I was interrupted multiple times, spoken over, and told the miscommunication was my responsibility, despite never being notified of any changes. I came in expecting a relaxing Mother's Day treat for myself and instead left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. When I booked the appointment, I was informed that Ana was unavailable at my requested time and was offered either a 5:00 PM appointment that same day or an appointment the following day. At no point during that phone call was I told that I would instead be scheduled with a different technician. If that had been clearly communicated, this confusion could have easily been avoided. When I arrived that morning, the receptionist was not yet at the front desk or inside the building. I was also not the only customer who checked in before the receptionist arrived. Ana was outside, greeted me herself, and began my pedicure. Ana herself would not have known who she was scheduled to see until clients were checked in, so it is unfair to place the responsibility entirely on me for the confusion. What made the experience disappointing was not simply the scheduling mix-up, but how the situation was handled afterward. During the conversation, the receptionist acknowledged that I had not been clearly informed over the phone that I would have a different technician, yet the responsibility continued to be placed on me for "not clarifying." Unfortunately, the new management has really changed what was once a great nail salon. Under the previous owners, the salon was consistently busy, and the quality of service was excellent. While Elements provides similar services, they have introduced what I feel are excessive add-on charges. The salon now often appears nearly empty, with many staff members sitting idle, which makes the constant extra fees even more noticeable. For example, if you already have gel polish on your toes, they charge a fee to remove it and then charge another fee to apply new gel polish. If you have a Gel-X set done and return a new set, they charge an additional fee to remove the existing set. I've been getting my nails done for years, and this is the only salon I've encountered that adds so many extra charges for standard services. The quality of the work is acceptable, but the constant add-on fees make the experience feel overpriced and frustrating. I miss the value and customer experience that existed under the previous ownership.
