This new grocery store in a town that already has several major grocery stores may peak interest of those that want Eastern European and Russian food but it's their prices that may drive customers away. With a ShopRite across the highway they are no where near competitive. While the store is clean and organized well the allotment of parking is limited and on a hill. The delivery trucks make exiting and entering the lot a challenge. What I found most annoying and probably not compliant with the ADA is their shopping carts. You are required to push down the handle and keep it pushed down to make the carts move. It is difficult and tiring. Since all vegetables and fruits are very overpriced, they should stay there forever! Great deli, amazing salad bar (6 different soups daily, mom!) and terrific caviar counter. Meat selection is interesting. Ducks, poussin, rabbits and baby pigs regularly offered for sale. Oh, and don't forget the tongue! Pork tongue, veal tongue and cow tongue available. Ground meat, not so fresh, do not buy. In milk and yogurt department have to be careful, got some items that have actually expired a day or two before. So, constant vigilance. Love their honey choice. Amazing! Twice in one week at the newly opened store. Terrific choices on food to go in a nutshell. Great bakery, meats, deli and prepared foods. The items I had twice this week are borscht (freshly made for $7 a quart), blintzes (blueberry and cheese), cabbage salad. Loaded up on new pickles and tomato pickles both times. Pro tip: they allow you to fill containers with pickles and then take a separate container for juices at no charge :) I also grabbed lots of piergos, poppyseed brioches (awesome), chicken cutlets and other items. You need travel to Brighton Beach no longer if you are in the northern suburbs. Especially convenient to Northern Jersey, and Rockland, it halved our typical time to the wilds of Brooklyn from Westchester. The store is larger than you would expect from the unprepossessing exterior. Consider it a Russian gourmet supermarket, it's considerably larger than a typical "gourmet store." The produce section won't cause Whole Foods to lose any sleep, but you'll probably find what you need, and fairly priced. (Honeycrisp apples $2.49/lb.) The bakery section has the expected brown and black breads. Snag the apple pie/tart (7.99 a lb. if available). The meat counter is small, and not the place to purchase lux cuts of steak. We plumped for short ribs, meaty and well priced, as well as chicken. I noted the presence of a D'Artagnan duck, a good bit cheaper than the last one I bought at Fleisher's. We chose four smoked fish items and three were winners. A whole whitefish, Haifa brand, was every bit as good as that found at an appetizing store. Butterfish made a fine alternative to sable. The smoked salmon, pre-sliced but un-packaged was also good, but the slices were thick. The only disappointment were the thick slices of a salmon trout, which were chewy and hard to separate from the skin. I couldn't find bagels in the store - substituted some fine brown Russian bread. Fans of Eastern European charcuterie will be well served here, as there is a large selection of smoked meats and sausages. Ten days of holiday eating and a large crowd led me to save this experience for another trip. Instead I plumped for a bag of pelmeni - they are also available loose. We chose some made in the USA Latta Russian style kefir on special. A full array of dairy goods awaits - Meggle butter anyone? There are many prepackaged Russian starches and grains, polenta, buckwheat? Unfortunately, not all of the packages have instructions in English. Checkout was fast and friendly. Lest this sound like a paid pitch piece, I do have one serious gripe. The parking lot, which is altogether too small, and lacks cart corrals. The customers don't seem to be too eager to return their carts, and they are pretty territorial, so be forewarned. Perhaps Gourmanoff should make a weekend parking arrangement with one of the neighboring businesses. read more

Lately the quality has take a hit. When it first opened up, the store was well run. Lately, the deli counter takes forever to get cold cuts. The cheeses are no longer cut but precut and you can never find the exact portion you need or cheese when you get to the store. Waiting in line at the deli takes forever and is never properly staffed. Cheeses literally sitting behind glass but was told that they can't slice it for you - great business model and truly poor management decisions. This place won't survive long with these business practices in todays world. Bought organic cottage cheese the other day, only to open it up and find a layer of mold growing on top. It's a shame this used to be a great store, but I've had enough, will be shopping elsewhere. read more

But I never new to be a customer in this store you have to be fluent in Ukrainian.Young lady by cash register refused to speak English neither Russian, speaks to me language that unfortunately for her i don't speak. Bought smoked sturgeon which is an expensive fish to buy. Threw it out as it had rotten smell and bitter taste. This is the second time we bought bad fish product at that location. First time it was red salmon roe "Kamchatskaya" which ended having a funny smell and afte I ate a few tea spoons of it I ended up with an upset stomach resulting from consuming it and spent a sleepless night next to the toilet. What's funny is that a sales person claimed they just received it and it was as fresh as it comes. I avoid buying fish there from now on as I realize establishment lacks food quality control. Today's trip there was a total miss. Kharcho soup which I bought at least 2 times before didn't even taste like anything similar. Hoping not to get sick from consuming some of it. The huge jar of shiitake mushrooms in brine ended up being not salt brined at all????!!!!!. The can of Salaka fish in tomato sauce was hard and stale end followed the two earlier described items .... right into the garbage. So far negative $13. Ridiculous. Was going to return all but couldn't find receipt, I know they won't take items back without a receipt. By the way all my friends who were so excited last year about this store actually stopped going because of issues and inconsistencies with food quality. I personally feel that the company sells a lot of close outs of what they can buy cheaper. Too bad. read more

The victim of the intoxicated conception behind the bread counter is probably the rudest, most obnoxious and aggressive employee in the food/restaurant business I have seen in a long time. He behaves and looks like he hates you and, even though you are polite and courteous, he makes you feel like not wanting to come to the store again. Not only is he unaware of the words such as "please" and "thank you", but he exhibits an attitude that basically tells the customers that he wants them to go away. According to the manager, there have been numerous complaints about him previously, so it is beyond me, why they are even keeping such a creature working in the store. I hope the management will get rid of him ASAP in order to bring the level of the customer service to acceptable standards. As for the rest, the store is ok. read more

DO NOT SHOP at Net Cost Market. They have a terrible customer service and poor quality of food. The delivery was never on time and drivers leave the boxes outside without letting know that it was delivered. Customer service representatives are very rude. A Russian blonde woman in the cold cuts department was very angry and rude to me because I did not hear when she called my number. I believe that this is non-professional and such people should not work with clients. This rude act was embarrassing and humiliating. Primarily a Russian market. Lots of interesting things to try. Some inexpensive sweet cookies/cracker/wafers to try that are good. I really like the hot and cold prepared foods that rotate. Only problem is sometimes they have what you like and sometimes they don't. I wish there was a schedule for food items in the cold salad area so I would know if I am wasting a trip. But there is usually the crab/kani salad or shrimp salad that I like. read more

Great selection of European goodies. My husband loves their cooked food section. We always stock up on spreads and smocked fish here. For those who don't know, European products have manufacturing date instead of expiration date listed on the packaging. Don't be confused. Most products are good for 12 - 18 months since the date they were packaged. read more

Asked for help at the butcher counter but was shooed away. Another employee tried to help me, but it was too late - I was already annoyed my simple question was ignored. I used to take the bus to Port Authority and the train to Brighton Beach to get a lot of this stuff but no more. The smoked fish,caviar , black bread are all here , with reasonable prices. The selection of charcuterie especially the pates, D'Artagnan duck saucisson are to die for. They also have hot prepared food they sell by the pound. Also in the produce section I found nespoli/nisperos (loquats) which are extremely rare and were very sweet. I will definitely be back, but probably on Sundays so I dont have to put up with Rt 4's traffic. read more

The store is ok but the service is awful! One lady from the Deli counter was mean to me because she wanted to finish her work earlier. So she refused to take my order. I asked her couple times because I'm not able to come here often and I needed only ham and cheese. She ruined my evening I was absolutely upset about it. It was OK, but no Chebureki, no Samsa, no Hachipuri. Yes they're extensively stocked, but if you're travelling a distance to get here to avoid having to drive to Brighton Beach, drive 10 minutes further West on RT 4/208, and go to B&B International Deli in Fair Lawn instead. Gourmanoff was a little too slick for me, B&B gives me the Brighton Beach experience I'm looking for. I would not recommend to purchase cold smoked fish in the Netcost in Paramus (Rt 4). We bought on 02/29/20 the white cold smoked fish and nobody of our guests did not eat it, When I tried it myaelf and found out that fish was spoiled, beware. read more

The ground turkey meat that was packed on the day I bought it according to the label information and was good for another 6 days was all slimy and smelly!!! Had to throw 2 packs in the garbage . If I lived closer to the store I would have come and have the managers smell the meat they sell as fresh. I am reporting the store to the local department of health. read more

I have gone there since it opened, was initially very excited. BUT...On several different occasions bought moldy, outdated food. WORST - on more than one trip had RUDE checkout. Last time CASHIER did NOT observe social distancing while checking me out in the middle of Covid19. First she crushed the fruit I purchased while bagging, then when I politely corrected her to prevent more damage, she back-sassed me, and took the next customer. I was left standing there with $200 worth of the unbagged food I just purchased, and now I and the next person in line were both bagging within 2 inches of each other! When I called the manager, security came up and nobody even apologized. Next time my $200 will be spent elsewhere. read more

One of the worst supermarket/food establishments to even shop in. The aisles are all turned in so when you have someone in your way   you will have to walk around the whole establishment just to get to the other side.  The containers to put the prepare foods are cheaply made that the top does not close unless you push hard which in return breaks the tupperware spilling food all over the place. Even the check out system was poorly designed. Who develop this concept? The registers are literally one behind the other and is a complete chaos just to pay for your food. People are everywhere with no direction and what's even worse no one speaks English so they have no clue how to even communicate with shoppers. Just standing there, I watched 4 people leave their carts behind based on the organization of this establishment.  Food shopping should not be this stressful. This is my favorite Russian store finally one not to far from my house everything is fine and food is good. How ever cashier manager a Russian blond girl gosh she is stupid !! I have no other words for it just super stupid along with other cashiers example standing in the line to check out I am next to check out this girl cashier turning to me I am closing ??? WTF you see me standing there for 20 min waiting and telling me you closing when I am next ?? So I say no you not you could close right after me. Initially I was very impressed...the store is super clean and organized. Price point is a little high but understandable for a smaller "market" type place. I decided to try it out and I ran over to buy something for dinner...I picked up ground turkey and lettuce, 2 fairly simple things right? Well when I got home I proceeded to open the turkey to cook it and I noticed it was a little brown in color. Naturally I put my nose down to smell it and it had an awful oder to it....it was clearly not good. I then cut open the lettuce to make a salad and the entire middle was brown! Needless to say I DID NOT have a good first experience there...and if this is any indication of what this store has to offer I don't know how long it's going to last. read more

Came to the grand opening today and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Felt like I died and went to heaven. The breads..The smoked fish..the salad bar..loved everything.
