    Pasta salad

I fell in love with this place years ago. A former employer used to order lunches from Luigis a few times a month. The sandwiches are huge, definitely large enough to be shared. I called my order in and it was ready within 15 minutes. I miss being able to dine-in at Luigis but I'm happy to see they are thriving through these difficult times. I usually get the meatball chub or the Gabriella sandwich, but I decided to try something different today. The meatball chub and the Gabriella are both served hot and never disappoint. I tried the Nero sandwich and it was great. It's also a good hot sandwich that consists of buffalo-style chicken, chorizo, fontina cheese, roasted red pepper, hot sauce and field greens. It was absolutely delicious. The bread was so soft and the flavors of the toppings blended well. Next time, I'll probably ask for more hot sauce because it didn't have much of a spicy kick at all. Can't wait to have this sandwich again. I always get a side of pasta salad and it's always good- full of flavor and fresh peppers and onions!

Haven't been back here for far too long! After some confusion about where to order (the first window) and what to order, I was set. Two other customers had trouble figuring out which floor (it's upstairs) Luigi's is located. Initially, there was a difference of opinion when I asked whether they had an eggplant parm sandwich and the server said they didn't--but actually the Leonardo has eggplant along with zucchini, pepper, onion and cheese on excellent bread. Potato-potahto. (My philosophy: Don't day "Yes, but..." say "Yes, and...") But it all turned out well! The Leonardo Sandwich was great as well as the Caesar Salad with chicken. I plan to come back and try other salads and hot as well as cold sandwiches or subs. They only have takeout, no sit-down. And remember: Luigi's is located UP the stairs on the porch--and you order at the FIRST window. And, oh, DON'T tap on the window. Someone will be with you shortly!

Made it out to Hampden to try Luigi's but missed them the 1st time as they actually closed at 3 pm. As of this writing, they are open 11 am-3pm daily (or "sell out"). Only takeout/delivery available for now. I'm sure it was a charming spot when they had dine-in but for now it's a pickup window. They had an ample selection of hot/cold sandwiches & had a hard time deciding as all looked good. We settled on the The Scooch (most popular (according to their website), Leonardo & La Porchetta. Perfect balance of roll to meat/veggies on all 3. The surprise star was the Leonardo. The thicker cut marinated roasted eggplant stood out with the squash, mozzarella, pesto & balsamic balancing it out. One of the best Italian veggie sandwiches I've had! The Scooch (roasted peppers and hots took it over the top!) and Porchetta also didn't disappoint. We also tried the Pepperoni roll which was ok-stuffed with an abundant amount of pepperoni with tomato sauce. Overall, this is the Spot in Hampden for some proper Italian sandwiches. We will be back!

I picked up a sandwich to go as soon as they opened and ate it a few hours later. I ordered the Isabella, no tomato, add lettuce. It was absolutely delicious, great bread and good amount of meat. Great value for the money

Italian subs. So good. I want it again
    Jamie F.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff was friendly and funny. The subs are big and good. I been craving a good Italian sub, like how they used to be. Every where else subs are skinny and gentrifed. Their subs are like old school subs. I'm definitely going back

If you're looking for a great sandwich, Luigi's is your place! From traditional subs to unique flavor combos like to solozzo (prosciutto, cream cheese, and cucumber), they've got you covered. Honesty, the absolutely best thing about Luigi's is the bread. It's firm enough to hold your sandwich together but uniquely fluffy. Just writing about the bread, I can't wait to return. Tip- they do sell half sizes if you don't think you'll finish a full sandwich.

    Italian Cold Cut Sandwich

I was in search of a great Italian cold cut sub that delivered to my neighborhood and I believe I found it by way of Luigi Italian deli! Every part of my sandwich was just right ... bread , meat , dressing, heat , size and flavor. This is probably my shortest review because it's a delivery but my goodness if you are in search of a divinely delicious Italian cold cut this is your shop!

Got the Italian cold cut. Bread was good quality albeit a little too thick, but they really skimped on the meat. I think it's boar's head anyways so it's not like it's something special, you can get this stuff at the grocery store. I would go other places.

The Italian cold cuts and meatball subs are awesome. Fast service! The hots are sneaky and pretty dang hot!

Perfect Italian sandwich place. Bread is exactly what you want, balanced of meat , cheese, and toppings. Small but nice deck to sit out on.

Additionally, they sell limes and lemons at the register which if you've ever had a few friends over for drinks, you tend to prioritize the alcohol and forget the limes/lemons. It's always a duh moment for me but because they have them right at the register, it's easy to remember. What I think I like most about The Wine Source is how honest staff are about their thoughts on different wines. If they don't like it, they'll tell you and have enough knowledge to even recommend something based on your tastes. Lot parking can be a little scarce sometimes but that's really out of their control and usually street parking is easy to find in the area. In short, would highly recommend! My friend (who's the wine guy for sure) loves it here and says it's one of the best wine spots in Baltimore to him. P.S. They also sell some food in the shop which I haven't tried yet but I'm sure it's good!

Closest thing to a New Orleans po'boy in Baltimore…read more The Catfish Po'Boy here is no joke. Kimchi-brined fried catfish, remoulade, capers, lettuce, tomato and red onion on a sub roll -- it immediately reminded me of Mandina's on Canal Street in NOLA. That's about as high a compliment as I can give a po'boy outside of Louisiana. My partner had the Heirloom BLT and loved every bite. Fresh heirloom tomatoes, arugula, sprouts, herbed avocado mayo on wheat -- simple and done right. Chuck's has that perfect Hampden energy: unpretentious, a little quirky, genuinely good food. The counter seating where you watch everything made to order is a nice touch. Grab something from the bodega side on your way out. Show up Tuesday for the po'boy lunch special. You won't regret it.

I can confidently say that everyone that recommended this place was right. I had the Seoul skillet with pork belly, kimchi and mushrooms and wow, was it good! The flavors melted perfectly and it was the epitome of a well balanced breakfast. Service was fine - a bit slow, but they were incredibly busy, so I don't fault them at all for that. One thing I do hate is having to continuously ask for my water to be refilled, and I was left with an empty glass quite often but again, they were swamped so I do understand. Ambience is very interesting here, I don't know that I have ever been to a more eclectic restaurant. The decor is all over the place but it really does fit the vibe so I say this with zero negativity. It's quite tight in the space but that's totally fine. Overall I will 100% be coming back and would recommend anyone else do so.

But they do have a wide menu which includes cheesesteak so I decided to give them a try. Then came the 100% disappointing sad cheesesteak I was served. From the soggy bread, to the wrapper that stuck to my cheese and turned my cheesesteak into just the "steak" part. The flavor was that of a piece of bread soaked in water and tasteless. Overall did not come close to fulfilling my craving. Service was the same to follow. I approached the counter where I was greeted. The only customer service part of my experience. I told her my name and she said it would be a few more minutes. The woman then stated talking to her coworkers.. nonstop chatter. All the while the back cooks were bringing up food. And they were bagging it. After about 10 minutes of waiting. I interrupted the chatter and asked if my sandwich would be coming soon (at this point it had been 20 minutes since I ordered). She then asked me my name again and then grabbed a bag that had been sitting in the counter for some time and handed it to me. No apology.. nothing to show my bag had been sitting there for the last 8 minutes while I waited and she as the "greeter" forgot to check on it.
