the dogs both had spots that looks like they got cut up by the clippers. One on the ear, the other by her front left. Poor babies! No wonder the other one didn't want to sit to have the rest of his ears trimmed! read more

had my golden doodle groomed today. after getting her home I noticed that they gouged the hair on her stomach, her face was trimmed unevenly, her tail was not trimmed as I requested and her ears are still dirty. I paid $118.00 for this shabby grooming. I do not recommend this groomer. read more

Coming to this PetSmart is always mixed with how customer service is. Sometimes the customer service is decent at helpful with finding the stuff we need. Other times it's really hard to find a customer service and one time they took more than 15 mins to find us a person to help us. The checkout line is always very long and slow. My fur baby is my first baby and love of my life. I used to take him 45 minutes out of my way to the "best groomers" I could find on yelp because I wanted him to look his best. After a year a so, the routine got old and the grooming just wasn't what it used to be. I decided to try somewhere closer to home and I was not disappointed. Petsmart offers walk-ins and appointments. I usually book a couple days in advance to make sure I get a day that works for me since they are usually booked day-of. Their pricing is a bit pricier to the other place I went before. The standard service for $45 gets you grooming (haircut and bath). I was used to getting the works, such as nail trimming, grinding, anal expression, etc for that price..) They also do those premium services for an extra fee ($23 for a small dog.) During my visit today, I was helped by Miriam. She was extremely thorough when I came in, asking what I wanted done today and if there was anything she needed to pay extra attention to. I told her I wanted my dog's eyes area to be cleaned up since it grows the fastest and hinders his vision. Also, his tail was getting a bit long and poop gets stuck when he's going to the bathroom. She even gave me a play-by-play on what she was going to do for those trouble areas and asked if I wanted to do anything differently. I am not a picky person, so I let her do whatever she thought looked best for him. 3 hours later and my dog looked like a stud! She brought him out and let me have a look at him and asked if I needed anything changed. She even showed me his tail and eyes to make sure I was satisfied with them! I was super happy for her attention to detail and thoroughness. Usually, they ask me to pay first before they bring him out and have a look. And usually I see things that are uneven, but that's when I've already gotten back home and taken a real good look at him. But not today, everything was perfect! Also a good tip is that you earn reward points when you do grooming at PetSmart. I don't usually buy anything there, but I get special dog food for my little man. Got some on my way out and I had some rewards points to use towards my purchase. I consistently go there every 6 weeks, so that's where all my points must have come from! read more

I can't stand all the caged guinea pigs, they look horrible and as an owner of a guinea girl who lived 9 years my heart breaks and I want to buy them all and let them live a beautiful life at my home but wow..... I have seen tons of floating fish here which also breaks my heart. Anyway when you look at the dog toys here they will be almost double what you can pay on Amazon. My boys like getting toys from Amazon because it makes them excited to see the box and what is inside. Spoiled yes. i recently stopped going to the groomer i went to due to a terrible experience and giving my dog so many razor burns. i decided to change petsmart to a nearer location to me. my dog is prone to matts due to him being a goldendoodle and me taking hum to pahrump and him getting all muddy and dirty. this time we stayed there for a week and his matts got really bad. the young gal named EMMA was SOOO nice and pationate. she explained to me that because he was matted in some areas she would need to shave those parts either completely or slightly. i was a bit bummed but completely understood. when i saw how an AMAZING job she did i was SPEACHLESS. shout out to EMMA KRZYMOWSKI for making my dog look like a cut teddy bear !! read more

I could probably blame the area as a whole- the Wal-Mart (really ghetto) and 99 Cents Store (very ghetto- in fact, I could probably say that I hate this one- actually had a verbal altercation with a foreigner, maybe Russian- have not been there since). The parking lot is way too busy making it hard to get out of your parking space if you're parked right in front of the store. Also, many of the people shopping here seem, downright weird. This store doesn't have everything you're looking for, either, seems lacking. read more

I find this location is very convenient as it is located in a large shopping plaza which can make for an easy shopping expedition of need be The staff at this location is very friendly for both the store and Banfield. You can easily tell that the majority of the employees are pet owners/parents themselves. I especially love that when you've been here enough times, they know you by name as well as your babies (puppies/cats) names. It's also very convenient to be able to bring your pet into the store and allow them to pick put what treat or toy they prefer. Grooming and veterinary services that are offered here are very good and reasonable. The staff is very knowledgeable. I never hesitated to bring either one of my babies here. read more
