Had a wonderful time mini golfing at Neptune's Kingdom! There were a lot of holes to play which really makes you feel like you get your moneys worth. For those who have been to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, this places gives the same vibes! Best mini golf course I have played yet and fun for kids and adults alike. Worth every dollar!

Came here on a family vacation and decided to visit Neptunes for a round on mini golf. To our disappointment the entire facility was reserved and filled to the max with many different Boy Scout troops. We were unable to play our favorite round of golf. Very disappointed.

Best mini golf we've been to in NorCal is at Neptune's Kingdom at the Boardwalk Walk. $12 per person.

In my opinion, an absolute perfect representation of how mini golf should be. You go in a journey here where all Holes are quite different and they are so fun and rewarding. One of my fav things about Santa Cruz if I'm Being honest. I even got a hole in one on one of the holes, it was great. Only con is that sometimes it's PACKED so there is a lot of waiting between holes

    Old boardwalk games.

Arcade and mini golf on the boardwalk, the building itself is an important part of Santa Cruz history and I like how the second story has a small wall, preserving old photos and stories to keep them from becoming ghosts of the past. Used to be called the Natatorium, or the "Plunge", was a pool filled with salt water that was pumped in from the Monterey Bay, then heated for bathing comfort. There were once acrobatic water shows here and demonstrations by Duke Kahanamoku who popularized surfing and whose statue you've seen in Oahu and Huntington Beach. There is a small aisle that has old boardwalk games like fortune telling and strength testing. There is even an old-timey peep show of a swimsuit girl wearing much more clothes you'll see just walking down the boardwalk. The largest feature is a pirate themed 18 while indoor golf course which is perfect to burn time in sunny or rainy weather. It's two stories with an elevator you can ride up in the middle. There are modern games on the first floor. Second has billiards and pinball.

Wow, despite the pandemic going on, I'm glad that Neptune's Kingdom is still around :') My partner and I had fond memories coming here during university days, despite being broke and hardly able to afford playing a lot of the arcade games and snacks offered here. It felt different being able to come into Neptune's Kingdom with less worry about finances and more excitement and freedom about what to play in the arcade! Needless to say, we spent a good 3 hours on the coin spitting game. I wish I knew what the name was, but at the same time, I didn't lol. That machine ate a Benjamin from my partner and I. We had a goal of collecting the entire character set of The Wizard of Oz...and guess what... we did!! But at what cost...LOL. It was so fun to be kids again and enjoy some normalcy in life :') it was also nice to see people out and about enjoying arcade games. Almost felt like the world wasn't going through a pandemic during that short trip we had at the Boardwalk. I'm coming for ya Toto and Tin Man! Until next time, Neptune's Kingdom!

This is a fun course and in doors, so you can do this when it's raining. Currently $10, so keep that in mind. Pirate themed, argh! However, today we came in and were told they were at capacity, come back in 10 minutes. We came back later and there was a long line letting people in as they paid. I don't understand why we were sent away, when they allowed a line.

Animated pirate, wheel to spin, cannon ball smoke, and the whole area was so detailed!

By far, the best mini golf course I've ever done! It's not challenging at all but the animatronics and all the details and decor make it absolutely fun! I especially liked the holes that were in the dark and the one with the wheel to spin (I had to close my eyes for my 1st swing!). I came when it was crowded and everyone patiently waited for other groups to finish their rounds, and the vibe was lovely. I will admit there were no young kids though. Overall, I highly recommend this spot! Pros: - inexpensive! - glow in the dark club and balls - super detailed and animated - cute date idea Cons: - stairs might be hard for some - uneven terrain might be difficult to navigate for some

Pirate theme throughout the golf course...

I just LOVE this 2 story old fashioned arcade complete with an indoor pirate themed miniature golf course, air hockey tables and a bar upstairs for worn out parents! It's another one of our musts when we visit the boardwalk. I hadn't been here for about 5 years and on my most recent visit I was pleasantly surprised to find that a game of miniature golf is only $7 a person...for about an hours worth of fun, that may be one of the best deals on the boardwalk!

A great mini golf course. So nostalgic... Used to come here all the time when I was little. Meant to go before the shut down but never had the chance. Went last weekend and had a blast. Super fun at night with the lights. And if you dont talk like a Pirate while in here... Are you really having a great time? Shot 8 over too. my best golf score ever! Cant wait to play again!

It's their Centennial year too, 100 years! Love the carnival style games, classic arcade, rides, caricature artists, and of course, the main beach. I specifically sought out the Giant Dipper wooden Rollercoaster, the original Looff Carousel with the brass ring catching game, and the sky gondola this trip. Since food was provided at the Grove I passed on the funnel cakes, beignets, Dippin' Dots, pretzels and the like. They did have a commemorative reusable/refillable drink cup with a bendy straw though. The MyFunMoment selfie stations weren't working that day though. I was impressed by how well-maintained and safe the area feels. The new additions successfully modernize the space while preserving its classic charm. I also appreciated how clean the beach felt and the presence of many lifeguards. However, I found the food quality to be mediocre. I ordered the cod and fried shrimp basket; the cod had an overwhelming beer taste, and the shrimp and fries were only average. Additionally, the funnel cake was overcooked. Unlimited ride wristbands were $65 but entering the beach and boardwalk is free. I had a pleasant time overall.

Then fast forward at least 15 maybe even 20 years and this guy entirely forgot he had credit because his job took him away from Santa Cruz. But one day he returns to get the batteries changed in his old Pokemon games (which they did quickly and for a very reasonable price) and he was informed he had almost 20 bucks sitting there. That's me. I'm the guy. It's been so long that they could never have told me and I would never have been the wiser. Also, even if I remembered they could have kept the money after so much time had passed and I would have fully understood. But nope, they held on to it and even told me about it. Their collection of retro games is amazing and you can buy modern games there too? It's all you could want in a game store.

I took several gaming hardware items - controllers, adapters, chargers, cases, and a GBA game - to sell because I wanted to get rid of them. I've been a regular customer at this local game shop for years and have always had decent experiences there. When I dropped off the items, the employee at the counter gave me a very firm rundown about policy, percentages, and profit margins right off the bat - not exactly the warmest greeting, but fair enough. They had a backlog of other trade-ins to appraise, so they let me keep the items there and said they'd follow-up over the phone with their prices later, which they did after a couple of days. During that phone conversation with their employee (who was not the employee I dropped off the items with), I asked if she could list out the prices on each item. She provided me with that info and I told her that I agreed to the prices on the smaller items, but that I'd come by in a few days to pick up the GameCube controller because the price was lower than I was hoping for. I didn't argue about it - I just said I'd pass on that one and pick up the rest. About 3 days after that phone call, I came into the store to pick up my items and had what was honestly the worst customer service experience I've had at any local shop, which is why I'm writing this review. There were two employees behind the counter who I recognized from previous visits. After I walked in and asked for my items, one employee handed me the bag and then brought up an old issue from a few weeks earlier where I had attempted to purchase METROID PRIME 4: BEYOND from their website when it was mistakenly listed for $0.00. Immediately after checkout, they had sent me an email revoking the purchase, explaining it was an error on their site. I understood and moved on from it at the time - these things happen. I wasn't actually expecting the game. However, it felt strange to have this brought up again now, especially in a tone that seemed like I had done something wrong by placing the order in the first place. The employee said, "no worries," but the context made it feel like I was being called out rather than reassured. At this point, I was just standing there ready to complete the transaction for the items I'd agreed to sell (a GBA game and one of the cases aforementioned). But then the other employee - the same person I had dropped off the items with initially - told me that they had actually decided to pass on ALL the items and would be offering me $0 instead. I said, "Oh, so you changed your mind from what was offered on the phone?" He then told me that I had haggled with his coworker on the phone and had come back into the store in-person on a different day to push for better prices on all the items. This was completely incorrect. I never came back to the store between drop-off and this pickup, and I never haggled - I simply declined the controller and accepted the other prices. I tried to clarify: "That didn't happen. I didn't do that. You have the wrong information." He dismissed this and launched into a lengthy explanation about their policies and evaluation process, talking over me even when I tried to correct the misunderstanding a second time. His coworker even attempted to interject and redirect the conversation, but he waved him off and kept going. Eventually I just said, "have a good one" and left because I was feeling very uncomfortable. Look, I understand trade-in shops need to make a profit, and I understand that pricing errors happen on websites. What I don't understand is the conflicting information (being offered prices, then being offered nothing), the accusation about behavior I didn't engage in, and the unwillingness to hear me out when I tried to correct the record. I've spent a lot of money here over the years and have always been respectful and nice. I'm disappointed that this is how things ended, but I won't be returning to this shop or spending my money here ever again. I'm posting this so others know to get clear, written confirmation on any trade-in offers and to be prepared for potential communication issues as well as some pretty bad customer service overall - particularly from certain employees.

So be prepared for traffic kerfluffle and high pricing in the summer. It's kind sorta located with neptune's kingdom-that piratical themed minigolf thing. From the parking/street side of things just go up the set of stairs across from the where you pay for the minigolf. There is a snack bar up there, but it's movie theater quality pricing and flavor. Some of the best two dollar hot dog's you'll ever pay seven dollars for. They have beer in cups or cans for sale-but a single beer will be roughly the cost of whole six pack in a store. Still, there is food and beer if you simply must have it. To my mind the two best things up here are the games and the bathrooms. Generally speaking the restrooms up on the game deck tend to be slightly cleaner and less crowded then the ones elsewhere on the boardwalk. This is a relative standard mind you, but still. Then there are the games. There are not quite a dozen pool tables in excellent condition. There is almost always one open and dozens of people (mostly, but not exclusively men) hanging out playing. If you are looking for game of pool this is the spot. There are also almost twenty pinball games lined up, well, everywhere. So if you looking for some serious pool or pinball action without the kidzone effect elsewhere on the boardwalk this is the spot.
