I decided it was time to get a refund and move on... I fortunately landed in the hands of a an excellent optometrist and staff at Verona Vision Center. We are talking top notch experts in their field. The quality of service from the phone call to the exam to the fitting to receiving my glasses is a 10+. My lenses are crisp and clear. It's wonderful to see so clearly out of the high quality material they use. I just can't say enough about the optomotrists level of skill, knowledge and expertise, and the quality of service by her and the other 3 staff members I encountered regarding reception, fitting, and pucking up my glasses. He refined my prescription, in multiple appointments and trial periods with lenses of various types and power levels. The result was fantastic! He improved my reading ability, correcting my vision to optimal reading levels in each eye. In addition the cost was amazingly small - charging only for the two packages of 12 contac lenses. I should add that the front office service by Greg is expert, professional, timely and reliable. Whether you are needing optometric care or just buying lenses, glasses or frames , Schanel is the best I can imagine in Madison and convenient if you want service on State Street -- a truly outstanding customer experience!

My insurance company does not print new cards each year, and since my card had last year's printed date on it I was almost refused service by the person at the front desk. I had to call my insurance company myself and put them on the phone with the front desk person in order to verify that my insurance was current. It is frankly not the customer's job to verify their insurance, and even the insurance person I called was surprised and mentioned that they have an online system for businesses to verify coverage online. The excuse I was given is that lately they have given eye exams to people who did not have current insurance coverage. As I stated before, this is not my problem as a customer and most other places simply verify coverage themselves before providing services. I would have just left but I made the appointment ahead of time and didn't want to bother rescheduling. I will certainty never come back since I was treated extremely rudely.

I've been here before for other "eye care", and have received excellent care. We don't get our glasses here. Their frames are a bit pricey for our taste. If you're into fancy name brands, you'll be happy. But they don't look down on me for taking that business elsewhere, which is nice. The online appointment system is messed up. For one thing, you feel like you're going to grab a time slot, but it really wants you to pick the best 3 slots for you, and they'll get back to you. I did that, but when they got back to me, they didn't have anything for a few weeks after what I had selected. They told me that the online booking system was inaccurate - they should probably just ditch that and put up a phone number (or, better yet, fix it). That all being said, I'll still get my eye care here - but they could improve some things.
