Don't let some of these reviews deter you. No, it's not fine dining, but we eat here often and are never disappointed.

I only tried this place for convenience since it's right next to the medical supply place I shopped at. The inside is small with a handful of tables. The hostess assumed I was there to pickup an order but I corrected her that I had planned to dine in. Her response was, "oh yeah. You can do that too." The menu had a lot of choices. Too many choices. And I didn't see any combination plates. I was in a bit of a hurry so I ordered the General Tso's chicken because it was a familiar dish to me. The hostess was also my waitress and took my order. She asked what soup and rice I wanted. I didn't realize my meal also came with this. I ordered white rice and I asked what were my soup options. Hot and sour, egg drop and wonton. I chose the wonton. Now, I don't really like these soups, but out of the three, wonton is my least revolting. For the last 20 years the only Chinese restaurant I've eaten at is the buffet on Navarro. So that's the wonton soup I'm used to. When she brought me my cup of soup I noticed it had a chunk of cabbage as well as wontons in it. "Nice touch," I thought. Then I tasted it. Wow!! The cabbage was still firm. Fresh. And the broth was delicious. Not chicken bouillon broth as I expected. Then the wontons... wow! I've never had a wonton this high quality before. Everything about it was delicious and obviously fresh. Soon after, my General Tso's plate arrived. There was enough food to feed my family on that plate. And there were so many veggies with the chicken. Fresh, firm broccoli, bell peppers, scallions, and I believe cayenne peppers. I accidentally bit into one of the peppers and my mouth was immediately on fire!! The sauce was a deep dark red and full of flavor. The perfect blend of spicy and sweet. More on the spicy and less on the sweet. Every bite was delicious. I couldn't eat it all because there was too much food. I asked the waitress for a to-go container. I definitely wasn't going to leave these left overs behind! When she brought me my styrofoam container I told her that this was the absolute best General Tso's I've ever had. She admitted that she herself won't eat Chinese food anywhere else in town.

She said she liked it -- but it wasn't worth the cost. We ordered fried pickles as our app. They were incredibly salty & fried so hard we could barely chew them. The ranch with it tasted good though. For our meals we had the beer battered shrimp - my child ate only 1 shrimp because the shrimp were fried so hard & overcooked that she couldn't chew it unless we cut it into little pieces. (She's 7, so it shouldn't have to be cut) she loved the fries though. So that was 19$ down the drain. I ordered the sesame shrimp. Again, shrimp was so big & fried so long that they were so tough. The sesame sauce was so salty & sweet & overpowering. I only ate 3 shrimp. The veggies were just mushy steamed veg. Nothing special. We also ordered the captains platter. My husband disliked the fried oysters. He said they were not good at all. The fish looked old & very overcooked. The rolls were dry & tasted old. I would usually never complain about it being too cold somewhere but it was sooooo cold inside. Our food got cold immediately. I admit, I didn't mention the quality of the food when asked. I felt too bad. The waitress was really sweet. But we rarely saw her at the end of the meal. Another man, the manager I guess, picked up her slack. He was nice, too. Our bill before tip was like $91 or $94 I think. Overall, the food was definitely not worth that amount. We fast 23 hours a day & eat only 1 meal per day. We were so hungry that we ate. But the quality was really bad. Esp the captains platter. I just looked at my receipt & I THINK I was charged extra when a plate was a special. And the price of one plate was diff on receipt compared to menu.

Mainly writing this to respond to the review I just saw from Ashley claiming to have found "tapeworms" though. Those are veins, dear, they're a natural part of the animal. Seems a pretty extreme accusation to level against a completely inoffensive restaurant, and since it was incorrect I felt like someone should address it.

I had the new Caribbean Steak and Shrimp dish, and after refrigerating and reheating the leftovers, I noticed at least three worms. My boyfriend had a different meal and said his food was perfectly fine it was just mine that was contaminated. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety and hygiene. I have photos documenting the issue and have preserved the food. I reported this to management and expect a full investigation and resolution. No one should ever have to find parasites in their food. Please take this seriously, Olive Garden food safety is not optional.
