Scott was one of them and gave us a time frame of about 3 weeks which we thought was pretty good especially since the other company couldn't get to us for over a month. We were looking to have a few semi-flush mounted light fixtures, a ceiling fan and chandelier above the stairs replaced, and an outlet added so that we could move our TV above the fireplace. Scott was very professional and worked quickly. I was both pleased and surprised that he even changed his shoes before coming in the house and swept up after himself. I was also very thankful that he was able to fix an incorrectly installed ceiling fan that could have come down at any time (our baby is obsessed sitting under and watching our ceiling fan when it is on). He is priced fairly, does great work in a timely manner, and cleans up after himself. What more can you ask for? I would not hesitate to recommend his services and I will definitely be contacting him for future projects.

Two guys showed up, one was pretty young. They went to the basement for maybe 15 minutes came back upstairs and said they had to go get the snake. They left and got it then returned promptly. They were in the basement for over an hour when two more guys showed up, one of which was again pretty young. Without my knowledge or permission there were four men walking through my house in and out of my basement into my living area. As a female at the house alone, this was very unprofessional of them to do and very uncomfortable for me. After zero communication and another hour of them being in the basement, they called me down to look at a camera attached to a scope, couldn't see anything but a chunk of pipe missing. I was confused, uncomfortable and blown away by the mess. Speechless. I then said "ok so we can talk about this once you're finished?" The owner replied, "yes" and stated that I needed my line replaced to the road. Another 20 minutes go by then two guys leave. The owner said he's going to make a call to get a quote for an excavator and walked outside. The two younger gentleman did attempt to wipe up my kitchen floor as they were leaving with an old dirty rag they had in the van. Saying they were sorry for the mess. They were nice young men. The last one goes outside and then they all drove away. I had no idea what work was done and what really needed to be done besides the comment that I needed to replace the sewer line to the road. Hours went by and I received a bill in my email for $550.00 for a jetting service. There was no communication whatsoever. This man does what he wants, takes off and then sends a bill to your email. I paid because I'm not a POS and felt obligated. This man took full advantage of me. Once they left, I had to deep clean my floors as there was raw sewage tracked everywhere. When I went downstairs to the basement, I instantly began to cry. My basement was covered in raw sewage water. I had to pay another company to clean the hazardous mess as it was literally going to make us sick (ended up getting sick from all of it). Please see the photographs. Does this man take advantage of hard working females? Shame on you and your company, Pratti Mechanical. I have dozens of other photos from my security cameras that are located in my basement. I hope it brings you joy to know that your unprofessionalism and lack of respect for my home cost me thousands of dollars and had me physically Ill. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL experience. Worst of the worst. This review is absolute truth. I have zero gain from telling the truth and exposing myself... The owner will comment saying my services were discussed prior to being completed, they weren't. My partner put an ad on CL to see what was out there and was contacted by Jim, of Great Bear Renewable Energy. Jim said that he had a reconditioned wood stove that was still under warranty and he could do a full install that would meet all requirements and sell us a mantle for the new stove. We were completely happy with his price, bought the stove, sight unseen, where going to buy a mantle from him. We built a new hearth, had the fireplace cleaned, scheduled his inspection visit and we gave him a 50% deposit on the spot. He scheduled one install day and then had to reschedule. We confirmed the new date and checked in to confirm it again as it got closer (because we are facing November now and had already had one date go bad). He seemed like a nice enough guy when he came for the inspection and we were really excited about the stove. Out of the blue we get a check for a full refund of the stove with no explanation whatsoever. We call/email and ask why and get a message that my partner is a 'details guy' and so Jim doesn't think we'd be a 'good fit.' WHAT?!? If by "details guy" he means - we pay for a service, on time, as requested, and so we like to know that we are going to receive the service as promised - then, yes, he is a 'details guy'. When did this become a bad thing? We didn't hold back payment, we didn't demand to see the stove in person before we bought it, he is the one who replied to our query on CL - and then he rejects our business with a thoroughly questionable excuse? Can't recommend anyone do business with this Great Bear Renewable Energy. Based on my research I got the bright idea that I could install heated floors. The basement ceiling…read morewas exposed, so I could do fasten heat transfer plates to the subfloor, and be living in the future. I looked around online for information for quite a while before I settled on Radiantec for having the most clearly understandable information about how radiant loops work, and what to expect of them. I placed my order, and was off to the races. The first thing that you need to understand though is that an installation below the subfloor is the least efficient way to install a heated floor. I learned that the hard way as I had to turn the temperature progressively higher to satisfy the heat load for my building. That is not a criticism of Radiantec, but it is definitely worth noting if you expect to heat your home with 90 degree water. A subfloor installation calls for closer to 140 on the coldest days. David at Radiantec was very helpful in answering my questions, and estimating what materials I needed for the system. Every home is different, but his estimate was nearly spot on. Their shipment also comes with a few repair couplings, because mistakes are inevitable, and their couplings are much more cost effective than a SharkBite alternative. I also appreciated their comparison of the effectiveness of different aluminum plate widths. They seem to have optimized the plate for cost effectiveness, because it definitely gets the job done. When I compared their material prices to competing radiant system distributers, Radiantec was an excellent value. The installation process was hard, tedious work, but so is all construction. I got it done, and was excited to finally activate my system. Let me just say that a radiant system is not terribly expensive if you do the work your self, but it is well worth it to never have to deal with a cold surface in your home again. That first day you wake up, and feel the heat coming off of your mattress is glorious. If you have some time and patience, I highly recommend this for a DIY project.
