    70. Lamb Curry
    Amelia B.

My Nepal House dining experience exceeded my expectations! Quite a few diners on a Monday night, but was still able to secure a table for two. This is a great spot for anyone with dietary restrictions, as their menu accommodates vegans and vegetarians. There were so many options to choose from. We tried the Vindaloo Chicken, Lamb Curry, and Garlic Naan. Spice levels were all conservative and I'm glad we went with that choice. Great flavor and tenderness on the meats, with outstanding sauces to compliment. Thankful we got the garlic naan because it really completed the meal. I'd go here for a casual date or a bite with a small group of friends. We were seated right by the door so it was distracting at times with the deliveries going in and out constantly, but that's show biz. Nice service. We were served timely and even given extra rice to go with our leftovers. Pricing is great and with two guests we had leftovers from each of the entrees. I shall be back.

Came here without a reservation the other day around 7:30pm and they seated us promptly. Service was also pretty quick. The interior is clean and well-decorated with cultural music playing. The food was decent. Everything was on the cheaper side ($17-19 per dish) but the naan portion was a little small. I had the chicken tikka masala and it didn't have much of a taste to it, felt bland. My friend got the lamb chili masala and that had a little quick, it was delicious!! Overall: walk-in friendly, relatively affordable restaurant with good lamb chili masala but bland chicken tikka

Went in a little bit after lunch hour and the restaurant was completely empty. There is plenty of seating and the service there is very nice and fast. There are many options to choose from with varying spice levels. They always have great lunch and takeout deals. The aloo paratha and chili naan were the stars of the show. The food was great for the area; definitely a little pricey but big portions and reliably good

Man! First time trying Nepalese food and it hit the spot... to the point I wanted to take a nap afterwards. While at work, my coworker ordered from Nepal House and I'm so glad he did. This was a top tier meal and I didn't feel like blubber afterwards, it was great. Experience food and culture I've never experienced is one of my favorite things, to add the cherry on top is when the experience is delicious! This was also my first time trying Mango Lassi... I can't wait to show my family and friends haha I'm hooked. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the vibes of the place because we ordered carry out but I'm sure it felt home-y and comfortable there haha. Thank you Nepal House for the wonderful meal and I can't wait to eat from here again! Personal Review: 8.8/10

A hidden gem of south loop. Definitely need to try it. The host is so welcoming. One of my favorite Nepalese/Indian food restaurants in Chicago. I highly recommend the Naan, the butter chicken, mango lasso, and Masala Tea here.

This is a great addition to old town for a wide variety of nostalgic, satisfying dishes. Service is good. I really liked the paneer chow mein which was spicy and flavorful. The chicken momos were hot, fresh, soft and delicious--reminded me of Dehli! The tandoori chicken was pretty dry and lacking in flavor. It was also pretty overpriced for what you get

A great addition to the neighborhood. Casual mom-and-pop ambiance in contrast to the chic places in the area. Just good solid food. Nothing was too spicy, but it was all flavorful. The entrees took a little while to come out, so they offered us free pakoras, which were welcome and delicious. All the food tasted freshly made. The coconut curry on the fish was especially memorable. Be forewarned that the goat, while tender and flavorful, was on the bony side.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The place was absolutely empty, but did have a couple take out orders being picked up. Service was good, but could have been a little friendlier. The ambiance is set up nicely too and if it had a few more people there it would've felt nicer. We offered a salad to start. The salad itself was fresh but was served with yogurt and chutneys, no actual dressing which we thought was odd because the menu mentioned house made dressing. If it was just going to be yogurt, it should've been noted as such. The tandoori roti was nice, naan was tasty but a bit thick and doughy. The chole and kadhi chicken were both extremely delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and after we were done, we did not feel the food was very heavy as Indian restaurant food can sometimes be. Overall, would go back to try more dishes.

I ordered online from here and loved it. All the food was good but I'll be coming back just for the dumplings. I never thought of Indian food with dumplings, but it was a hit.

    30. Chicken Choila with beaten rice and cold potato salad. Great meal!

Really good spot. I've never had Nepalese food before and really enjoyed trying it. I had the chicken choila and chicken mo mos which the waiter said were two Nepalese favorites. Both were fantastic. The choila came with a cold potato salad and beaten rice. And a lemon to squeeze over the whole thing. It was great to contrast all of the different flavors, temperatures and textures. The mo mo were also great. Fantastic meal. It is a bit pricey. But what isn't nowadays? Highly recommend.

It has such a great garlic taste and it was perfect for dipping in here masala sauce. The butter chicken was so buttery. It tasted very similarly to the chicken tikka masala though. Not pictured was our mango lassi. My boyfriend ordered it for us and in was pleasantly surprised. It's like a mango yogurt drink. It has a velvety texture and it was very flavorful. The butter chicken and naan paired so well together, and it tasted even better with the rice. Additionally, the grilled meats were cooked to perfection and seasoned so well! I loved how flavorful the chicken and lamb were that I couldn't stop eating it. There was so much food that we had to take the rest to-go. The service was not bad. They made sure to fill our waters when they got empty and brought out the food very quick. The only con was that the waitress seemed very monotone and didn't really seem interested in serving us. I judge Indian food based on saag or palak paneer and this was a winner. We also enjoyed a tray of grilled meats. They were all really good but the chicken was a bit dry. The dahl was spot on. I am not a fan of basmati rice. THIS basmati rice was so so good. It was longish and kinky and didn't have a heavy flavor. The onion kulcha was a bit busy with lentils? in the middle. It was good but I prefer just onions. Both the naan and kulcha were baked perfectly. Warning: portions are huge!! I find most fast-casual burger places make something decent, and some make hockey pucks. Meanwhile, this one is leaps and bounds above the rest. The lamb patty on its own was not only soft and well-seasoned, but also brimming with flavor. Then I took a bite of the whole thing and temporarily bounced up to food heaven. The herbaceous, savory, and earthy notes of their chimmichutney took the burger to another level. The veggies added some additional freshness, with the avocado and mayo contributing even more savory notes. Big bonus points for a fresh bun, too! On messiness: The container was small enough that I could barely slide my hands in to grab the burger. This, combined with the somewhat slippery chimmichutney, meant that keeping the burger together was a difficult and losing battle. No worries - less chimmichutney would mean less flavor, and I have no issues eating anything (burgers included) with a fork. Simply, I'd hope Bhoomi Modern Indian Grill considers larger containers for these... otherwise, don't upset the balance! Finally, credit to the service for being kind, friendly, and giving me something hot and fresh after about five minutes! Thus, Bhoomi Burger quickly earned a spot on my favorites. The whole experience was all-around fantastic, and I can't wait to bring all my friends here.
