However, it is a very small place so seating is limited, and definitely don't plan on bringing a large group because it's cramped as it is, and no outdoor seating available. We came about an hour before closing on Friday, so luckily it wasn't crazy busy but they only have one lower regular height table, which is actually a handicap designated table, so the higher bar seating isn't super ideal for kids or elderly. Other than that if you want to just do takeout, I saw a lot of people doing that. It was hard to make a choice here because of all the delicious things on the menu, but we were super happy with what we got. The lechon sisig was the perfect amount of heat, and loved the poached egg added on top, definitely worth the extra cost. We also got the longsilog, which was a delicious plate of food. The sausage was cooked perfectly, and it was so juicy and flavorful, our kids devoured all of it! The salad and the pickled achara was so refreshing and really completed the dish. Even the lumpia and the house chili sauce didn't disappoint either. The presentation was definitely all there. Service was awesome as well. My only complaint is that they were out of the calamansi hibiscus drink so I wasn't able to try it, but I guess that just means I have to come back again when I'm in the area!

But the highlight for me was definitely the Lucenachon! It had such a unique take on lechon and was incredibly juicy and tender. I especially loved the marinade--it gave the meat so much flavor. We ordered the Bicol Express Mezzelune and Crispy Duck Pancit, along with the Clarified Ube Sour and Calamansi Mojito. Unfortunately, neither of us enjoyed the flavor profiles this time. The Bicol Express sauce was too sweet for our taste, while the filling itself was quite dry. The sauce on the duck pancit was also extremely salty. We were hoping our drinks would help cleanse our palates and balance out the meal, but they were forgotten and didn't arrive until the very end. To top things off, after we paid, our credit card wasn't returned to us, and we had to ask another server to retrieve it. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience, especially since we chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and had such great experiences here in the past. We know they're capable of providing a much better experience, which made this visit even more frustrating. After this experience, it's unlikely that we'll be coming back anytime soon. That said, because our previous visits were so enjoyable, we might be willing to give them another try in the future and hope this was simply an off night.

Spoon & Pork, which originated as a food truck, was a restaurant that specialized in Filipino comfort food with a contemporary twist. They offered a fresh, inventive fusion of the flavours of the Philippines with modern sophistication. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood, Spoon & Pork was a cozy boutique eatery on bustling Sunset Boulevard that greeted guests with a neon pig sign at their front entrance. No private lot on this busy street, so finding nearby parking was a bit challenging and although the charming spot offered both indoor and al fresco dining, seating was also limited. The tropical-inspired dining room with warm wood accents created an effortlessly cool and relaxed atmosphere that felt both modern and rooted in tradition. Upon entry, guests were welcomed by the aroma of sizzling meats and fragrant spices which alluded to the culinary journeys to come.
